+ -1 moreAll seemed to go well with the new roof until the first rain storm. We have 4 sky lights, 2 in our kitchen ceiling and 2 in our porch roof. One of the kitchen units leaked and stained the ceiling paint, Both of the porch units leaked, one significantly causing a carpet stain. We called D & B and asked for a repair. They did come and did something. Another storm and more leaks. Another call and another repair was made but not until I made a strong phone call stating I wanted it fixed. More leaks and more phone calls. No response this time. Frustration set in as several weeks had gone by. Leaks continued so I called a new contractor. It was then that it was discovered that the seals around the sky light glass had been damaged during the roof replacement. The new contractor sealed the glass. Perhaps a year passed. We have an addition on the back of our house which has a small bathroom. Some folks visiting noticed that the bathroom ceiling was stained. A friend who is a contractor had a device that measures water content. The sheet rock was wet with water. A new roofing contractor was called. He discovered that the flashing around the bathroom vent pipe was damaged apparently during the previous roof replacement. The flashing was repaired and the leak resolved. Overall even though I have known the owner of D & B for many years before the roof job, I would not recommend D & B as I feel that in order to get the job done quickly and at a reasonable price, the workmanship was sloppy.

+ -1 moreDan (owner) is very professional and is on site at all times working alongside his crew. They have all the newest gadgets and materials to make the job go smoothly. Cleanup was outstanding, everyday they cleaned up the site completely removing all shingles and nails. Price was very reasonable and communication was excellent, all calls and e-mails were promptly responded to.
Description of Work: Full roof tear off and replacement performed in 2012, then I had them return to wrap the fascia in aluminum in 2013.

+ -1 moreDan and his men were fantastic and did the job on time and for the exact priced quoted,and even with all the extra replacement,Dan was a pure gentlemen and didn't try and gouge me with a huge bill for the extras.........Keep up the great work...
Description of Work: I found Dan listed at Better Business Bureau as well as several other Roofing contractors at the desperate time and need of closing on my foreclosure home I purchased and the roof was leaking all over the entire house.. Dan returned my phone calls promptly and set up an estimate time,and for me driving up from Manhattan to meet was surely crucial because I am on limited time myself and didn't want anyone not showing up,or not showing up on time......"And of course ,the other contractors never called back,or didn't show up"Dan was prompt,and extremely professional,and I should know I am a General Contractor in Manhattan and own a construction Company...... We put ladders up and climbed all over the roof,and I know the business well myself,I did roofs for years,but didn't have the time to come up and hire men or bring men with me from New York City which almost was an option........Dan pointed out all the bad areas, which I knew already but never got to see the top of roof until this point,only water pouring in all over the house....He gave me a more then fair estimate on the spot,and I gave him a check and set a time after his other jobs,and he was accurate and showed up when he was suppose to with his men.........After they started pulling up shingles and old roofing rolled out, we got to see where the damage was done...There was rotted beams and plywood all over the roof which we expected to be some,but not that much..........Dan again gave me more then a fair price to ripup and replace ll the rotted wood,and his men and him worked endlessly doing so........
