It took ten days after we had the replacement unit shipped to us before we could get them to respond and set a date, he was not on time. The area under the sink was cleaned out and the repairman took about an hour. We left the area under the sink clear with a large pan under the unit for two days while using the sink, disposal AND dishwater to verify no leaks. So only 14 days after the install, we noticed with the dishwasher running our floor had flooded. We had everything under the sink drenched, much of it ruined and floor damage where water had run out from under the sink onto the floor. Upon inspection the return hose from the dishwasher had popped off. the "repairman" had reused a 3" piece of old hose, that he probably had 30 feet of on his truck, that had two cracks in it that might have been ok EXCEPT he only put back on 2 out of the three bands clamps? How do you mess that up, you have parts left over and you don't notice? This return is not pressurized so it took a couple weeks for the vibrations of the disposal and the dishwasher to wiggle the smaller diameter return out of the stub hose on the disposal. Here is the best part, we call them back and say we have a problem and the obviously well trained Debbie in customer service tells us to call Sears it is not their problem. The old hose was not their problem, they don't care it came apart and caused damage... perfect, nice job. Please be warned they are not 1.) thorough in their repairs, something I would think is essential 2.) not pleasant or good at customer service, heaven forbid you have a problem, good luck
Description of Work: Adirondack Appliance was selected by Sears' vendor to replace our recalled garbage disposal, that is why we did not pay, The disposal manufacturer paid them and now we notified both the manufacture and Sears we are lodging formal complaints with both for incompetent work that resulted in water damage to the under sink area AND our floor. We now have to submit a claim to them for the damage.

Issue was too expensive to repair so it was a $100 + tax service call to tell us the washer needed replacing. We bought a new washer from Home Depot that was on sale instead of buying one from Adirondack Appliance. I was somewhat put off that Adirondack Appliance wouldn't credit the cost of the service call on the bad washer towards the purchase of a new one if we bought it from them. If they had, I probably would have bought my new washer from Adirondack Appliance but since they wouldn't we shopped elsewhere.

My subzero refrigerator stopped cooling. Came out promptly replaced the cooling fan & said to watch if it cooled back down if not I needed a new condenser. Was quoted an additional $1600 for that repair... It didn't cool back down. Was told I had to order the part myself & they would come install it?! I contacted subzero directly to order the part & I was informed Adirondack is NOT an authorized service provider. Subzero gave me a list of authorized providers & mailed me the part.... No charge. Since that seemed like an expensive repair I did my due diligence & called Best Appliance Repair & paid for them to come out & give me an estimate too. They came out immediately checked & replaced my temperature sensor, charged me $250 & my refrigerator immediately came down to temperature. Mind you I literally would have been out 2k now for work that never would have fixed my fridge! I gave Adirondack the benefit of the doubt & figure mistakes happen informed them about the misdiagnoses. They didn't believe me.... Literally. The way they wouldn't acknowledge or try & understand & learn from their mistake was appalling. Might want to check the yelp vs Angie's list rating on this one. Angie you steered my off the road! I contacted Viking to find an Authorized service provider to fix my oven...

We have tried many times to have our Wolf range repaired - using the company we purchased it from (Feiden - don't use them they are terrible for service) and also a company that the Wolf corporate offices referred us to. Neither were able to fix the problem. As a last resort we tried calling Adirondack Appliance and they came right out. (We wish that Wolf corporate would have referred us to them when we first called!) They are easy to work with, show up when they say they are coming and they fix the appliance perfectly! Thank you very much for good service!

We had a triple whammy of appliance breakdowns. Service was prompt. The serviceman quickly repaired the regrigerator and microwave. He advised not to fix the washer but to let i go until it quit. He could fix it but it would be at least $800 to repair.

I called Adirondack Appliance and was able to scheduled an appointment on pretty short notice - I think it was only a few days. Anyway, the repairman -- I don't remember his name -- was a nice enough guy and arrived at the scheduled time. Within about 30 seconds of spinning the machine's front-loading metal basket, the repairman determined that the unit was totally shot and that fixing it would far exceed the price of replacing it new. The cost for this advice? $107.00 including tax. In fairness, they disclosed up front the price was $100 to look at it. But still, $107 including tax to drive 1/2 mile from their place to mine for what was literally a 5 minute visit? I asked that maybe they could knock off $25 or so because the visit was so brief. The answer was 'no' as the price was absolutely non-negotiable. So in terms of the quality of the repair, I can't say because there weren't any. I might use these guys again but I would shop around first a little more. I feel like a paid a lot of money for very little work.

It went very well. When he came back for the repair (to replace the part) it was earlier than originally expected which was great. He replaced it quickly and was friendly and professional. I think since it was a local business they were able to get here quickly. I will definitely use them again.
Description of Work: He diagnosed the problem with the washer right away (the cold water valve was leaking/broken, and water was leaking under the washer; it had caused damage to the floor in the adjoining room before I realized what was happening). He came back two days later with the replacement part (they had to order it) and installed it.

My refrigerator suddenly started leaking, and the water was getting under the floorboards creating the potential for serious damage + mold. Once I figured out that the water was coming from the refrigerator (and not plumbing), I called Adirondack Appliance. They came w/in 3 hours, diagnosed the problem quickly and repaired it on the spot. It turns out to be a broken connection to a water filter that did very little. Terry bypassed the filter and the problem was solved. He explained that the filter was an $80 part, didn't do much and he didn't want to sell me a new one when I didn't need it. Clean, professional, nice, inexpensive. I recommend them highly.

The price was steep: $80 just to walk in the door. However, he was extremely knowledgeable and helpful, and when he left I had the part numbers and price for the parts I needed, as well as some good advice for my cranky ASKO washers and dryers that came with the house. Based on his advice I shopped around for a new dishwasher and made a selection I am very happy with. One should be mindful that this firm also sells appliances, and they'll be more than happy to sell you a new one. When I checked, their prices were pretty steep when comparable models were much cheaper at Lowes at the time. But you can't beat their technical knowledge, at least I haven't found comparable, so I plan to use them in the future for services on appliances I buy elsewhere.

The fridge was shot. So, he recommended that I purchased a new one and I did. I replaced it. They were prompt and it was easy to get an appointment. They were very open housed. They walked me through it and explained exactly about what the problem was. The service person was great. I got a new fridge ultimately. They did not try and make me do repairs just to get more money out of me. I thought that their price was fair for the service call. The quality of service was good. They came out and did a good job of recommending the correct course of action.

The repairman was at the house promptly and worked quickly. Secured dishwasher into the wall (previous owner of house failed to have this done) and then he checked out the refrigerator problem. The refrigerator problem was a venting problem and electrical issue which were both fixed. I would use this company again and would recommend them to others.

Microwave was broken. They came to the house, said they couldn't fix it but would apply the service trip charge to a new microwave if I bought it from them. I had to pay the service trip bill before he left. Went to the store for a new microwave and they wouldn't honor the agreement to reduce the new microwave price by the previous service trip charges. When it was installed, it came without a box and with no waranty or instructions. They said they would leave it in the mailbox. Never got it. At this point, I am wondering if I got a used or returned unit. Overpriced.

We have never offered to deduct the service charge from the price of the new machine. I apologize for the miscommunication if you are in fact a customer. it also troubles me that we have no record of your purchase or service in our computer system. Perhaps you have us confused with another company?

I purchased a refrigerator from Adirondack Appliance in Early 2008. They delivered and installed the refrigerator within 24 hours of my purchase by my request. They wanted to come sooner but I was working. The installers did an excellent job making sure not to cause any damage moving two huge refrigerators. They were very pleasant and professional. Recently the refrigerator I purchased started not cooling as well as it should. I called for service and the technician was at my home within three hours. He called me at work so I could come home to meet him and not take all day off to wait. After he quickly and professionally determined the problem, he took care of it. Then explained to me what had happened. What I thought was a faulty refrigerator, was really the result of owning three shedding dogs. Their fur had accumulated under the refigerator blocking the ait flow. I am grateful that he took the time to clean this out for me. It was a dirty job. I can't say enough about how concerned and helpful everyone at this company is. I have recommended them to all of my friends who have had the same experiences I have. I also saw recently that they received the 2010 Best In Appliance for Saratoga Springs.

The sales personnel were friendly and tried to be helpful. The installers arrived within the time limit provided. They quickly removed the existing disposal but had a problem installing the new one. They were able to get the disposal in but were unable to reconnect the plumbing they had dismantled in the process. After being there one hour they said they had to leave because they had other installations to complete that day. They called a co-worker named Tom and said he would arrive shortly. He did arrive and basically manhandled (brutishly grabbed, twisted and bent) the plumbing to get a connection. He then advised me not to tough anything and that he didn't see any leaks so they were done ($125 installation fee charged at purchase). He also advised that I call a plummer and have my existing plumbing replaced !!

your existing plumbing was made from pvc and glue not standard sink fittings. it did not meet code. It was reinstalled to existing facilities however in all instances of local building codes not being met the customer is informed. It is not our companys fault the plumbing was custom fit to the orgional disposer. Had proper fitting been used we simply could have replaced your ptrap.
