Dolan Renovations arrived as scheduled with a three man crew. Immediately began demolition. They then prepped the floors and screwed down flooring along floor joists. They leveled the floor,. prepped it, and the installed new porcelain flooring in the kitchen. They also installed a new ceramic floor in the bathroom by applying it on top of the existing ceramic tile floor. They removed the toilet prior to installation, prepped the floor, installed the new tile and then reinstalled the toilet. They washed both floors several times and wiped down all adjacent cabinets and woodwork. Pete Dolan was very professional, and his crew completed the job as scheduled and as per the written estimate. His employees were EXTREMELY RESPONSIVE to any needs or suggestions. They were courteous, respectful and professional. I would highly recommend them to all friends and relatives as well as the general public. JOB WELL DONE !
Description of Work: Rip out old flooring and subflooring in kitchen, replace sub floors porcelain tiles. Install ceramic tile in bathroom over existing ceramic floor.

Dolan Renovations did a very nice job. They installed laminate flooring in my kitchen and front hallway and I was very happy with the work and craftsmanship they did. They also arrived on time and stayed until the job was finished. I would recommend them to others.

Everything went according to schedule. from the start date promised to the completion date, it took about 2 -2 1/2days for him to do the work. he and his workers arrived in the morning and didn't stop until evening. they couldn't have been any nicer and extremely polite.
Description of Work: He had to refinish the hardwood in all of my downstairs rooms. this included sanding, putting filler in areas that needed it and re staining the wood, which by the way looks absolutely beautiful. my jaw hit the floor when I walked in to see the finished project.

#1. I had vinyl ready for the foyer, was talked into by your employees to go with tile instead. It would look better and hold up to the elements.#2. You doubt your guys stepped on the floor??? Hmmm, the guy that did the room in question told me he was new at this and then to suggest I would KICK the holes to make the worse is absurd, it's called a close up picture. It was 7:45 pm when they finished and getting DARK. How could I possibly do a proper inspection? The floors were not walked on until 9/24 when I came back from out of town.#3. We were scheduled for a 2 day job and somehow you said it could all be finished in one day. So sorry I asked your "professional opinion" on what baseboard goes with the flooring as I had no idea how it would turn out.#4. Suggesting a referral and to start going ahead with the Pergo was simply to light a fire under you, expecting that may encourage you to finish what you started!! You didn't even respond to this message AT ALL!!#5. You have never once left me a voice mail message, YOU were supposed to call me as I provided a time as to which I would be available.#6. How is speaking my mind and wanting others to know how I was treated as a person slander? You were vulgar and obviously irritated with me asking your opinion on things, to which most you didn't respond till I asked a second time.#7. Telling a customer you don't want to see their face, then stating you will come back and do the work anyway it's a little scary. I would not welcome that into my house. If you want to send your guys they were nice and I would talk to them. #8. Yes to the naked eye the job did look good in the dark. Upon coming home I could actually see in the daylight the job was very rough and the mess left was incredibly disturbing.#9. Have someone besides you call me and I would be responsive. 2 weeks was plenty of time for someone that says these are very MINOR ISSUES. If this was your home and you couldn't move forward with any other work as a result I doubt you would think they were so minor. #10 Pete has seen none of this with his own 2 eyes as he was off site 8 or 9 hours before his guys even finished. If you want to talk false accusations I suggest you take a look at what you actually know to be fact.
Description of Work: So I have a BBB Accredited Company come to fix what Dolan Renovations has done, did my research and made sure it was a reputable, licensed and insured. $1200 estimate, which is fine as a price, but I have to pull off the baseboard and quarter round that was just installed. I understand they are trying to sell me their services but this man was utterly appalled at what Pete's crew did to my floors. So a approx $1000 "Dolan Renovations", is costing me around $2500 after repairing my walls, broken thermostat, closet rails that were just removed and discarded, . I may never get justice but I will make sure others are aware of his business ethics. Thank you Dolan Renovations, for really sticking it to a customer that is not going to just lay down and let it be. Thanks Angies List for giving me an avenue to seek someone out that can do the work right. http://www.dolanrenovations.com/ Kudos to other companies and businesses that actually STAND BY THEIR WORK, AND DONT GIVE EMPTY PROMISES.

Response from Dolan Renovations
I was hired to Sand & Finish this customers Living room, and only buff & coat the small bedroom. We were also supposed to install linoleum in his front foyer, and Install Base molding in the living rm and bedroom. But when my employees got there that day (Friday September 21, 2012) he did not have the linoleum yet or the base boards - he didn't make up his mind yet. Another thing we found out was that he had stained his bedroom floor and did not know what he was doing because it was coated on real thick and not soaked in at all. So at this point I called him and told him we needed to sand this floor because of this, and I told him that this would make a mess. He agreed for us to do this verbally over the phone. The sanding and finishing came out beautiful. While doing the bedroom my employees did ding the wall in two places, but the pictures he posted looks like he put a foot to it before taking the picture. Either way it is still an easy fix. When my employees had Randy Wise check the job before leaving he said that it looked great and then he asked my guys if they want a beer - which they declined. My Employees told him to stay off the floor for at least 24 hrs. After they left he sent me a text msg "looks great. I got a referral for ya already." Sounds to me like he liked our work. During the day I had a couple conversations with Randy concerning the front foyer, and the base molding. He was undecided on exactly what he wanted. He only paid me for the services we provided. The following Monday he pointed out the two little holes and mentioned a footprint in the floor. I doubt my guys stepped on the floor but knowing that it is an easy fix I agreed to take care of the footprint and wall repair when we come back to do the foyer and base boards. During that week I had a few conversations with Randy, mostly through text, about what he wanted in the foyer and what he wanted to do with the base molding. Every time I tried to call him he would not answer, he would only text me. He finally on Thursday the 27 of September sent me a picture of regular Colonial casing, saying "something like this works, Pine or Oak. I don't care. I just want it finished. " He also stated that he wants Tile in the foyer. Next he text me on October 2 asking me to come please fix my walls for me, I want to paint. Now up until this point we were supposed to take care of this when we came back to do the rest of the work or ROUND 2 as he called it. I tried calling him and left a message. Randy did not call back. Instead he sent me some pictures of the minor damage to the wall and a puddle of sealer on his basement floor. He also states that he wants to move onto the pergo floor in the kitchen too. Why would I put off another job?? I was booked solid and told him so. I tried calling Him on Friday during the day also, and he did not answer. Instead he sent me a text saying that he was swamped too and that he would have his wife call me. She never did. At this point I want to add that I have phone records and text msg's saved to prove everything I am saying. He sent me a message that he would call me after 5 on Friday. AGAIN he did not call. This is where he flipped on me Monday October 8, he sends a text "Small claims court it is." And at this point I find out he is slandering my company reputation on Facebook, and some site called rip-off report, and probably others. When 4 days earlier he was anxious to have me do his kitchen floor, front foyer, and base boards. All I needed was for Randy to answer one of my calls or call back when he said he was going to and We would've had a date set to do everything he wanted. I had never even gave him a price for some of the work yet. I guess he trusted me until I became too busy to jump at his command. This is my busy season. I would've scheduled him as soon as possible. He has made it clear that he doesn’t want me in his house, so with that I believe I went above and beyond trying to satisfy him as a customer. I will not send my employees into his house without me, because I no longer trust what he might try. This entire statement is exactly what transpired between myself, Peter Dolan - Owner of Dolan Renovations and my customer.
