Great experience with JBL for a patio sliding door replacement. From the start, the owners Dave and Jill were responsive via email and phone, as well as personable and just all-around nice people. Dave came to measure and provide an estimate promptly, which was very fair. The job was scheduled soon thereafter for the following week. On installation day, work started right on time and Dave was on-site for a majority of the time. There was one hiccup during the install, but Dave worked to correct the issue right away to make sure the job was done correctly and that all was done to ensure I was happy. After the door was installed, everything was left spotless. Nothing but praise for JBL Home Improvements.

We were very pleased with everyone who worked on our job (plumber, tile, painter & most of all his lead man (Mike) they all worked efficiently and cleaned up efficiently. Also Dave (the contractor) oversaw that everything went well.

This is the second time we’ve used JBL and I would not hesitate one moment to hire them again. Every person who come to the house to do work was professional, kind and courteous. Dave was spot on with hot time frames and communication. He checked on the work that was done every day during construction and made sure we were happy with the work.

Last used JBL three years ago for 2 bathroom remodel and new windows/doors. This time the work involved complete new kitchen, new lighting in kitchen, new floor, sanding of old floors, complete interior painting and 3 new windows. As with the last project, we could not be happier with the quality of the work. Dave was extremely easy to work with and equally important to get in touch with. He was at our home daily, checking previous days work and discussing work being done that day Same crew from three years ago. Excellent attention to detail including painters,plumbers, electrician, tile installers. Cleaned up at the end of the day. Dave is a hands on contractor who involved himself in the project start to finish. Would definitely use JBL again.

Replaced kitchen floor. Showed up on time. Cleaned up and left no garbage. Touched up everything and worked with me to get it all done including tile selection. Did everything on schedule and at price agreed upon. Have used them before and will likely use them again.

Dave and the team did a great job. The team was in for about 2-1/2 weeks to completely rip out and replace our master bathroom (down to bare studs). Dave also completed some other work not directly related to the bathroom. Overall, Dave and the team, including all his subcontractors were always professional, on time each and did an overall great job. He has an attention to detail and checked the work each day to make sure everything was right. He kept us in the loop before and during the work on the status of the job. We couldn't be more happy with how it all came out. Our existing bathroom was 20+ years old and was in major need of a repair. It has been very hard over the past few years finding a reliable contractor. Luckily I found one in the team at JBL.

We chose JBL, early last October, after getting estimates from five contractors ,and we couldn't be more pleased. Dave (owner), said they wouldn't be able to start until the new year. However, he was able to free up his crew at the end of October to install new flooring in our master bedroom, a few days before we were getting a new bedroom set. The biggest surprise came the first week of November, when Dave told us he could start the master bathroom remodel on December 6th. Once they started that, everything went well. Dave gave us some good suggestions but he was also always open to do anything that we wanted. The best advice he gave us, was to buy good quality bathroom plumbing fixtures for the bathroom, which we did. While it did cost us much more than we intended on spending, it was a smart thing to do, as the quality of the products in the big box stores can't match what we bought. After finishing the bathroom, they started work on a room we wanted in the basement. Again, Dave gave us suggestions, for flooring and lighting, and the room came out great. They also did a nice job in replacing our single front door light with two new lights that we had purchased. After that, we had to wait a few weeks for the egress window to be done, due to supply shipping issues. By the end of February, all was done. One thing that we were extremely happy about, was that Dave came to the house just about every day to see how things were progressing. His crew was also a pleasure to work with. They were on time every morning. They are all very nice, very skilled, and answered any questions we had during the entire process. The outside companies he uses for plumbing, sheetrock and shower glass are all top notch. Electrical work was done by, Mike, one of his own crew, who also does a lot of the carpentry, along with two other men. They left the house clean at the end of the day. What we also liked, is that the only money Dave asked for up front, was the deposit for hiring him and for the egress window, as he had to pay for that to place the order. Other than that, money was only paid after work was already done. Pricewise, JBL was middle of the road when compared to the other estimates we got, so we know we weren't overpaying. We would definitely use JBL again and highly recommend them.

Just completed my master bath remodeling by JBL Home Improvement, Inc. in St. James on 3/29/2022. I am completely satisfied. It came out just as I planned. I am especially pleased with the quality of the frameless shower enclosure and the tile layout. Dave Kaplan and his workers were completely professional and accommodating. Dave visited at least once each morning to meet with me and his workers and was readily available by phone throughout the day. Every day before leaving each worker cleaned up thoroughly. The cost of the project was reasonable. I spent a great deal of time researching contractors. Dave is actively licensed, insured, and with no complaints as per the Suffolk County Office of Consumer Affairs. He has an A+ rating with the BBB. I would not hesitate to use JBL Home Improvement, Inc. again and highly recommend them.

We were very pleased with JBL and with the final outcome. Dave was professional and checked in daily and kept us informed as to what work was being done. All his workers were courteous and cleaned up each day. His experience and input helped us to make final decisions on different aspects of the renovation.

The kitchen and dining space was completely renovated, including new windows, sliding door, floors, ceiling, lighting, cabinets and appliances. The result was astonishing: we have got a contemporary kitchen full of light. Excellent quality of work, superb level of reliability!

JBL is clean, and punctual. Dave (owner) leaves nothing to chance by reviewing work closely with the crew. He is easy to reach, helpful and accomodating. I would not hesitate to re-hire.

JBL Home Improvements did a beautiful job remodeling our master bedroom! Very professional, knowledgeable, thorough, honest, reliable, neat, trustworthy, and very easy to communicate and collaborate with! JBL had great design ideas and recommendations and helped us each step along the way of our remodel. Our experience was amazing and I would highly recommend JBL.

The project ran smoothly, on time, and on budget. Dave and his team were professional, clarified issues before they became problems, and left no loose ends. The project involved the demolition of existing built-in cabinets and a massive, green-tiled shower that was designed with one purpose in mind - growing mold. We increased the footprint of the 10x11 sq ft room by reclaiming space from an adjacent oversized walk-in closet, which made a perfect alcove for a new free-standing tub. The tile installation was done to perfection, and the installation of all components, including the neo-angle door was completed without issue. To their credit, the team helped us isolate a crack in the new Kohler toilet and installed the replacement part without complaint. We're looking forward to working with JBL on our next project.

The team from JBL was fantastic. We started with a simple project to remove stairs that were in our kitchen that led to a den which we were now making a closet and moving the entrance to our master bath. That led to us redoing the master bath, the bedroom, the kitchen, the closet, etc. Every time we added on, it was not an issue. From construction, to flooring to tiling to painting, every worker that entered the house was excellent and professional. I referred JBL to a good friend of mine after.

JBL was great from start to finish. Quick to respond to messages, quick to turn around with proposal and quick to install. Windows look great. Guys were polite and kept house super clean. Will definitely hire again.

JBL did an excellent, professional job. The work was completed in a timely manner. The various workers were polite and courteous, and the interior of the workshop looks great. They even repaired the siding on the back of my house as a favor. I will be hiring them again for future renovations in my home.

This is our second time using JBL home improvement. Dave and the JBL crew are excellent people to work with. They started work right away and Dave kept us informed of possible delays with furnishings due to the Pandemic. He always followed up with the cabinet and granite manufacturers and kept us informed of their progress. The crew was excellent and clean. Everyday they left all work areas clean. They always gave us options and opinions for furnishing placement. We are looking forward to using JBL for our future home renovations.
