Description of Work: James and his crew came and gave an estimate for a bathroom remodel. Construction time was of the essence and James delivered on getting the bathroom done in a timely manner. Once walls and floors were ripped up, we ran into a snag with the plumbing. James was very professional in handling the situation and the problem was resolved quickly. His team was very professional and accommodating as well. They cleaned up after themselves when the project was complete. Overall it was a very successful project. I would consider using Atherton Painting and Construction LLC again for our future projects.

Description of Work: James and the team came i and did a remodeling of my kitchen. They arrived promptly and actually got the job done in half the time they originally thought it would. This was despite the fact that they identified an unexpected issue which need to be fixed. For that issue they quickly informed me what was need and the estimated cost, got my concurrence and then implemented the change without missing a beat. Very professional across the board and a pleasure to work with. I will use them again for my next job.

Description of Work: Showed up for the estimate appointment on time, in a car w/dealer plates and no markings of the company name, did not give me a written estimate basically told me they charge $60/hr and it would take 2-4 days. anywhere between $2500 & $4000. Very unprofessional.

Description of Work: Had a bedroom painted - ceiling, walls, trim and doors. The job done was excellent - walls sanded, sharp paint lines between ceiling and walls, good coverage all around, great job on trim. Room left clean. Will definitely use this painter again.

Description of Work: For several years (15-20), I have been contemplating redoing my bathroom, getting rid of the ugly pink tiles, pink flower wallpaper and linoleum floor. UGH! Over the years, obtained several estimates, but something more urgent (furnace, water heater, garage door, etc) always seemed to come up to delay making the final decision. |When I saw the DEAL on Angie's List, I decided NOW is the time! |I researched the reviews for Atherton Construction on Angie's List and the details on the deal. Since it included a 30-day refund guarantee, I purchased the deal on Monday January 26, 2015. James called me the next day, and was out to assess the job the next day. I had a proposal in my email by January 29. We negotiated the job; I wanted a lot of extras, and the bathroom was slightly larger than specified in the 'DEAL'. So we agreed that the materials allowance specified in the 'DEAL' would be applied toward the extra labor (demo to studs, more tile, etc) and I would directly purchase ALL materials. His crew would pick up larger items at the store when appropriate. I would pay the excess labor upon completion of the job. James and I agreed on a start date of 3/25/15. In the mean time we were emailing back and forth regarding materials several times a week - I had lots of questions! |On the start date, which was delayed one day due to issues at preceding job, I had all materials either on site, or awaiting pickup at the store. |Crew foreman, Mike and his helper arrived on time, and after a review of the job, got right to work. When I got home from work that night, was amazed at how much was accomplished on the demo - All done and cleaned up. |However all during the job, I was kind of disappointed in their dust control, Second day plumbing and electrical were mostly roughed in, insulation up and started hanging sheetrock and cement board. |By the end of the next week, all that was left was grouting and painting. |However I went away for the weekend, and when I came home, found water dripping from ceiling fan in kitchen below the bathroom. Seems when reconnecting bathroom radiator, the water connection was not properly sealed, and had dripped for 2 days. Resulted in minor damage and staining to kitchen ceiling, Mike smoothed and painted it, good as new. There were a couple other bumps in the road, but that is to be expected and everything was resolved to the satisfaction of all. Job was completed on time. |Overall, I am very pleased with the result. The bathroom looks GREAT! My only complaints are on dust control, and after a visit from a plumber to repair a slow running tub drain, determined that when grouting, the sponges were being rinsed in the tub instead of a bucket. This made an existing drainage issue worse. The grout residue did not flush thru, and had almost totally blocked the drain. |I WILL use this provider again for future jobs.

Description of Work: Job was twice size of their typical. Tile arrangement was more complex. They were great on install duties. Less great on job oversight and cost estimates. We had to provide more contractor oversight than expected. The only note of caution is that job is run fully by whoever was assigned to your work, not the front office. We lucked out as person they hired 1/2 through the job did great tile work and ended up only guy working our job to completion. B on quality only in that we found we had to do some added tile and glass block clean up work after the job was 'complete', had to reorder of mirror trim after cut error, and had to live with one shower valve handle being installed upside down.

Description of Work: The worker arrived exactly on time, did a great job,especially considering the shape of the walls. He gave me some good tips on making the corners look straighter in this 160 year old farmhouse. He was very pleasant, and professional! I would definitely use this company again!

Description of Work: Excellent!! James and his workers did a great job ! They painted the metal roof at our house and did carpentry exterior work. Trying to finish his work in time they worked in these rainy days (carpentry work) and weekend too. And they made it!
