For garbage collection, I use Casella. When I initially signed on, I thought that they were just over the border in Vermont but I am not sure. I know there is a point, a hub in Fort Edward, where you can actually take stuff in Fort Edward which is maybe 10 minute or a 15 minute drive for me. They have different drop off points. They were originally out of Vermont. The charge is 64 dollars and change about 10 cents quarterly. The reason I started with them is because they had this new technology for sorting. You could throw all of your recycles into the one bin, you do not have to sort them. It has got this conveyer belt with an air blowing system that teases out the lighter weight stuff and the heavier as it goes down the conveyer belt. It is more green. I like that very much and I have had them for years now. I think their pricing is very fair.

We moved to our new neighborhood last Sept. By Feb, I was looking for a more convenient method to haul our garbage. I checked around, and Casella was average on price, but they had a promotion, and the trucks and dumpsters looked better than their competition. Dumpsters are provided, but after 3 weeks of waiting (and 2 phone calls to local office)... (and getting my 1st bill!!), I drove down and got my own dumpsters from their yard... 2 miles away!! I wrote a nice letter to their out of state office, asking for a credit for the month I waited for my dumpster, and got NO response... except they credited me half a month. Since then, they have only missed me one week. Overall... I guess that's a C+ in the business. There really isn't much choice, and they act like they know it.

I rarely fill my cans. If I have something larger to pick up, I just call them to make arrangements.

They pick up my trash and recyclables every other week. They delivered two large plastic bins on wheels, one for recyclables and one for trash. They have taken larger items set on top of bins.

Horrible customer service. Pick up was every other week. Every time it was dumped the dumpster was moved. Apparently didn't suit the driver where I wanted it. After a couple of months it was almost 15 feet from where I had it delivered. It was now interfering with parking. I had to move it back by pushing it with my truck. They missed several dumps and every time they were out I had to pick up garbage all over the ground. The last few times they were here was especially bad which caused me to start to shop around. I confronted the driver the week after we had garbage all over (and some was stuck in the dumpster cover). The driver had an awful attitude. And still drove away with garbage all over the ground! At that point I was done! I have moved on....

Been a customer for a couple of months now. No complaints.

They rent out one recycling bin and one garbage bin both are large and have wheels. I can fit 7 kitchen bags in the canister. They come once per week around 3 am to pick up garbage and recycle. If I have a large item they will remove and bill me an extra fee.
