ROTTERDAM SEPTIC SYSTEMS INC

It didn't go at all. This is an updated review of one I have here from 9 years ago. I've tried four times to get them to come and snake out the foundation drain I previously raved about, with no success. I'm torn because they did an amazing job several years ago solving a flooding problem in my basement. They've come several times in the past to pump my tank and clear the drain of roots, but as I've said, I've now tried four times to schedule a time to do yearly maintenance and am told someone will get back to me but no one ever does. Last year it was twice setting appointments and no one showing up. Sorry, but this company's reliability has fallen flat for this customer.

I scheduled an appointment for an inspection and pumping. The first available was over 4 weeks from when I emailed them. I took the day off to be home for the inspection. They were scheduled to come at 11am. When 11:30 came and no one was here I emailed them with no response. When 12 came and still no one I called and left a voicemail, no response. When 12:30 came, another voicemail, no response. They never showed up and never returned my calls or emails. Took my business to a company that actually wanted to do the work we needed done and was actually cheaper then what they quoted me for.

Matt was very professional and respectful. I could hardly tell he was here since he replaced the grass after digging it up to pump out the septic tank. I would highly recommend his services.

The technician arrived at the early end of the timeframe I was given. It was a short window, 2 hrs, which I appreciated, can schedule my day better. The gentleman was outgoing and friendly, worked quickly, explained what he was doing. I gave N/A for the price as I don't have a basis for comparison. The company performed this service last did so 3 years ago, so I can't compare to that price. I gave up on them after contacting the owner 3 times.

Had to locate since tank was covered by 3 foot of soil. Found lid on first attempt. Returned soil and sod hardly notice area was disturbed.

Larry and Matt were great. I was under a time-crunch, and they were able to move me up in their schedule by two weeks. And, THEY ARE REPUTABLE. I obtained estimates from septic companies in Ballston Lake and Queensbury as well. One tried to convince me that I needed a pumping station (for another $3,500), and the other one tried to convince me that a full engineering plan was necessary (for an additional $1,100). I highly recommend that anyone needing septic work, contact them.

I called them 3 times over a 3 week period. never returned my phone call. have used them before in the past. In fact, in 2012 they replaced my leach field for my septic system. I guess they can't be bothered returning phone calls anymore. The price I am listing below is for the the last time they were here to pump the tank in 2012. I can tell you that I do not recommend them at all.

After many years of frustrating septic problems and being told by two septic companies that I needed an entire new system from the house to the leach field I decided to consult with a plumber. It was difficult to believe that an entire new system was needed as this had been done in 2009 and the leach field redone again in 2010. After making a few repairs the plumber indicated that the septic tank was full and would need to be pumped out. For a household of one this would be the fourth time in six months that a pump out was necessary. He recommended Rotterdam Septic Systems Inc. and they arrived within an hour or so. After emptying the tank they observed, as other septic companies have in the past, that water was rapidly entering the tank from the outgoing drain. Rather than just deciding that the leach field was faulty these young men took a few minutes, determined that the leach field was dry and continued investigating. As it turned they discovered a second tank with an effluent pump and the plug to this pump had inadvertently become dislodged in the garage. Problem solved in a matter of minutes. One would think that the septic company that installed this tank and pump would have had some record of this and not recommended a whole new septic system.

Thie man arrived early for our appointment and went right to work. He explained to my husband what he was looking for in the expection and answered all of the questions that he was asked. He was friendly and very efficient. I would recommend this company to anyone.

Very good on install and clean up. Work done very well and folks were very professional.

Matt arrived on time, was clean, professional, and so friendly! He gave me a full assessment and price and we are planning on having them do work next spring. Great guy, great experiance!

Went well. Tank cleaned and inspected. Originally told might need to replace a baffie in the tank however after closer inspection and a 2nd appointment it was determined that this was not required and tank has worked fine. Was fully satisfied with their work and would definitely use their services again.

It went great! Very smoothly. I was not there for the actual work, but was given this account by my clients, the home owners and sellers of the property. The initial inspection included an estimate for two possible scenarios - one with just replacing the septic tank, and the other with replacing the tank and the leach field. They came promptly and removed the old system and then placed in the new tank. They took pictures of the tank in the ground, so the new owner would be able to see it had been installed. Then, they tested the leach field and found it to be fine, so we were able to go with the cheaper estimate. Afterward, they replaced all the dirt and made the ground they'd disturbed look quite nice. They moved quickly and efficiently and did the work well. As a Realtor, I often have clients looking for help with their septic system and I will absolutely recommend Rotterdam Septic to them.

My experience with Rotterdam Septic Systems was a mix of good and bad. The good, he was punctual and courteous. The bad, unresponsive and slow to provide quote, the quote was for a partial replacement when complete replacement is what is needed, the quote proposed a system that would not meet code, when questioned about the code issues and a compliant quote requested, I did not receive a reply. I feel that this provider may have valued his relationship with the selling agent more than replacing a single system.

Matt showed up on time and started looking for placement of tank and cover. This was the first time since buying the property that I had the tank serviced. He had one of his workers with a small back hoe in the area so he had him come over and dig where we thought the tank was. One try and the tank was found. They drained the tank replaced the cover and back filled the hole. Matt and back hoe operator were very friendly and answered all my questions regarding the condition of the tank. If I run into trouble, I know I could call them and get an honest estimate of work that may need to be done

You cannot ask for better service than that!!! Very professional, informative and reasonable. Will definitely use them as my septic service in future.

I started having drainage pipes backup in my basement and I thought maybe my septic system needed to be emptied. I asked on Facebook for recommendations and a friend recommended Rotterdam Septic. I called them and the woman was extremely pleasant on the phone and immediately sent a truck. When they opened the system they found it wasn't really full. I told them the problem I was having, and the guys (who were extremely nice and professional) took it upon themselves to snake my septic tank's main inlet pipe and sure enough they dislodged something that's probably been making its way through my pipes for years. They really saved me money and aggravation, since I didn't need to call a plumber to fix the plug. I thought they went above and beyond for me and I will always call them in the future.

My water drains were not emptying into the septic tank but were backing up into my cellar. I called Rotterdam Septic Systems at 8am. They responded quickly and were at my house at 8:45am. I showed them where the tank was. They removed the sod only above the two tank entry portholes. They emptied the tank and cleaned out a plug in the line leading from the house to the tank. After that was done, they replaced the sod so that no damage to my lawn was visible. The two guys, Matt and Chris, were informative, and very pleasant. I will need more work done in the spring and will deffinitely have them back.

Went very well, showed up prior to the scheduled time. Was very professional and courteous. Took the time to show the proper placement of the opening. Cleaned up and even played catch with my labs.

Everything went great. The truck was at the scene when we arrived at the house we are purchasing. Matthew Ross was already digging out the area to get to the septic tank. He was thorough, friendly and efficient! Forthcoming with information that we needed for the future.

Rotterdam Septic Systems arrived on time. All went smoothly and all the work was completed in one day. Larry, Christopher and Matt worked constantly all day. They were courteous and professional. I asked if they could place some gravel over an area that I use to park a car and he agreed readily and did it a a price that was extremely reasonable. They had to remove a fence to do the work and replaced it splendidly. When all the work was completed everything was smooth and clean. I am not a person who does write ups like this but I had to for this because I was so impressed with Rotterdam Septic Systems performance. These are definitely go to guys.
