 + -1 moreShamrock Electric had done some electrical upgrades at my auto collision shop approximately a year ago. During that visit one of the items that was on my list was to replace the photo-electric sensor for a sodium spotlight which illuminates my rear storage lot. Now almost a year later the light failed so I called Shamrock Electric to take a look at it. When I called I left a message on his answering machine thinking he would call me when he got a chance. He did much better than that... He showed up at my business the following morning with a new photo-electric sensor in his hand. He went to inspect the light and sensor and determined that the sensor was faulty. He replaced it and everything worked fine again. When it came to settle up the bill he said don't worry about it since he thought the supply house would be able to warranty the sensor. Obviously he can not work for free even if the part was covered but this just goes to show his integrity and business ethic. I think he knows in the long run he is a winner because I will always call him for my electrical needs and will certainly refer him to anybody I know who needs electrical work. A true professional and gentleman!

 + 1 morePerfectly. But the above was only the latest experience with Shamrock. I was first introduced to Mike by the general contractor who did the renovation of our home in 2006/2007. That GC has unfortunately retired but all the sub contractors he brought in were superb. It was like an all-star team. Mike/Shamrock did all the electrical work for the renovation, which was extensive. We added a second floor to the house and basically updated the whole rest of the house. Mike was there for every step from new wiring in the walls through light fixtures and ceiling fans as well as the cable and internet wiring etc. I was very impressed with Mike's attitude and professionalism throughout that big job. Very nice and cool under pressure. We made a point of keeping his contact information and calling on him for any little jobs that have come up, such as new outdoor outlets and pool filter connections. I highly recommend this guy.
Description of Work: This latest job was maintenance and repair to the electrical feed to my pool filter and heater.

MIKE CAME OVER TO SEE WHAT NEEDED TO BE DONE. HE KNEW RIGHT AWAY WHAT TO DO and PRICE WAS WHAT I EXPECTED. WE SET UP THE APPOINTMENT WHEN IT WAS GOOD WITH ME A FEW DAYS LATER. WHEN HE WAS RUNNING LATE HE CALLED TO LET ME KNOW. MIKE HAS IN THE PAST DONE WORK FOR ME WHEN I BUILT AN APARTMENT FOR MY MOM and ADDED ON TO MY HOUSE. HE DOES GREAT WORK and CLEANS UP AS IF HE WAS NEVER THERE. I WILL BE CALLING ON HIM FOR FUTURE WORK I NEED IN MY HOME.

We wanted to relocate the service underground and called a few people I know from being in the trades as a plumber. Was a bit shocked at the prices and length of time we were quoted. I decided to call Mike at Shamrock Electric and was very glad I did. His price was very fair, worked within our schedule, and the quality was outstanding.  + 0 moreAs with all of the work Mike has done for us over the last 30 years, the fixture was installed with no problems and he packed the old fixture up an placed it and the packing material away for us. He also took care of our other lighting issues. Mike returned 2 weeks later to adjust the height of the new kitchen light (at my wife's request) and within 10 minutes lowered the light. My wife loves her new fixture.
Description of Work: Took down old And installed new lighting fixture over our kitchen table as well as making some adjustments to the light over our kitchen sink and our portico light.

Description of Work: Michael is the owner and did the work himself. I had him add 4 outdoor outlets all around the yard so I could add landscape lighting. He also installed a outdoor post and lantern. Finally he replaced a damaged cap where the main electric line connects to the house.

In 2004 I did a complete renovation to my house which included adding a second level, reconfiguring the entire floor plan on the first floor which included bumping out the kitchen. We had added an additional 1,700 square feet to our existing house. Shamrock Electric was the electrician that my general contractor had used. From the first time I met him I was impressed with his professionalism and patience and immediately felt a sense of confidence. The work that he performed was major since he ran an underground line from the LIPA pole to my meter ( I didn't want overhead wires in my backyard), installed a new 200 amp service, rewired the entire house from scratch, installed a complete media center panel and wired all the phone lines. I admit that I am difficult to please and a perfectionist to a fault. The service and quality of work that Shamrock Electric provided were well beyond my high expectations. I remember thinking to myself that the wiring in the walls was so neat it was like artwork and almost a shame to hide with sheetrock. Needless to say, Shamrock Electric is my first and only call for any electrical work that I have needed for my home or my business. Unfortunately, we all hear many horror stories from people who have had bad experiences with contractors, however, I have to say Shamrock Electric certainly stands apart from the rest.
Description of Work: They installed an electrical box and ran power to it in my living room ceiling to accommodate a ceiling fan (which I have not purchased yet) and installed a fan controller switch. They also installed an electrical outlet right under my cordless phone in kitchen so that the power cord from phone did not have to run 6 feet or so to the nearest outlet. Additionally, they installed dimmers for my outside lights.

His workmanship was top notch-- used high quality materials (switches, cabinet lighting, etc.). He always asked us about exactly where we wanted a switch, which type of light (e.g. color), and explained the pros/cons of each choice as appropriate. He brought other items to our attention (e.g. broken attic fan), but did not try to up sell us. Rather he asked if we would like him to fix certain items as needed. We had other work going on in the house (e.g. painting, crown molding installation, flooring) and Mike worked seamlessly with the other contractor involved. His pricing was fair, reasonable, and competitive. I would gladly use him again and highly recommend him.
Description of Work: Mike performed several indoor and outdoor services. Outdoor: Changed outdoor outlet to GFI, converted old pool outlet from 220V to 110V, installed five motion lights with switches, moved spot lights.
