Bob came to my house to give me an estimate. He was honest about how he thought my job should go. He exceeded my expectations and I can’t get over how good the work he did looks. I am very happy and can’t wait for him to start my next project.
Description of Work: He finished my unfinished basement. He framed windows and sheet rocked. He laid flooring, built shelves and painted.
Bob and his guys at Unique Interior Finishes brought their A-game to our recent renovation. We read Yelp, Home Advisor and Angie’s list reviews and expected great things. We were not let down. Bob's team is friendly and on-time. They were friendly and happy to answer questions. Some electrical concerns arose in our older home and they walked us through options keeping us safe and under budget. They are very much focused on the client. UIF gutted and finished a two-floor apartment including bathroom and kitchen. We were not the easiest clients; changing our minds while on a tight schedule. Bob was on the job site every day. He brought with him a level of professionalism and organization to every aspect of the project. His estimate was spot-on as far as time frame and budget. Bob works with integrity at a fair price. UIF is not just some handyman. Every inch of the apartment is just as we had hoped. Which means a rental property we could be proud of. Unique Interior Finishes will meet/ beat competitors estimates. We have recommended them to friends and Family. We hope to have Bob & Co back on our next project.
My shelving is falling apart and all electrical work needs to be redone. The switches are not flush with the wall and neither are the light fixtures. The floors weren't put down correctly and had to get them fixed by a professional. Also, my doors are not on straight and are scraping against the floor.

I only met [Member Name Removed] 2 time when he hired me and when he gave me the last check, He would send me about [Member Information Removed] text messages every day with thoughts and changes. He picked a cheap floor and after it was installed he was un happy with it not how it was installed. My electrician is very good at what he does and i can assure you that all electric that was done to code and perfect when i was given the final check.

Great experience from beginning to end. Very professional, and did a great job!
Couldn't have gone better! If you are tired of contractors who are unreliable, overpriced, and don't deliver give RGD a call. Bob and his crew refinished our basement. They were great to deal with from start to finish. My wife and I couldn't be happier with the results. Our dank, and unfinished basement turned out so well that I contemplated making it my master bedroom instead of a playroom. Every step of work was given careful thought and completed with meticulous detail. We have a lot of projects that we'd like to finish and it's a great feeling to have someone who you trust to do all of the work. I will definitely use RGD again and give them my highest recommendation.
Description of Work: I had my basement finished and included a full bath.
We love our new finished basement! Bob is fantastic! He and his crew were polite, punctuate, clean, and knowledgeable. They started with a completely unfinished basement, and now we have a beautiful playroom, laundry room, bathroom, and plenty of storage space! Bob paid great attention to detail and is extremely fair and honest. Bob made himself very available through phone calls, texts, and emails. Everything from the drywall, painting, lighting, doors, new stairs(!), bathroom, custom closet shelves, and even soundproofing came out amazing. We couldn't be happier! Thank you Bob!
Description of Work: Basement Finishing / Remodeling
I am thrilled with my new finished basement. Bob and his crew gutted and finished my basement quickly, professionally and immaculately. My family and I love to be down there, whether we're playing games, watching movies in our new theater room or I'm doing laundry. What used to be a dingy basement is now a place we love to be. I have already recommended Bob and his team to friends and family and would use them again.

My experience with Bob went from great to bad. When I first met Bob, I explained that I had a certain budget which I needed to have a basement remodel done. He was friendly and went over many options with me to help provide the basement I wanted, yet keep costs down. I would like to add that I work and was usually not home when Bob completed most of the work, which proved to be a problem. As such, my overall experience with Bob was poor, and I would be unable to recommend him. The first indication of a problem that I should have picked up on was that Bob started my project prior to finishing other projects. As time would prove, he started other projects before he finished mine, and it created a situation where corrections of work done in my basement became problematic. He no longer was able to come back right away and correct the issues, rather he would come back here and there over several days. Again, he usually came while I was at work, and as such, I had to text and email him about the corrections. Essentially, I was not able to show him what I wanted corrected, and this caused stress on me, and issues to not be resolved for several visits. (In the end, he had "misplaced" the initial email with the corrections, which I had to resend a week and a half after it was originally sent). The main problem with Bob was his spackle job. This was new construction, and the walls should be smooth. He had to come back and fix several cracks in joint lines (after the paint was already on). In addition, I have noticed several more cracks along joint lines in the walls. Spackle was sloppy and not properly sanded down on corners and near edges. You can even see the spackle lines along the walls because it was not properly sanded down. Bob replaced every electrical outlet in my basement, with the exception of the dryer outlet. What he did was place the dryer outlet on top of sheetrock, with the main electrical wire being placed on top of the sheetrock, and told me it was finished. After indicating to him I was not happy with how he "finished" the job, he told me "well that it the outlet you provided me with." If he replaced every other outlet in my basement, why not replace this one as well? His electrician told me he would get the new parts and complete, but Bob clearly instructed him otherwise. The finished product looks less than stellar, and Bob's reaction was "well it is hidden and you'll never see it". Other areas of concern: 1) My storage closet was hastily painted, as the grey of the sheetrock can still be seen in spots. 2) The electrical boxes surrounding the TV are loose and were hastily done. 3) Tiles on the floor are cracked and nicked in spots. 4) One light fixture in the bathroom was not centered above the sink/mirror and when I mentioned it to him, he said it was unable to be moved because it was attached to a stud! I consulted with another contractor who said that Bob was being less than honest, and could easily move the light so it would be centered. When I told Bob that, he said he would fix it! 5) Light fixtures, smoke detectors, etc. were painted around (which the paint is visible, and as new construction, they should not have been fully assembled until the painting was done. 6) I noticed that as my basement project started to get closer to completion, Bob would not put in a full days work at my house, as he was already going to other houses to begin/continue work on those houses. The stairs were hastily done, and look unprofessional and unfinished. Bob even offered to refund me the cost of the materials, $300, because it was not done correctly. He refused to fix them, as he said it would not be cost effective for his time. I was so fed up with his being less than honest/truthful with me regarding what he claimed he "couldn't fix" that I could not wait for him to finish the project. As it needed up, Bob never cleaned the basement to show me what a professional clean project he did. I just finished sweeping and mopping sparkle dust from the walls, ledges, and floor, and I had to personally clean my bathroom. You would think a professional would do these things to highlight his work. In the end, Bob initially refused to "refund" me the $300 for materials for the stairs because he figured we were even because of the time spent coming back and correcting his mistakes! Can you imagine that! A contractor makes mistakes, many of which were glaring, you want him to fix them before the project is over, and he wants money to correct things that should never have been a problem to begin with! Even from the first moment I pointed things out to Bob, he complained about having to do the repairs. I guess he was already invested in another project, and just wanted his money. I needed a basement done on a particular budget, but I expected the budget to be met with professional quality work. Unfortunately I did not get that from Bob, and as such, I cannot recommend him for basement work, especially painting and sparkle.

This basement turned out beautiful. The customer wanted me to start her basement very quickly so when i was working a few blocks away my crew and i came over and demo the basement and i had my tile guy tile her entire basement about 750 sq ft. Then when we finished the other basement 2 weeks later we started her basement and worked there till it was complete 4 weeks later. We put in a full bathroom with a shower a separate laundry room with 3 shelves on one side and a huge shelf above her machines, it was a beautiful laundry room. Under the stairs we built a nook 6ft long and 3 ft wide where a bed slid into the spot , complete with a light on a dimmer and a book shelf. It was a really great spot for reading. We took out 2 columns and put in a 14 foot lam beam to open up the rest of the room. Behind the bed nook i built a storage closet about 10 x 10 ft and built 3 shelves 8 ft long by 2 ft deep. I and my crew worked very ho*** ** her basement and by the end of the job she was a very difficult person. Every once in a while we all run into people who are difficult and she was one of them. I'm the kind of guy that can't sleep at night if i don't do the right thing and i did all i could to accommodate her but she always found a reason to be unhappy.

We couldn't be happier with the finished product! Bob has a terrific work ethic and is a true craftsman. He worked on our basement as if it was his own-with great patience and attention to detail. Bob communicated with us every step of the way and offered wonderful suggestions/vision that we incorporated into our design. He did everything for our renovation including; drywall, door and window installation, lighting, stairs/railing, moldings, painting and more. He showed up on time and cleaned up after himself daily. We absolutely love our new basement! Bottom line, Bob is a really good guy and does an incredible job.

Prompt, clean work. Helped us keep costs down. Very good job. We're pleased.
Description of Work: Finished basement paneling replace & repair, molding, paint, ceiling tiles. Clean-up after water damage.
We love using our finished basement. The process was smooth. They were neat, clean and professional; there were no issues.
Description of Work: RGD Construction framed out our basement, sheetrocked the walls, put ceiling tiles and recessed lighting. They made a huge cedar closet for storage which we love. They even hid a dehumidifier in one of the walls for us. Bob met us at the store to help pick out all that was necessary to finish our basement, which we are thankful for - he made the process enjoyable instead of stressful. I highly recommend RGD Construction and we look forward to using them again for our next project.
He studded the basement, sheet rocked, spackled put molding all around. Walls, painted walls. Built a in wall wine rack (witch came out nice)looks great. Worked clean and efficiently. Was pleased with the over all job.
