Clear River Environmental

This was our second time working with Clear River Environmental. They installed our new septic tank and leaching pool over a year ago for $7200. I was hesitant to use them again due to their lack of communication with regards to follow-up documents which were required by the Health Department. They attributed their lack of sending me the "as-builts" and other required certifications to having switched over their computers to a new system. Nevertheless, the issue was eventually resolved after numerous calls to their office. Fast forward to 11/19/20....I called them to install a future expansion pool which was required by the Health Department. I figured that they were at least familiar with the property and I had no complaints with the actual install from last time. Long story short...they cut through a gas line to our pool which necessitated a call to National Grid. They also destroyed large branches from a tree, a large portion of recently installed sod, as well as pavers and the curb cutout. Granted all of this damage is listed on their disclaimer, however I was a bit dismayed when they refused to compensate me for any of the bill that was required to do repair work. I understand that the owner is responsible for informing the seller of "underground perils," however I would also expect the professionals to ask the right questions before beginning a job. I would also expect professionals to consider something more than just the "repeat customer" discount to alleviate the buyer from some of the expense and stress caused by the damage of the gas line. This second job cost $5,300. Total money paid to Clear River Environmental = $12,500 . The repair to gas line cost me $900 . The pavers and curb have yet to be repaired.

They did a great job, they were excellent, we watched the whole process, and he was incredibly good. everybody was great at their work, they put back everything as it was before the work and they were just great.

It didn't go well. We experienced this back up into our shower late afternoon. We called Clear River to come (it was after normal business hours) and they arrived about 1 hour later. Dan came and asked if we wanted him to check to see if the cesspool was full or to start Roto Rooting it. We had no idea what he should do first, so he begin Roto Rooting from the outside. This didn't seem to be working, so he told us that someone had to come back the next day since his equipment that locates the cesspool wasn't working and that he didn't have the tools to Roto Root through the shower. He told me to call them first thing in the morning to ask someone to come the following day (we have no use of our toilet and a family of 6). I called at 8:00am the next morning and they told me that they already knew about our situation and that someone would be here shortly. I was told by the secretary that the guy that was coming, however he had to give an estimate for a potential customer, and it was about 20 minutes away from us. She assured me that he would be here in a short time. I called them an hour later to make sure that they were still on track (again, we have a family of 6 and can't use our bathroom which the service guy knew last night). She said that the estimate turned out to be a job for them and that they were doing the job right there. 3 hours later they still haven't come. I asked if there was anyone else that can come and she said he will be there shortly (now over 3 hours later). I was a bit upset being that we cannot use our toilet for over 24 hours and that even with this emergency, an estimate was taken care of first (which also turned into a job for them) before having someone come to help us have a working toilet. The guy they sent did not have a working tool to locate my cellpool and started digging holes around the front lawn to try to find it. He also didn't have the tool to Roto Root through the shower. I was asked the night before to pay for a service that wasn't done ($395). When I spoke to a man at the office, he made it seem as though I was more important than everyone else and was very unprofessional. I would NEVER use this company again. Called another company who had the tools to complete the job and took care of things quickly,

I had a back up at my house and it was the first time i ever had it serviced, Clear River was very professional from start to finish, they got too my house in a timely fashion and they did a great service at a great price, would highly recommend..
