A. Drori and Sons Antique restoration

After three years of use by my college-aged son a prized hardwood chair was looking very well-used; the pain was scratched and chipped, stenciled lettering was worn away, and the poor chair just looked sad and bedraggled. I just got it back yesterday and it looks as close to brand-new as it can get - Matthew was even able to obtain the right stencils and paint to match the font and color of the lettering perfectly. The chair is now back in my home office beneath the reading light and has already been in use. Throughout, Matthew was perfectly professional and, when there were delays (it took a while to get the stencils) he let me know what was going on. At times, response to my email inquiries was delayed, but I never felt out-of-touch or ignored, and the last few years my own replies to emails have been delayed as well. Matthew was also kind enough to pick the chair up at my apartment and to drop it off again when work was completed. I'll use them again the next time I have work of this sort that needs to be done.

Matthew came to look at my furniture & told me that all I needed was for him to re-tie the springs and replace the webbing under each item, which he would do in my home for $500. He came with his father, Alex. They did not re-tie any springs. They removed the thin fabric covering the bottom of the sofa and chair, leaving staples all over my home. They did not remove the old webbing. They just stapled new webbing on top of the old webbing. I paid them. But their work did nothing to fix the initial problem. Both the sofa and chair was in the same condition as when Matthew first looked at them. When I complained, Alex came back. This time, he said that to fix the problem required taking the entire sofa and chair apart (as for reupholstery) to replaced the padding on top of the springs (under the cushions). In short, they charged me $500 to do less than the work they promised (they never re-tied any of the springs-- nor could they have because they couldn't access them because they didn't remove the old webbing!), for work they KNEW would not fix the problem. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They WILL SCAM you.

There was an initial visit in the summer, paid a deposit (half the job) then a long delay. Jonathan Drori came by with some sample straps and then was never heard from again. Further attempts to reach him (as of December) were unsuccessful and I had to cancel the job. He never returned the buckles for the chair straps.

They were very honest and have been wonderful with the estimate process.

Fantastic! This was for an important design client and we are not even in the same state as the customer. Jonathan called within minutes of me submitting the request for repair. The client said Jonathan was professional and did an amazing job. Jonathan continued to reach out during the project.
