I wrongly assumed that, since we had heard nothing from the Corsaros since Feb 2011 that the contract had ended and contacted a wonderful realtor, Cathy Leal, with ReMax who sold us a perfect house in November 2011 with a closing date in early April. In January 2012 I received an email from Mr Corsaro telling me we were still under contract to him and demanding 3% of the purchase price of our new house. I understand that a contract is legally binding but considering they showed us one house and spent under two hours with us, this seemed unethical and unreasonable in the extreme--also the fact that the contract was valid for a whole year was unusual, coupled with having no personal communication from either Corsaro. We paid them $2000--their pound of flesh--( as senior citizens on small pensions money we could ill afford) and I wrote to Keller Williams but received no reply. So buyers beware! If you want a good friendly house buying experience go to Cathy Leal at ReMax on Monroe Ave
Description of Work: We were looking for a home in Rochester,NY while looking for a home in Kentucky Saw a house online and contacted William and Christine Corsaro with Keller Williams We drove the roughly 800 miles to meet with them and be shown some properties but before that could happen we had to sign a contract They showed us 1 house and spent under 2 hours with us (including coffee at Panera--which we paid for ourselves and signing the contract) I explained that this was a exploratory trip and that, although we were serious buyers, we wouldn't be able to move for at least a year but please to stay in touch and continue to send us information on houses appropriate to our needs. After Feb 17th I had no more emails from Ms Corsaro although I did get lists of mostly unsuitable houses from every realtor in Rochester and possibly from her. Nothing else was done for us by the Corsaros
