Description of Work: Front Foundation Landscape Renovation for my colonial home. The old shrubs were removed, bed preparation done, provided and installed plant material per plan. Mulched new area, completely restored damaged lawn area. | |Tom F. was my landscape designer, he drew two detailed plans complete with photos of the plants. I had some ideas that I voiced and he gladly and willingly incorporated them in my plan. He had me walk through the nursery, showed me different plants, pointed out many that I was unfamiliar with that I really liked. | |My old shrubs had been planted over 30 years ago by Van Puttes so I, and my family have been customers of theirs for many years. | |I am extremely pleased with the outcome. The work took two days. The workmen were very professional, hard working, pleasant and my questions were answered thoroughly. Tom staged the plants before they were planted so I was able to see exactly how it would look before any plantings were done. | |Van Putte's earn their well deserved reputation. Their products and services are top of the line. As I said, I am extremely happy with my new landscaping. From the compliments I've heard, so are my neighbors, family and friends.

Description of Work: We contacted Van Putte's because they had high marks and we had had lots of disappointments with landscapers. The estimator took my information mid-June and told me that we would have to wait until July 16 for them to estimate our job. That was fine with us as we anticipated it and had other projects that needed completion first. July 16 came and went and calls to their phone mail went unanswered. As suspected, they overcommitted to commercial jobs. They really need to get out of the Residential business if they have no intention of taking these jobs in the summer/fall. Or hire more people. Really unprofessional.

Description of Work: Provided a quote for hardscapes and landscaping and lawn installation. We worked with Bret - he was extremely responsive and detailed. We worked with 3 vendors to get quotes, but Bret's design was the best for our property and for ourselves. Honestly, all vendors were very responsive, just that Van Putte, actually Bret in particular, was so very helpful. He took a lot of time to understand what we wanted, worked hard to try and get the project in at our budget and answered 100s of our questions. We look forward to the installation to begin (some time in May).

Description of Work: Create a berm with plantings. Plantings included a 7' Pink Dogwood, 3 different color Azela bushes, snowball bush, two other bushes & hostas. Included topsoil, "Preen weed preventive , 2 large decorative stones, and mulch. Note: Date indicated is approximate, not certain of exact date.

Description of Work: Van Putte came out and gave me an estimate to redo all our front landscaping and walkway. Took a few weeks to get the plans. In the meantime we had four other estimates. We chose Van Putte because of their reputation and we liked the design the best. The entire landscape design and walkway was changed from how we had it. They did incorporate the few trees/plants we wanted to keep. We also wanted outside path/garden lights. Took them several weeks before they could start and then another few weeks to completely finish the job. We love it!! The work is high quality and looks perfect! Only problem is they recommended no weed barrier. They did put down Preen but we have a lot of weeds coming up. I am going to have more mulch put down. Other than that we are very happy with their work and would definitely recommend them to others!

Description of Work: Called for an estimate for landscaping our front and side yard. Was told on the phone the designer would call back shortly to make an appointment. I heard nothing for 2 weeks. Designer finally called and apologized for the delay. Came to estimate the job 3 days later. Said he would get back to be with an estimate and drawings based on our discussions. Two weeks later I got an email saying they wouldn't have time to do my job because they were too busy with their commercial jobs. I had used this company once before but their services were through my builder. They were more expensive than most others, but did the job well. That's why I called them again. But I will NEVER use them or recommend them. I can understand if they have too many bookings, but they should have the good business sense to mention it right away. Now I've missed the chance to plant my yard this fall!! Will have to wait until spring. Maybe Van Putte could put a few more folks to work and they could handle both Residential and Commercial projects.

Description of Work: Based on work I had seen at the house across the street some years ago, we asked them to provide a plan and an estimate for re-landscaping our small front yard. Landscape designer Marcy Wittman was assigned to the task, showed up on schedule to view and measure our property, and produced a viable plan earlier than promised. We considered some modifications to the plan, but eventually decided against proceeding until a large oak tree on the property has been trimmed, since that will significantly affect the amount of sun available daily (and thus, the choice of plants for the landscaping).

Description of Work: (1) Created a berm, installed dogwood tree, several bushes, plants & rocks. Covered with topsoil, & black roundcover. (2) Brought on topsoil and seeded area.

Description of Work: They came to our house twice for a personal design consultation. We contracted with them to do the hardscaping, which entails the rocks, stones, walkways, raised beds, and clearing sod. We bought about half of the plants from them, which is included in the $4800 charge. We used their design and they planted everything for us, except for the other half of the plants we did not purchase from them.
