Terminix - Rochester -Termite & Pest Control

Not well. Terminix sent out a sales person,Brad, who couldn’t identify the bugs, took samples back to the office and said his sales mgr who he said had 25 yrs of experience, a degree in entomology, and would get back in touch. Before leaving the house he tried to sell us on a contract for spraying the outside of the house! Needless to say no call ever came and today, 6 days post the Brad visit, we received an 800 call from Terminix asking me how things were going. I don’t need to tell you what I told the operator! Run, don’t walk, away from this company.

For the last two years, I have had an invasion of yellow jackets into small crevices on the exterior of the house. I contacted Terminix and they notified me that the treatment of the yellow jackets was something that my contract covered. Six appointments were scheduled over the course of five months. The first Terminix representative stated that he was "very scared of heights and couldn't go on the roof." The second Terminix agent that showed up to the house stated that "I don't ride with a ladder." The third scheduled appt was a no-show and the fourth scheduled appointment resulted in a different agent showing up and doing a mild spray and he told me to contact him on his mobile phone number to get the rest of the job done. I attempted to contact the agent, as requested, on his mobile phone and he never responded back. The fifth apt was scheduled with an office manager who never showed up. Mind you, I am a physician and canceling patients for this incredibly poor service and incredibly poor professionalism.

I actually signed up for a control service which is for a year which covers my termites, roaches and mostly any pests. So it's an $83 per month payment for a year. There was some miscommunication. I called them several times and they never called me for the following day appointment till like 8:00 o'clock the night before the appointment, so that was disappointing to me. Probably I'm going to like a program where you can pay monthly to control and if you need them to come out, they come out, I think that's a pretty good program. I've been using them for just a couple of months.

If I ever call them they come out quickly.

Two weeks ago, I had a situation where a wrapped porch post rotted through. It was a support post. In a panic, I called the people who did my siding 12 years before. At first, they told me that they were fully booked for weeks, but because of our past history, they pulled their guy off a job to come out and remedy the situation on Friday morning. He only had that day and part of the next morning available. He came out and pulled both porch posts, only to discover a carpenter ant infestation at the top of the corner post. Obviously, he did not want to seal that area up before that issue was taken care of. I had a flyer handy that had recently come in the mail, so I called Terminix. I explained the urgency of the situation--that if they couldn't come out within that time frame, I would be stuck for weeks before I could have the repairs to my posts done. They assured me that, although they couldn't come out that day, someone would be there between 9am and noon the next day. I called their liasons twice to see if there was any way someone could come sooner or at least at the earliest hour. The girl told me that she would tag my request and couldn't guarantee the 9 am slot, but at the latest it would be noon. The following morning, at 9:30 am, their technician calls me and says he wants to come out on Monday instead. Needless to say, I was livid, knowing that time was of the essence in my situation--especially since I could have called someone else in the meantime rather than rely on their guarantee for Saturday morning. I told him in no uncertain terms that I would never do business with them again and started hunting on Angie's List. I found Bug Man, and within less than an hour, they had a man here to take care of the matter, working alongside my construction guy. They were more expensive than Terminix, but their response at the last minute was incredible (they have 24-hour emergency service). They made all the difference in the world and got me out of a very nerve-wracking situation. Thank you, Bug Man! And good riddance to you, Terminix.

Not well, continued to have issues with carpenter bees after several treatments

We are happy with their service. We are not home when they do it but we are happy with the absence of bugs.

They came out the next day to check. Originally, the person on the phone wanted me to sign up for a 1 year contract. The person who came to my house thought that might be a little more than I needed since we are almost at the end of the summer. We talked about price options and found one that would work best for my situation. He treated the problem and guaranteed the work for 30 days.

It's positive. They're prompt and we haven't had any bugs. I would use them again in the future.

Since they began, we have quarterly service and no problems with the ants. We've had the same professional each time and he's always polite, punctual and efficient. They will come in between scheduled visits if any problems arise, which is very helpful. Polite phone manner when we call, which is also beneficial.

Any time we have problems, they are right out taking care of it. They go through all kinds lengths to make sure everything is taken care of, unlike the company I had before. This guy looks for evidence and takes care of it, so I am very satisfied. Their price is average.

I recommend this company. I have been using them for five or six years and I've never had a problem with them. When I have seen insects in between the three month timeframes, the company comes out and resolves the issue. I always feel safe even when they are at home.

They come automatically, and take care of whatever they notice as the problem. They follow up to make sure that their people are doing their jobs. They are very thorough. The overall experience is good. The price is competitive. I find that they are professional. I would absolutely use Terminix in the future.

They have always been good at calling and emailing to remind me of my service date. They come as planned. They provide a really good service that seems to work out well.

I did not like the contract they want you to get into; you can't get out of it. They are overpriced, but money was not the main issue; they wanted to get you on a long term contract. We also found some other issues with them during on line research. I will not use them again in the future.

They did a good job. We had some elder bugs and a couple mice. They use pesticides that are pet and people friendly that won't harm anyone. They also give you a bottle of spray just in case there are a couple that weren't caught in the initial spray but they are always willing to come back if needed at no extra charge.

Everything has been great. Anytime we need to call if we see things, they always come right out to help us. We had a bee issue a couple of years ago and they came right out. They are typically checking the bees inside and out. We will use their services again in the future.

I employed Terminix to resolve a mouse problem. The national 800 number quoted a price for a year contract which was apparently incorrect for a multiple family dwelling - a small converted single family house. The local office contact was reluctant to provide the service at the quoted price but did so. The technician placed bait boxes around the premises but without result. He returned (at my request) for a second visit to place more bait boxes but did not appear to have any notable expertise in the area of varmint control. I ultimately resolved the problem myself using materials from the hardware store. Also, the contract required quarterly visits for exterior insect control - for $250 and something I did not need.

Went very well. Called initially because of an ant problem early in the summer. Company was extremely quick in responding and taking care of the situation as well as reporting promptly when further assistance was needed. Now Terminix comes for their regularly scheduled appointments on time and always asks if there are any additional pest problems that need to be addressed at the house.

They were very easy to work with. Their phone center was efficient. They offered Saturday appointments (important to me) and they showed up on time. The service provider was very professional and provided a good explanation of what he would be doing.

They do a good job, they come and they are efficient. I'm getting ready to renew my annual contract with them. The approximate listed is for a years worth of service.

I have had Terminix for the past two years. I am very pleased with the results from Terminix. I will continue to use them and recommend them.

We had caught the mouse before the appointment, so all Terminix really did was set traps to catch other mice. I wanted to have a better understanding of the point of entry or how they got into my house.

Terminix is great. They come the 4-5 times without us calling them and they are willing to come in between the visits. They were a God sent when they set the mouse trap! We have a contract with them, but I will renew it.
