About us

We are a Rochester, New York based Upholstery Shop conveniently located at 630 West Ridge Road, Rochester NY 14615 on Route 104. We’ve been fortunate to grow and expand into our present 20,000 square foot facility location. We offer complete upholstery services for Auto, Commercial, Residential and Marine.Our specialties are customizing, restoration and upgrading. We remove, recover or refurbish anything with fabric and provide furniture structural repair and stabilization. We work with all fine upholstered fabrics, leathers, vinyls, and canvas.

They did my 1923 ford t bucket and it came out absolutely amazing with a quick turn around and great price!! Will definitely bring back more cars. 100% recommended

Sofa upholstery needed repair. Price seemed a little high, but we agreed to it. Good craftsmanship costs money. But - within just a couple of months, one seam that didn't appear to have been knotted right in the first place started to come apart. Owner is insisting on charging again to come out to fix it. He'll tell you we agreed that there was no guarantee on his work, and that's true - but that assumes it was done competently in the first place, which this didn't appear to be, considering how quickly it came undone. I always want to support local artisans, and I get that they can't guarantee the work over the long term - but to refuse to even consider that it wasn't done right in the first place is problematic, to say the least. I'll look elsewhere next time.

On October 16, Snyder Upholstery, in good faith, came to your home to HAND sew several holes in your sofa. We did not increase the invoice when your holes were larger and more in number than expected, although we had discussed that possibilty in our emails with your wife. Being very understanding of the difficult times we are all living in, we were hoping to help you keep your older sofa for a while longer, until you were ready to purchase new. In good faith, Snyder Upholstery explained in writing, that this work was NOT GUARANTEED. Your wife still agreed to have this work completed. Upon completion of the job, when you and your wife paid the invoice, you accepted the repair as having been performed professionally, and again agreed that this work was not guaranteed. In our emails, which we have on file, when your wife specifically asked about a guarantee on September 30, 2020 5:10pm: "Would that price include any other tears? Those are the big ones but it’s possible we may find a few tiny ones. And is there any kind of warranty or guarantee?" Our response at 5:18 that same day was: "We can adjust pricing if we need to if the tears are too large. These will be hand stitched, and we cannot guarantee. Obviously, we will do the best professional work. Thank you" Hand stitching on upholstery simply cannot be guaranteed; especially when the furniture gets daily use as your wife indicated yours does in her first phone call/contact with us. Threads will come loose; knots will come un-knotted. We employ professional upholsterers with years of experience from all over the world. We pride ourselves on quality workmanship and fair business practices. This was not bad workmanship; simply the effects of a short-term, non-guaranteed repair; the exact repair you agreed to. In good faith, Snyder Upholstery has offered to come back out and do an additional repair, also not guaranteed, at a significantly reduced price. We are still happy to do so. We wish you and yours a Happy and Healthy Holiday Season, New Year.
