Description of Work: The guys sent out to do the moving for me were phenomenal. Pleasant, friendly and worked incredibly quick. I was just a bit disappointed with the cost. I felt it was bit too expensive for the little bit I had to move. Ended up being almost 175$ more than I planned for.

Description of Work: While the crews were quite good (with the exception of some members of the packing crew), some damage occurred. Our real complaint comes from the stonewalling we got from Sheridan Bros. regarding the damages. We had to resort to our attorney (at a cost to us of $500)to get resolution. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND SHERIDAN BROS. TO ANYONE.

Description of Work: Three energetic, pleasant professional guys came at 8 a.m. to move a 2 story home to a single story home 200 miles away. (Home had rooms full of fine furniture and dozens of boxes). They disassembled and reassembled furniture as required. They were quick and efficient! I was very pleased.

Description of Work: Horrific experience. I moved across town from Pittsford to Perinton--left a 3300 square foot house and went into a 2100 square foot house. The owner himself came out & did the estimate. He indicated he would have 4 guys doing the job and estimated it would take just a few hours and cost about $800. We had a specific conversation about moving my grandfather clock and washer & dryer while he was out on his estimate. On moving day TWO guys showed up and only at my persistence got another to join them. It took the guys until 9pm to remove the contents of my house, we had an argument about moving the grandfather clock & washer and dryer--neither were on their paperwork, and they left my Weber gas grill at the old house as well as ALL of the clothes in my master bedroom closet. My fiancé and I had to move the leftover items, and I was not out of the old house after cleaning & vacuuming until close to 11pm. The carelessness of the owner in doing his estimate, missing his quote by over 50%, and the movers leaving items behind was unprofessional, unacceptable, and shocking. I would never refer this company.

Description of Work: I had arranged to have them move me from an apartment in the same complex two weeks before-they informed they only had one date available. I took a vacation day off mid week to do. They called the evening before to say they could not do the move in the am as arranged but they would do at 1pm. I never heard from them again the next day- at 200pm I called I got an answering machine, left message to call. I called again at 230pm and 300pm line was busy or no anwer. I finally reached them at 415pm- they informed me that I would have to do the move the next day. I explained I could not as my lease was up that day and this was the only day they had available to give me. meanwhile the weather had changed into pouring rain. When I pushed the issue she told me they would try and round up another crew to do. I still waited until after 5pm when they arrived. They came with 5 crew people and moved me in and out in 45minutes.That was great. Charged me the rate that I was quoted-but instead of having 2 people to tip I had five- personally I didnt want to do that- but they did do it in the pouring rain-two on the crew were not polite. Obviousely I was not impressed and of course I could not find someone else to move me on that day. otherwise I would have never pursued having them complete the job.

Description of Work: We called on a Tuesday afternoon and were able to arrange a team to move a piano off a U-Haul into our house the next morning. The rep on the phone was knowledgable and helpful. The team arrived a minute or two early, shoveled the walkway they chose to use, which was very nice as we were going to do it, and skillfully took care of the job in short order. They were friendly and upbeat throughout despite working in a winter storm. Highly recommend and would hire again.

Description of Work: Had them pack and move us. They showed up late for packing and with only one person to do the job when we were promised 2. Then proceeded to spill coffee on our suede chair, and of note, they never replaced this or compensated us. when unpacking they had damaged several of our items, including breaking our kitchen table, deep scratches in our bed frame, ruining one of our large wedding photos, damage to walls at our previous home ect. When told about these things being broken, they had people who came to fix these things, which required us being home for all of them to come and do the work. When the bill came the price was over the original estimate. We called and told them we felt this was inappropriate and we were told there was nothing they would do to lower the bill.

+ -1 moreMy mother in law passed away unexpectedly, so we had to pack up her belongings and move them to our place. It was a long, taxing process to get her stuff packed, and she had a _lot_ of heavy wooden hand-crafted furniture. We decided at last to hire professionals to bring it back to Rochester. I called them up on Wednesday, not thinking I'd be able to find movers for the weekend that late. They were very friendly, told me that they could get there between 2-3:00 on Saturday. Perfect. They called back a little later and said that they could even get us a morning slot if we preferred. (Due to the travel time and some last minute sorting that had to happen, we stuck with the afternoon slot.) Their price was $90/hr, and they charged for travel time out to Newark, which I thought was perfectly fair. Saturday arrives. I still have half a room to finish up, and we decide to head out early. Just as we finish breakfast and are ready to head out, we get a call. They'd finished up their previous job early, and were willing to come right out to Newark to get to work. We agreed to meet them out there, and beat them there by only 15 minutes or so. They finagled the truck into a good position on a narrow street, and got to work. As I packed up the last of it, they were moving. Two guys emptied that apartment faster than I thought would be possible. I barely had time to finish up packing three boxes before they were ready to empty the room I was in. I was very impressed with their speed, their professionalism, and their very good senses of humor. They even handled me getting a bit overwhelmed and confused very patiently. They took no breaks outside of restroom breaks, and were on the road in about an hour total. On the way back, we needed to drop one of the sofas at my mother's place a few blocks from our home. Again, they maneuvered through a very narrow, snow-impacted side street with only a few hiccups trying to get close enough to the house (there were cars parked in front of the house near the driveway.) We get to our house. Unfortunately, our across the street neighbors were having a party, so there were a bunch of cars on the street. They asked one set of neighbors if they could use their driveway for a bit, very politely, and got access that way to unload the house-bound items. We talked to the across-the-way neighbor, who moved a car so they could negotiate into our driveway to unload into the garage. Again, they worked very quickly with minimal breaks (restroom only) I was honestly expecting a 6-8 hour affair, and received a 5 hour breeze, including travel time. Everything made it to their destinations safely and intact. I cannot express how much my husband and I enjoyed working with these guys. Start to finish, they were fantastic to deal with. Polite, cordial, professional, skilled, and FAST.
Description of Work: They moved a very full apartment from Newark to Rochester (about 45 mins travel time each way) in just under 5 hours. Lots of heavy oak furniture, lots of boxes of fragile things. We had little space to pack it all into, and they did an amazing job of playing furniture Tetris to get it all in, securely and safely.
