The job was done in time and completed in a day but they left a major problem for me. The entrance to my kitchen now has a horrible squeak in the floor as you enter the room. The squeak did not exist before. They even sent two of their employees out to ***** the problem and BOTH agreed that the squeak should not be there. After months of communicating with the BBB, they even recommended that I take them to small claims court. I have contacted others who have used them and their complaints are similar. They said they would come out and replace the floor but if they find that it wasn't their fault, I would have to pay them again. The squeak wasn't there before they came and was there when they left. You tell me! My response: Replace the floor at your cost or give my my money back so I can go to a reputable company. You are all invited to my house to hear the squeak that drives everyone crazy! Horrible company to do business with!
Description of Work: Due to water damage, I had to replace my linoleum and Luan plywood.

Description of Work: Purchased carpeting for stairs and den. Delays in carpet order. Stair carpeting arrived and not bound correctly. Had to reschedule another install. Den carpeting delayed after multiple calls they located the order that was sitting in the warehouse. Needed to have the den carpeting stretched. Called advised because it was 2 months beyond warranty period the cost would be $150 plus service call of $50. I requested to speak with Andre the Service Manager. I left three messages. He never returned my call. Went to store in Webster to speak with Manager. No one in authority available but promised to send message to service manager to contact me. No one extended the courtesy of a call back. Their customer service scores an F with me. Clearly they don't rely on repeat business.

Everyone was nice enough, but every step has been characterized by delays and rework. Job 1: delayed due to scheduling error. I am expected to seal the stone floor myself -- not included (or offered) in $4500 job! Job 2: no one spec'd the job correctly. Delays. Rework. "Finished" job now reveals that baseboard was removed and not replaced. Fantastically expensive. Clearly do not understand how to do customized installations. Job 3: sink faucet not installed by plumber... subsequent leaking, trip lever does not work, poor installation overall. An actual plumber is required to come back and do the job correctly What were supposed to be wonderful, beautiful projects have left me feeling bitter and ripped off.

Dec 2014 to Jan 2015: For a 20'x10' room it took SEVEN visits to get the job done. They even charged me for work they originally agreed to do, but never actually did. Installers showed up multiple times without the proper materials or even an understanding of special considerations for the job that needed to be done. I believe that's the fault of whoever runs the service department as the installers weren't told what the job entailed, even though they sent somebody out ahead of time to take notes/measurements. I've gotten the run-around from them for weeks on getting the refunded for the work they didn't do, and I've given up and just filed a dispute with my credit card company. One possible explanation is they are operating like its the 1980's. All forms are carbon copy, nothing is done on a computer. Work orders are filled out by hand, and if a mistake is made filling it out they have to start over. This is probably why the service department has no idea what's going on. I imagine its just piles of paper everywhere. It's really not worth the aggravation. 3-31-2016: 1 year later they just threatened me with legal action over the amount that I was forced to dispute with my credit card company, which was $300 (out of a $2500 job) for not leveling the floor before installing hardwoods over the top. ONE YEAR later! They had 30 days from when I filed the dispute, to dispute that themselves. I guess it took them a whole year to find the letter from my credit card company. Think twice before doing business with these people, it'll haunt you long after the job is done.

Description of Work: The Carpet was installed 4 weeks after the initial promise. When called for a new date they kept committing to calling us back and never did. Once the Carpet arrived the installers were very prompt. I can understand delays from the manufacturer, however the service department is not responsive to the customer.

Buyer beware. I purchased three rooms of carpet several months ago. Two rooms were berber. After a couple weeks I noticed run lines down the carpet. Since then there are more run lines along with snags. covering most of the carpet. Neither of the rooms are in high traffic areas. Besides defective carpet the installers carpeted over my cable, did a poor job around corners and cracked several of my baseboards. The third room they carpeted was a spare room that has a freezer in it. I had to pay to have them remove the freezer in order to install the carpet. The installers left without telling me that they broke the vent off the freezer. Several days later I noticed everything in the freezer was iced over. I called a service person and not only did they break the vent they also broke the seal on the freezer hence making everything ice over. We lost hundreds of dollars worth of food that had to be thrown away. I called customer service and they sent someone out to take pictures. This person was going to see if the mill would replace the defective carpet. As far as the freezer went even though it was all ice and the food was frozen solid to the shelves, his response was " at least it's still running". It's been months and I still haven't heard back from Carpet One. The person in charge of customer service is never in the building and doesn't return phone calls. At this point I doubt the person even works there. Do not buy from this company. The product was sub standard and the customer service is non existent.

Screwed up the kitchen floor installation. Took over 3 months to get monetary resolution. Lied to several times. Management ignored the findings of their so called experts. Had to threaten to go to the BBB to get it resolved. Flooring materials were ordered and paid for with a two week delivery promise. Several calls and lies followed and finally got the stuff after seven weeks. Carpeting was six weeks late and then not even available. Was lied to about its delivery as well. Had to accept an alternate. The installers banged up the baseboards so badly I had to repaint them. Was told to "just touch it up". This is the most incompetent, unprofessional, and dishonest company I have ever dealt with.

They put in the area for private over 40 years that well going. They did good work, got fair price, very punctual, and were here when they said they were going to be here. They took away the old property and everything. They were very professional. They prefer to use Mr. Schliever all the time. They cleaned up and helpful. I was satisfied with everything and took away the old materials and stuff.

They did everything, demolished all old flooring, moved all furniture. They were really good about not only doing the job but doing it right. They found some sub-floor that needed fixed so we brought in someone else to do. Quality of the work is really high.

I almost don't know where to start... first the linoleum. The men that installed it destroyed my walls and door frames (not just talking about the base boards). They permanently scratched my porcelein toilet and damaged the bathroom vanity. They screwed my laundry sink to the wall with a bolt right through the sink!!! They also cracked the linoleum in one corner of the kitchen and tried to glue it down and said nothing about it. I noticed it and they had to come out and reglue it. I thought this linoleum was crack-resistant ? (I was given a small sum of money to have the damaged interior walls repainted.) Then the carpeting... I went with berber. They did a horrible job in the family room, splicing together a 2 foot extension which stuck out like a sore thumb. They severed the wiring to our sound system and never said anything about it. In addition, they left huge scrape marks on the entrance wall while carrying in the carpeting. (5 feet above the floor). They did a sloppy job on the rest of the carpeting, never trimming the stray fibers, and NOT correctly joining the carpeting to the tile in the foyer area. I did call for an adjuster to come out and take a look. He said the carpeting in the family room was not only installed poorly, but it was defective. They then ordered us a new carpet. I had to call twice to see what was taking so long. When they finally came (2 months later) they showed up with the WRONG color! They came back the next week and 2 different installers did a very nice job... they looked around our house and informed us that the 2 original installers did a very bad job and that I should call back and have the adjuster come out again. I did just that and a man came and reattached the carpeting to the tile and trimmed away all the loose fibers and went through the whole house fixing the installation. All in all, he did a fine job. This whole process spanned from July 2010 through January 2011. In the end, everything looks good, but I'm seriously wondering if it will hold up for more than a few years. I am terribly dissatisfied considering the amount of money we spent. I certainly expected more professional service from the beginning. I will never do business with them again; and I am telling all of my friends and relatives to boycott them.
Description of Work: Kitchen, powder room, laundry room - better linoleum installation. Family room, dining room, stairway and upper hall - carpet installation.

I was very unhappy with Rochester Linoleum. They did a terrible job installing the new floor, and it took them four or five visits over several weeks to finish the job to our satisfaction. They were extremely unprofessional, and I would not recommend them to anyone.

I had a leak that warped the floor. I have a thirty five year warranty with the laminate and now they discontinued the laminate. Rochester Linoleum won't repair it. I have to pay another $4000 to replace the entire laminate because they do not carry it anymore.
