Contacted Pikuet Paving In early April 2018 for an estimate. Dennis Pikuet came out and gave me a very comprehensive estimate. He explained that they would tear out the old drive, add stone as needed, grade and then lay 2 1/2 inches of #1 dense by machine. For this the price was $4000.00. He also included in the quote to put on a finish coat of 1 inch of #7F for an additional $1500.00. He said that I could do this at a later date if I desired, but recommended doing it all t once. On April 27th 2018 I returned the estimate signed and indicating that I wanted the whole ob done to include the top coat. On the imate he indicated that the ESTIMATED completion date being May-June. As June wore on I called and left several messages on their answering machine. To these I got NO reply. I also sent a letter inquiring when they were going to the job.This also was not replied to. At this point I start contacting other companies to get new bids. On August first I got a phone call asking me if the could come and remove the old driveway that afternoon I said yes and they came and removed the old drive an leveled and rolled the base. They told me that they would be back on Friday the 10th to pave it. About a half hour after they were done Kevin Pikuet returned and wrote out a bill for the removal. This very much surprised me as there was not mention of partial payments on the original estimate. After having no replies to my phone inquiries I decided not to write a check at that time. Friday the 10th came and went and they never showed up, nor was there any phone call. After thinking about it I sent them a check for the tear out on the 15th of August. Finally I got a phone call from Dennis Pikuet on Wednesday September 5 asking if they could come and pave the following day. I said yes. They showed up at about 11:45 AM and went right to work. They first laid fine stone over the base and rolled that, followed by the dense base and the the final fine top coat. I Feel the quality of their work was excellent and they did a nice professional job. My only but major complaint was their total lack of communication a return of phone calls. To me this soured the job and was very unprofessional. In summary I would say that their work was excellent but their customer relations was nonexistent. For price comparison this drive was 14 1/2 feet wide by 83 feet long.

We have used Pikuet for 2 previous driveway installations. Latest driveway (installed by Pikuet) has been in for 27 years. If it weren't for two tree roots growing under the driveway and raising it significantly, the driveway would still be quite good. They will remove the roots, grind down the old driveway and reinstall the blacktop. Agreement was "when weather and schedule permits" and work has not yet been done.

They responded to our request for an estimate and they seemed like a good company, but they did not offer any type of guarantee on the work. The price was also higher than another estimate that we received. They were friendly and courteous and we would considering calling them again in the future. We just decided not to use them based on the fact that we found another company that better met our needs.
