Penguin was sub-contracted by another company that was performing a roofing job for me so I actually didn't select Penguin. But I was impressed by their service. The attic was in two separate pieces; one of the areas was the result of an addition we had done years ago. The attics were only accessible via small crawl space entries. Before they installed the insulation they had to install baffles. Penguin snaked the tube used to blow in the insulation from their truck through a couple of windows and into the attics. It was very cramped for the person that had to go up into the attic to work. They came early on the morning they promised and were done in 5 hours. The work seems to be of very good quality.

Although Penguin submitted a slightly higher bid than another insulation company, we contracted with them because of the relationship they had with a roofing company that we'd used. The small amount extra that we paid has been "made up" over and over because of Penguin's fine service and follow-up. Jeff, the owner, thoroughly explained the type of insulation that he was doing in each part of the house, and why it was most efficient. He did a follow-up visit a few months after the job, to make sure that any moisture in the attic area had been eradicated through the insulation job. When I called him about some mold on the bedroom ceiling, he came immediately, diagnosed a small problem, and had a crew there that week to fix the problem - no charge. This June we had water and mold stains showing up on a ceiling in another part of the house. Although this part of the house (area over the cathedral ceiling) was not part of Penguin's original insulation job, Jeff came over and spent a significant part of his day in trying to diagnose the problem for me. Once the ceiling area moisture has been diagnosed and repaired, you can bet that I'll call Penguin to complete the insulation job on this part of the house.
