Michael Talone

I hired Mike and his son in early June to to a paint job in July. We met in person at the house the week prior and firmed up the schedule etc., The day he was supposed to start he texted and said he couldn’t due to finishing another job but would start bright and early the next day (Tuesday). On Tuesday morning his wife called and said he wouldn’t be able to start that day due to a “minor mishap.” When asked about when he might start (seriously, did he sprain a toe or break a limb? It matters!), whether his son would start, etc., she said Mike would call or text “if he feels up to it.” I called and texted once a day for several days but never heard from Mike, his adult son, or his wife again. This seemed really shady so I had a friend call in search of a painter. Mike was on another job but could take her job in the coming week or two. So, apparently, he last minute got a more desirable gig but didn’t have the courtesy, integrity, professionalism, or basic human decency to honestly communicate or to follow through on his commitment. I have no clue if the guy can paint but I don’t think it matters. Why would you want a liar who is totally unprofessional and lacks basic decency in your home?

Mike has 2 or 3 guys that have worked with him for several years and he'll bring them with him depending on the size of the job and how fast it has to get done. I met all of them and they did such a NEAT job and were so pleasant and helpful, I made them lunch while they were here (and I had plenty of other stuff I needed to be doing). They were SO appreciative, and eat anything you feed them :-) . They even replaced light bulbs and got me to clean the vents before they put them back. Michael is a good painter and OWNS the job and is the person you hire. He is always the main worker. His time estimate was spot on.
