Metropolitan Window Cleaning

Tried to stop at burger king today corner of Monroe and Alexander. Could not as their truck was parked in handicap spot… the only one. How rude and inconsiderate! And illegal!

DBI Properties in Greece, NY has used Metropolitan Window Cleaning for cleaning all 4 of our large apartment complexes’ gutter cleaning for a few years now. Over time, more and more call backs were needed for areas that were neglected. Eventually, we needed to schedule them for mid-summer as well as late fall, which had never been necessary in the past with other contractors. When semi-annual service was started this past week, we requested the crew keep each property manager updated daily with which areas had been completed so a member of our staff could follow up. Apparently that was too much to ask, they resented the distrust, and if we needed to follow behind them checking their work, “why don’t we just do the work ourselves?”. Needing to bring their attention to unfinished gutters after the first day of service proved that our following up was necessary. Again, we were asked why we couldn’t just do the work ourselves. A schedule was given to us regarding which properties they would be at and when, but that was not followed. Daily progress updates were given at some properties but not others. When asked again for better communication, daily updates, and progress reports, attitudes were resentful, impatient, and unprofessional. Our largest property was “completed” entirely too quickly for what could possibly be quality work (40+ buildings), and our second largest property wasn’t finished, yet we were invoiced for both. We eventually requested that they leave our properties and 2 of the projects unfinished. I would suggest better communication between the owner Mike and his brother Peter, more respect for their clients’ requests, and less resentment of the fact that we are a privately owned company and reserve the right to check our contractors’ work.

We have used them before, and liked them enough to use again. This time, however, I was annoyed because one of the cleaners leaned the windows he was cleaning (while he was cleaning them) on an upholstered toy box we have in the living room. The fabric and padding got wet and dirty from the windows. It was just sloppy and unprofessional. I want cleaners who will treat our furniture with respect. Otherwise, they were punctual and quick.

I call the service to tell them about the window sills, and they came over, without calling me, came into the house, ( i LET THEM) TO CLEAN THE SILLS. AGAIN, IN AND OUT IN 10 MINUTES, still leaving the window sills dirty. I didn't say anything about the walls, because there was nothing that could be done. We are now repainting the damage.
