+ -1 moreExcellent communication. Offered options for the repair, with different price points. Negotiated start date. It took as long as they said it would (2 days). They cleaned up extremely well. My only negative is that the result is not elegant. There are complex angles involved and the verticals and the horizontals do not meet at an edge beveled to take that into account. I didn't ask for it, I probably didn't pay for it, but I guess I expected it. (So now I make a facade to make it prettier.) Yes, I would hire them again.
Description of Work: I have an old barn that has racked, a long time ago, and then the front beam rotted out. They replaced the beam and stabilized the barn so it will not rack any further. They did exactly what I wanted them to do.

+ -1 moreI had an old carriage house garage that had fallen off of its foundation and needed to be raised and set upon a new foundation. As far as I am concerned, Matthews House Movers is the ONLY company that could do this job! They are a 5th generation family owned and operated company that has been doing this since the 1860s, and they have done a beautiful job. I know that they specialize in moving houses, but for those of you with homes or garages with structural problems (sagging floors, foundation problems, building retrofits), call these brothers! They are highly professional, very friendly, trustworthy, and go the extra mile to do an excellent job.This option was also much more cost effective than tearing down the old structure and building a new one from scratch. They have done several of these garage "re-righting" projects in the Fairport Village, which is how I found out about them. I have no regrets!
Description of Work: The Matthews brothers raised my garage off the old crumbling foundation by building an internal structure to slowly lift the structure into the air. Once that was done, they built a new steel-reinforced foundation around the old one, built new pressure treated wood sills, lowered the structure onto the new base, performed structural repairs to replace rotten wood, and added new siding. They worked closely with a mason to do this project.
