They were very professional, thorough, and knowledgeable.

When I dropped computer off, person was very helpful in describing what could be the issue and also gave me two scenarios based on what could happen based on each one. Was told it would be finished within 3-4 days and I would get a call when they diagnosed the problem. Call came in a timely fashion and was assured they would hang onto my computer until I could get back to pick it up since I was leaving on vacation. Friendly and knowledgeable.

At Lyte Speed, personnel who actually did the work were the folks that waited on me. This was very helpful in my understanding the problems and options. This was the second repair center I took the computer to. At the first repair center, I was told a virus was the probable culprit but a complete diagnosis would be performed and as part of the work, the registers would be checked and repaired if necessary. I was subsequently informed a hardware failure had occurred. Upon having the faulty memory replaced, I was told (by a person unfamiliar with the situation) that I should be able to take the computer home and reboot software myself. I wasted a weekend trying to do just that. Upon returning when they first opened again on Monday, I was informed the problem was probably my own inexperience and for an additional charge and several day wait (unless I was willing to pay an expediting fee), they would install my software, . I then went to Lyte Speed in Penfield. I was told the computer machine should have been completely checked out AFTER the new hardware was installed and before it was released to me. (At least I should have been informed there might still be issues and more work was necessary to ensure a healthy system.) Lyte Speed did a complete diagnostic check of the computer and informed me the operating system had been severly damaged by the hardware failure and there was no way I could have easily rebooted the system myself. They did a thorough clean-up of corrupted registers and rebooted the operating system. (Before they did the work, they asked me which of my files I wanted to save). Based on their suggestion, I had them install a newer version of Windows which should enhance performance. The work was done when promised and at the agreed to cost.

I wanted to purchase a computer built locally, both to support local businesses and have local support if I should need it in the future. The man at the store seemed knowledgable and helpful. The documentation was meager (much less than we received with our previous Dell computer). However, it turned out I did not need it and was able to connect all the components and get things working with only one phone call to the store. The local yellow pages had coupon for free speakers if we bought a computer. We presented the coupon to the sales person. He said they were currently out of stock and would have to order them. He kept the coupon. It has been a month, but we have not heard from the store. This has turned a pleasant experience into a disappointment.

I returned from vacation to discover my work computer would not boot. Normally this is the kind of thing I would try to deal with myself, but I was tired from my trip and just wanted someone else to handle it. Lytespeed was open on a Saturday and had an optional rush service, which I elected to pay for, since I am self employed and need my computer for my job. Within a few hours of delivering it to their Ridge Road shop, they called me to inform me that the hard drive had suffered catastrophic failure, and the only way to remove the data would be to have it sent out to a clean room facility. I am familiar with this type of issue, having experienced it once before years ago. Since I keep comprehensive backups on my work machine, the fact that the data was irretrievable without drastic measures was not a problem for me. They gave me a good price on a replacement drive, and gave me the option of installing it and the operating system myself (they knew I was computer savvy and could do this job on my own) or of doing it for me. I opted for B, because I simply wanted the problem fixed. They called Monday morning to tell me it was ready to go. I found the staff professional and helpful. I even got to bend one of the technicians' ears about his opinion about KVM (Keyboard/Video/Mouse) switches, which they use in their facility, and whether he had an opinion about the new HDMI-compatible switches (still not stable, which is what I have been hearing). As a fellow computer geek, I'm somewhat picky about shops I work with, and I would return to Lytespeed for future repair needs.

My old computer died and some friends had a good experience with lyte speed and I gave them a call. The technician I spoke to was very helpful . I brought my computer over for diagnostics, the cost of that servic is applied to any work that needs to be done I was called within a day and I decided that it was time to get a new computer. the following day my computer was ready. I had some problems with my e-mail and I called. I spoke to Djavid Smith and he told me to bring my computer back and he would help me. I am not great at technical computer stuff ,but I do enjoy the convenience of having a computer. Lyte Speed will be my place to go.. very senior friendly I would recommend their services Anne McGurk Brighton NY

Took my PC into Lytespeed for a repair estimate. Was notified within 24 hours what the problem was. Even though the computer was repairable, they did not recommend spending the money for the repair of the PC because of its advanced age.

My Windows PC just stopped sending files to the printer, after hours of doing my own diagnosis (I usually can fix problems like this) I went to Lytespeed. They ran some tests overnight and called me the next day to say they had diagnosed the problem - the printer software (not just the drivers) had become corrupted. They installed an updated version of the software and it has worked fine since. They were professional and everything was done when they said it would be. Just two things to watch out for. First, if you need your computer within a couple of days, you'll have to pay a $50 rush charge. Second, they uninstalled a program that they shouldn't have, which I found out later and had to reinstall myself.

I took my computer to be analysed and repaired because of odd shutdown problems. Since my PC is 7 years old Lytespeed personnel recommended not to spend money on repair and suggested to buy one of their own built computers. I decided to have the analysis done (which showed 4 bad capacitors on the motherboard) but declined to buy a new PC from them. Upon taking my computer home and reinstalling it I find it still working with no apparent problem. I suppose intermittent fuction or static could be the culprit.

I had never been to Lyte Speed Computers beforeand just by chance I came in contact with one of their ads in an adjacent store in Stone Ridge Plaza.They are located next to Toys r Us.I was just hours away with purchasing my new computer through another store despite the service issues they have and the delays they were having getting their new Dual Core XPS out the door,I decided to give Lyte Speed Computers a shot,it was a choice well made.I am not a computer whiz but Joe took the time to explain each and every question I had concerning this machine.Lyte Speed provided Me with all the professional info I needed to make my decision.I found Joe and his staff to be very personable and they provided me with practicle solutions in my choices that saved me a lot of money.It took less than one week for My computer to be done,all I had to do was bring it home and plug it in.I Love It!Lyte Speed is less than 5 miles from where I Live.I Look forward to any future purchase/service needs by them!!!

Lytespeed Computers did an excellent job. Their knowledge of computers was apparent, their work efficient, and I was very impressed with their level of professionalism. I'd highly recommend them.
