Description of Work: Repairman gave an estimate on cost to repair 10 year old washer, along with what could possibly be forthcoming problems. Taking his comments into consideration, we decided to buy a new washer. I think that we used him previously a long long time ago. Yes, would definitely call him again.

Description of Work: Lockwood first came to my home, 9/12/2011, per my request. The trouble reported as written on the service order--"washer not dispensing soap and temp lights on display not working. Dryer--not heating properly." I obtained their name from customer service at Frigidaire. The technician read my owners manual, turned several cycles on and off and told me I should never wash even small rugs, and that dryer selections were not the best and I should always use the "time dry." On the service order he wrote, "test cycle selector ok and test disp ok." For the dryer he wrote, "test temp ok." Now my washer is not spinning dry every time, so I called for another appointment. It was scheduled for after 12:00 on Monday, 12/5/2011. Coming home just before noon, I found a voice mail from Lockwood: "Good morning, this is Lockwood Appliance calling. Sorry for the late notice. We were reviewing our records and saw that the last time we were out for this appliance under warranty, it was for this intermittent problem again. Our technician and our owner are a little confused . We would like you to get a second opinion and call A&E factory service and their number is (pause) in the phone book. If you have any questions, you can call 225-7882." I called Frigidaire. I was told it sounds like a problem with timer/control board. Did Lockwood call our technical line? I had no idea. Tuesday, I called Lockwood, left a message for Randy, the owner. I asked if they had called Frigidaire for technical support, mentioned the timer/control board, asked why they were unwilling to address the problem, and asked him to call me. I left a second message at 4:50 since I had not heard back all day. No one ever called back. I called Fridgidaire with this story, suggested they drop Lockwood from their list of service providers. I would love to hear the reason for their turnaround and refusal to communicate with me. To me, this whole episode is shocking. I would strongly discourage anyone from using or trying to use Lockwood Appliance. (By the way, I could not find A&E in the yellow or white pages.)
