Around 5 am, I got out of the shower and noticed a water bubble in my ceiling. Went in to the attic and discovered a small portion of my roof shingles were caved in right next to the edge of the roof due to water damage leaking in from my roof because my gutters were solid ice. Around 8am I called J.T. Repairs to see if he could come by sometime during the day and clear the snow and ice off that portion of the roof and give me an idea of how bad the damage was. He told me he was leaving for but he would stop by after that and do the work, probably around 11am. Promptly at 11am he drove in to my driveway and he and his partner got up of the roof and cleared the snow and ice from that side of my roof. He then came in the house and briefly looked at my ceiling and went in to the attic and told me he had to run but he would come back the next day (Saturday) and take a closer look and see if he could patch the roof at all. He came by just like he said he would after a short game of phone tag and went to work in my attic. Unfortunately, the location where the roof was caved in was too close to the roof edge to be able to get to in my attic because it's just a crawl space so he told me there was little he could do until the roof dried up in the spring and he could get to it from the outside. So for now I just have a bucket collecting water and I am waiting for the spring thaw when I get the roof patched or probably replaced since it's 20+ years old, badly constructed and I knew this repair was coming sooner or later I had just hoped it was later. All in all he was quick and honest and did not try to sell me on unnecessary work or anything so I was pleased with his service and I would definitely call him again for future repairs.

They fixed some book cases. It was very good and I would recommended. They were there and they did a good job.

J.T. Repairs came highly recommended on Angie's list and I saw he was located on a street just behind where I live so I called hoping he could help me. After listening to my repairs needs he said he would call me back when he had taken a look so he could give me an estimate of price and time. A little over a week later on a Monday we talked again and he told me he could fix it and quoted me a reasonable price and told me he could get to it as early as that Friday, all I had to do was leave the siding needing to be put back up in my driveway. Then on Wednesday we got over a foot of snow. Friday came and the snow had not cleared but he had not cancelled on me so I left the siding out as promised and went to work. When I came back from work I expected the siding to still be lying in my driveway as I thought there was no way he could do it withe all the snow. To my pleasant surprise the siding was not there and when I looked at the side of the house it was all repaired and looked great. And there was an invoice for the work waiting for me at my door for slightly less than he quoted me. I was extremely pleased with the service and the entire transaction. I would highly recommend him to anyone who asked. He will be the first person I call when I have any jobs like this in the future.

, becuase it rained all of Friday night and Saturday. A downspout is 10' long, so it does not quite fit into a Corolla, so John drove me to Home Depot where we got the supplies, then came back and installed. This was all done in less than one day from my contact on a cold, rainy Friday. I'm glad he did because it rained all of Friday night and Saturday. Without his quick help, a lot of that water would have ended up in my cellar. Would definitely use again.

I think I caught him on a bad day, as he did not really seem interested in the work and lacked patience with how I explained the job. When I expressed my concern, he apologized and stopped by later the same week to look at the job, but at that point I did not pursue it. So, ultimately, he was customer oriented and made an extra effort. I would probably not purchase another coupon from Angie's list because of this, though. I have been reluctant to write a review because I don't think one bad day should damage anyone's reputation, but eventually became sick of the pop-up reminders.

The provider was unprofessional over the phone. He addressed me in supercilious tone of voice and sarcastically asked if should bring a saw to fix my window. The provider also called me by my whole name . I found that to be a bit weird and perhaps overly familiar in a disrespectful manner.

Outdoor light OK, outlets not so good..not able to ground them. An electrician not able to ground something!! Then charged $100 over Angie.

John was extremely professional and business like on the phone. Came out when he said he would, and did the job perfectly. As noted the job was not one that most handymen want to get into as it involved both electrical, carpentry, and some thinking outside the box. John also ordered the rather expensive floor plug, without any deposit from me. While he was at the house he noticed that there were two doors not shutting properly, and said he could fix them for a minimal cost, which he did.

I found them very knowledgeable, efficient and got the job done quickly. I would highly recommend them. They came out last fall and I didn't spend anything extra. He was very experienced and they provide a quick response to our phone calls. I did other projects with him and his ability to understand what we needed demonstrated his vast experience and knowledge.

DO NOT USE J.T. REPAIRS AND CONSTRUCTION - EXTREMELY RUDE, OVER-PRICED AND QUESTIONABLE INTEGRITY Let me start by saying - I am not difficult to please, nor am I the sensitive type who seems to find fault whenever somebody does any kind of work for me. This is not the case at all, in fact I do not typically give feedback or write reviews- I am just too busy. But I have carved out an hour of my time because I feel compelled to warn other people about my experiences with JT repairs and construction. To begin with, when I spoke to John on the phone a couple of times he was very short with me. Not what I expected from an Angie's List provider. He was somewhere between condescending and rude on both occasions, and I left both conversations feeling as if he felt he was doing me a favor by taking the time to speak to me. I could almost visualize him scowling on the other end of the phone! However, I put my faith in his Angie's List rating because I wanted a good job done. I had two jobs for him; the first was on a rental property i own, and a second job at my private residence. I was going on vacation between the two jobs and when I suggested he might do the first job at the rental and perhaps settle the bill when he quoted me for the second job when I got back, he seemed to take great offence. It was as if I had suggested he do the work for free! Now I can certainly understand and respect the fact that he has never done business with me and may have been uncomfortable with this scenario, with that I do not have a problem. I was taken aback by his reaction, as if this was an outrageous request, that no contractor would ever work in this way (not my experience at all, but that was OK). Again, it was his condescending tone of voice more than anything that I objected to (repeated use of the word "buddy") and the edge that he had on both phone conversations. Trust me - I am not the sensitive type. This guy was abrasive and somewhat arrogant when I spoke to him on the phone. The reason i chose Angie's List was to ensure a positive outcome so I decided to proceed anyway based solely on his A rating. He had good reviews, and i even did not mind paying a bit more for a job well done. He eventually took a look at the job at the rental and called me; I arranged for him to come to my house when I got back from vacation and quote me on my work at which time he would get the money for materials at the rental. He shows up and takes a look at the work; I thought his quote was very high for what needed to be done. . He said, "Well I have to charge you for a full day". I questioned this, asked him why if the job would not take that long. He said that he would "have to come back the next day" presumably to finish. He never mentioned the specific number of hours and I felt that his answer did not make sense. Not to mention that he started with the same condescending tone, which was actually quite aggressive when he was standing in front of you. Honestly, it was surreal; I felt as if I he was trying to "bully" me! At this point I could scarcely believe that he was interacting with a customer in this way while standing directly in front of me in my house. I felt compelled to let him know how i was feeling. In a polite manner I told him that I was not thrilled by the nature of my interactions with him and how abrasive he had been, both on the phone and at this moment. He apologized and said that , "other people had told me that, I have too much coffee in the morning get revved up". No problem ; I decided that I would not use him at my house but told him to go ahead and do the job at the rental property. So to cut a long story short when I arrived to check his work and pay the balance, the original job and quote had magically "grown." He claims that the tenant had damaged the lock in the week between his original quote and today. I said yes, that is why i am paying you to fix it. Oh no, he says, another part of the lock is broken. Well the tenant was right there and denied this. And i believe him. The contractor boasted to me in my house how at one time he had 20 rental units and how he got out because of how destructive his tenants were. He made a special point of disparaging section 8, folks that receive assistance. In my case I have had the same tenant for the last four years and can report only positive experiences. Guess what - I believe my tenant! The contractor kind of knew I was on my way to work and I needed to get this resolved. I relectantly coughed up $40 extra. I cannot tell you how this whole experience with him has left a nasty taste in my mouth. Bottom line; I would never use this gentleman again, nor recommend him to anybody else based on his rather terrible bedside manner and very high prices. As for the difference of opinion with the lock, I realize that you could look at this from the perspective of the contractor or from the person hiring the contractor and that disputes can happen - I get that. But this guy had been paid $200 in labor for doing what is essentially a couple of hours work. Do not make the mistake of thinking that because this guy advertises under "handyman" services, that he is in any way inexpensive; whatever you think about this review, if you are following a tight budget pick somebody else. I felt that I was being gauged , a feeling that was compounded by the type of interactions that I was having with him. I also felt that his estimate of the work that needed to be done at my house was not done in a professional manner. I put my faith in Angie's List and his "A" rating but I wish that I had paid attention to the warning signs. We all have bad days, but I want to make sure that people that read this understand that my review is based on three separate interactions with him, both on the phone and in person. Oh, and by the way , at no point did he ever thank me for my business or for choosing him to do the work etc. Incredible.

He was punctual, and very professional. I already referred him to someone else; his services were used and they were happy with his work.

John came the same day I called him and fixed everything I needed in 2 hours. I plan on using John for many more projects!

The services was fine. Very small job. Really not much to say!

The contractor was very easy to work with, punctual, clean and did all three repairs within the timeframe of the deal. Without me being present to supervise, they could have easily "added on", which they did NOT do. Honesty goes a long way with me and I plan to call them in the future for handyman services as well as a possible kitchen/pantry remodel. Thanks, John.

Professionalism: He was a little bit abrupt at first when I tried to schedule the session over the phone. Additionally, while he was working with me, he responded to another phone-call and was very rude to the client over the phone. Even though both of those were pretty off putting, when he came in to do the work he was very cheerful, pleasant, and chatty. It's worth getting past that first pass to get to know him. Responsiveness: We did play prolonged phone tag at first. Every time I left a message, he didn't respond nor did he try to call me or leave me any messages. But when we finally connected, he was very flexible. Regarding Price/Quality/Punctuality, he was truly a pro! Did an excellent job on all of the work we had listed out (some shelves and some hanging wooden fixtures) and also answered any questions and helped consult with some of the difficulties and questions we had about the work and other things to be done around the house. We would definitely turn to him again, especially now that I've gotten to know him and seen that beyond the phone conversations, he really is excellent.

John came out shortly after I called him to assess the problem with the toilet. He returned a couple of days later with the needed parts and repaired the leak. I then asked him to install a bathroom ceiling fan with heater. I called him when the fan was delivered and he came a couple of days later. He always consulted with me when a problem arose and discussed options. He returned two times, once to patch the ceiling and another time to paint. While he was installing the fan, I unexpectedly needed a new backup battery/sump pump replaced. John fit it into his schedule and took care of it for me at the same time. I found John very helpful, polite and his work is excellent. I plan to call him again in the near future for some additional work.

It was a big deal purchase of $89 for two hours of handyman services. It was a good experience. They were friendly and skilled. They were very knowledgeable and able to answer any questions that I had. They got the job done in a timely manner.

He came out to perform the service for taking out my electrical stove, and replacing it with a gas stove. There was a gas line to the stove, so I supplied the materials and had him hook everything up. He also put in a fan above my stove.

We originally used him for just the back door installation and he was great to work with so we hired him for the interior doors. He was efficient and the work was done on time. Everything looks and works perfectly. He was also very accommodating to our schedule. We would definitely recommend him and continue to use him on projects in our house.

He arrived on time, worked consistently throughout the time, gave me a list of needed items prior to the repair and all looks good. He tightened up the staircase, put in new supports and braces and it looks very good.

They were just fine. The services were good and I recommended them to a friend who used them also. It was one person who came. It came out to an additional $480 and I thought that was a little high. They had trouble coming out to do the work because of the weather. It had nothing to do with them; it just kept raining.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and it turned out excellent. My job was nothing that needed to be done immediately. I had extra charges for materials and labor. The person who came out takes great pride in what he is doing.

John was well-prepared, courteous, and got the job done quickly per my specifications. In addition, he was careful not to scratch my wood floors, thoughtful about his partner's safety and cleaned everything up afterwards. John can be prickly, and his strong suit is not formality; upon arrival he asked to use my bathroom. On the other hand, he did an intelligent, careful job and seems knowledgeable.

Company owner (John) initially came over to review the job and give us an estimate The job went well - John was slightly later than expected, though less than an hour (arrived at 9:40). Work was done thoroughly, given what he had to work with. He brought some additional problems to our attention (toilet had been leaking; sub-floor should eventually be replaced), and those will be addressed at a later time. He also replaced a part on the toilet while he was there. This provider does NOT take plastic, which fact we were unaware of until after the work was done - had we known, we would have had cash available. He was very cooperative about payment arrangements, though, and took a check without question. He did phone a couple of days later to follow up, which I greatly appreciated. I had a discount certificate that I had purchased through Angie's List ($79 for 2 hours of service), though John didn't specifically charge by the hour - he gave us a quote for the entire job ($300 plus materials) and deducted the $79. All in all, he was here for approximately 5 hours. Overall, we were pleased with the work done, and my husband, who was home that day, was satisfied with the whole experience.

John was responsive to our contact for an appointment. He was able to see me within 2 days of our request. He was a good "diagnostician" for the door problem and very capable in fixing both the door and the toilet.
