The movers were very nice, polite and always ready to do anything to help in the packing and moving; I really thought it would cost less, though, because it only took them 1 1/2 hours to load the van at my old house, but seemed to take considerably longer to unload it at the new address. All in all, they were hard workers and I would hire them again.
Description of Work: They moved all the furniture and boxes from my old address to my new address. They also disassembled and reassembled beds and a dining room table.

The men did this as their second move of a (rare in 2017) hot day. Still, they got right to it and made quick work of loading & unloading. Very careful not to ding up the house. Gave extra help getting washer & drier thru a narrow doorway. Pleasure to work with them!

Very well. Although the cabinets were heavy, the job took only about 5 minutes. They used "sliders" they later said I could buy at Home Depot to protect the hardwood floor. To move the cabinets back into place, and save a lot of money, I later bought sliders for under $5, and my wife and I were able to move the cabinets back into place ourselves.

The 3 guys were extremely professional, zero damage to any furniture despite moving pretty quickly. Time was estimated was approx. 8 hours, performed work in under 6.

They did a great job before, during and after the move (We thought a box had been left behind in the truck, but it had not. As soon as we called they immediately went out to check the truck, check their warehouse and called the driver.) I would definitely use them again.

I hired the 3 movers on a coupon. Two out of the three were excellent - very hard workers and experienced. The third was new, not happy being a mover. He disappeared and was on his cell phone at least half the time. When I asked him to move the items out of the basement, he said he would get to that. I only needed one truckload, and after the move, realized that he hadn't moved any of the basement items. I was able to do this in my SUV, but it was difficult. This mover broke a couple of picture frames - he didn't seem to have training. They were not expensive, so I didn't report it. I have used IMS many times and until this move, had been very happy.

The move was originally scheduled for 7am. I received a call the day before that there were scheduling issues, and they would instead arrive "late morning". They ultimately showed up at 3pm. That's 8 hours after the original promised time. As they parked the truck, I told them multiple times they couldn't block the parking garage access to my building. Common sense, but I mentioned it anyway. Despite this, they still ended up blocking the garage, and after they started setting up, I had to tell them, yet again, to move the truck. Once they finally parked, the crew sauntered up to my second floor apartment without any blankets or dollies in tow. By the time they actually started moving my items, 20 minutes had elapsed since they finished parking their truck. 30 minutes had elapsed since they first arrived on site. Loading up: None of my items were wrapped in blankets/plastic/tape before hauling into the elevator or down the stairs. Once outside, everything was loaded haphazardly onto the truck (shelving unit dumped on top of other items at an angle, wood furniture crammed in a disorganized fashion, wooden bed rails placed directly on the truck floor without blankets, etc.). I was promised 6 wardrobe boxes via the Angie's List coupon offered for this company. Upon arrival, the crew looked dumbfounded when asked about the boxes, and managed to scrounge together only two boxes, both of which were partially damaged and incredibly dirty. The crew told me to not worry as they would fashion a clothesline in the truck to hang the rest of my clothes that wouldn't fit in the two boxes. Despite me asking at least 5 times when they would do this throughout the move, the clothesline never happened, and the majority of my clothes were ultimately dumped onto dirty moving blankets on the truck floor. The three-man crew took twice as long as they should have to pack up my apartment. I lived in a 1-bedroom, 1,000-sf loft, and it took them 4 hours to load the truck. After 4 hours, they still weren't done, but I was so frustrated that I told them to get going to my new place (I moved the remaining items myself afterwards). There was no organization among the team - on three separate occasions, someone wondered out loud where someone else was and what he was doing. There were several times were I was completely baffled by the lack of common sense displayed by the crew. I have a large dining table with a removable top. I watched one crew member place the table top onto his hand dolly (of course without blankets), then try to wheel it out my apartment door, with the face of the top positioned square against the door opening. It was incredibly obvious (as it would have been to even a second-grader) that the orientation wouldn't allow the table to fit through the door, and he simply had to turn it longways so it could be easily carried out with another crew member. I watched in disbelief as he stood there for 30 seconds trying to figure it out, and then in more disbelief as a second crew member joined him and stood there for another 30 seconds trying to figure it out. It wasn't until I said "Hey, why don't you guys take it off the dolly, turn it longways, and just carry it out" that they got it out the door. Transportation to my new home: The destination was 7 minutes away, 10 with traffic. It took them 20 minutes to get there. I even offered to have them follow me, but they said they had it on GPS and would be right behind me. Where they disappeared for 10 minutes, who knows. My new home is a 2,400-sf home. When they arrived, one crew member got out, stared at it, then said "Man, you should have chosen a bigger place with all the stuff you have!" Setting aside the inappropriateness of that comment in general, I was in shock at the absolute absence of any logic in his statement. Again, they were moving me from a 1,000-sf loft apartment into a 2,400-sf home, and he thought the home was too small? Holy smokes, I wanted to slam my head against a wall. As a result of the poor care exercised in loading my belongings, multiple items were damaged and/or completely destroyed: Floor lamp was broken at the light bulb fixture Metal storage shelves (placed on top of other items at an angle) were bent and eventually fell apart Expensive new queen bed frame from West Elm had multiple deep scratches/chips to the wood Newer leather sectional had deep scratches to the point where some leather is completely missing The custom dining table top previously mentioned is now warped, due to how it was loaded and transported (placed vertically, with all the weight resting on the narrow end, instead of horizontally), Deep scratches and chips to a custom coffee table Unloading: Given how long the move was taking (due to how inefficiently the movers were operating), I called Interior Moving Service's central office to complain. Naomi, the coordinator, told me she would call the crew to address the situation. I don't know if this call ever happened, but I saw no change in speed/determination of the crew. They just took their sweet time, slowly moving between the truck and house. On more than several occasions, I saw crew members carrying only one or two light items at a time (e.g., a fishing rod tube in one hand and a pillow in the other). By the time they finished, it was 9pm. The move took 6 hours, while I was quoted 3, which is what it should have taken. This company somehow has received A ratings from other users on Angie's List. Maybe I drew the short straw and happened to get their worst crew and a particularly bad day, but this is the worst moving experience I've ever had in my life. I've moved six times in the past six years, and had I known beforehand how this crew would have handled my move, I would have resorted to doing it myself with my friends. Lastly, I'm still waiting on the central office to tell me how they're going to fix all my damages. I thankfully purchased the additional insurance, but it has now been 9 days since I provided an inventory of damages, and have yet to hear back on their plan to repair the broken items.

It is not a common occurrence, however we did get there as soon as we possibly could. Circumstances at your pick-up location increased the overall load time of your move. For example, the shared use of the elevator, and the long walk from the elevator through the parking garage and out to the street. In regards to your damage claim, we did receive the information. Before a concrete solution and processing with the insurance company was in place, you rescinded the monies paid for your move. If we can respectfully have time allotted by our governing agencies to respond and validate your claim, we would like to settle this matter. We sincerely apologize for your inconveniences. Provided free estimate, without commitment. On moving day, they were early (and called in advance) at the pickup location, and called when they departed for our home. Upon arrival, every member of the three person team introduced themselves by name to my wife with a polite handshake. Once the piece was in place, they offered to push it back a few inches, or not, as my wife had to install equipment and retain access to electric outlets, etc. Could not have gone better, or more quickly or with any less fuss.

Very, very nice gentlemen. Pleasant & efficient. Only small issue that I had was that the man in charge claimed that my desk was made of particle board. I tried to correct him, that it was all wood, but he stuck to his wrong opinion. Glad there wasn't subsequent damage!

The movers were very good. The two guys were very friendly and polite. They worked hard and were very cautious with our furniture. My numerous issues are with the office staff. Naomi was who I had the most contact and the most problems (she never once stated her own name). Prior to booking, I called to get information. Although she was not very friendly or forthcoming with information, I got all of my questions answered. One of which was that I was told I could call the morning of the move to get an estimate for when the movers would be arriving as I was the second move of the day. I booked through Angie's list as required. I did this 2 weeks before the move date. I responded to the companys email but didn't hear back within the 3 day time frame to confirm. I called them, spoke to one girl and then she put Naomi on. She confirmed that I was all set for the 28th. The day of the move, I called at 9:30 am. I spoke to Naomi who said she never received my initial response email and when I told her I also called, blamed it on the other girl. They did not have me scheduled. She said she could "remedy" it and she would call me right back with a move time. After 1.5 hours and no word, I called back. She told me movers were on their way. She didn't apologize for not calling. During the move, we needed 2 furniture pads recommended by the movers. I called to ask if we could get this complimentary (they were $16 each so $32 total) due to all of the issues. She said it all worked out and was giving me a hard time. She reluctantly gave me the 2 pads. Then, at the end, the movers said I owe a $38 travel fee. This was no where on the voucher or never mentioned in any capacity about extra fees. The mover called Naomi, explained that the voucher said nothing about this, told her they should honor it yet she wouldn't budge. I couldn't deal with her one more time so we just paid it out of courtesy for the movers who were put in a bad spot. They are the ones who told me to call the owner about her. I was moving out of state and had no time. I hope he sees this review and does some serious customer service training!!

The three men were prompt. Showed up in good spirits and moved all of our furniture and our entire garage contents to their trunk enabling a "one stop shop." They took no breaks that I saw and not a single groan or grumble as they moved my anvil as I am a junior blacksmith. Even at the end of the move, they were jocular and seemed energetic. Nothing was broken or damaged at either location. If I move again, I would color code items and rooms so the guys didn't have to stop to ask us.
Description of Work: We moved from a 3 story house with a detached garage to a ranch with attached garage. We moved a lot of the boxes ourselves with Interior moving all of our furniture and appliances.

So far so good. They were highly recommend by friends who had used them for personal and professional moves. The initial contact was great -- quick estimate, reasonable price, useful tips for packing. The day of the move was efficient, and the crew was careful and polite. Furniture and boxes are currently in storage in a temperature controlled warehouse at a reasonable price. We expect the final move from storage to our new home to be of the same high quality. Special praise for the office staff -- always knowledgeable, polite, and ready to answer questions.

The work went well. The crew worked effectively as a team separating and combining tasks in the best way. The work moved steadily with appropriate breaks minimizing the time required to complete the move. The crew worked hard and they were tired by the end of the move, yet repositioned some boxes for us to allow better access to cars when parked in the small garage. The provider made an appropriate compensation for repair of a wall ding as I chose to handle the repair myself. All furniture and household goods arrived in their new places in sound condition. The provider was recommended to us directly by recent users and we recommend them. Update: After moving and thankfully before we closed on the property we sold and moved from, we discovered while unpacking that several kitchen items were unaccounted for. We returned to the old house and found several lower drawers and cupboards had not been packed. While we might have inspected the packer's work after the kitchen-full of boxes were moved out, our expectations were higher, given users' reviews and direct references from two known users. We were disappointed. "Trust and verify," slipped our minds Quality downgraded to a B.

On June 25, 2013; Interior Moving completed a move for [member name removed] and her spouse (whose name is on the actual contract). Apparently, while the movers were carrying items up the stairs, one of the movers tripped over something on the stairway and bumped into a window; and it broke. After the move, a damage claim was reported by [member name removed] spouse. We discussed that the window would be repaired. It was stated that we had to wait, as the family would be unavailable. Once they were available, we resumed discussion; that the window would be repaired. The window was in fact replaced with a new window completely [member name removed] & her spouse, instead of having the glass replaced. A reimbursement for the cost of replacing the window pane, based upon estimates from glass companies, was mailed. No other damage was reported to our company.
