Bob did exactly what his estimate said, for the price he quoted us, and on the day he promised it. There were two glitches, however. He accidentally cut through a buried TV cable line. On the one hand, he did not call DigSafelyNewYork (https://www.digsafelynewyork.com) to find out where buried lines were on our property. He did not trust them to do a good job. On the other hand, it turns out he was right! When another contractor who was to build a patio for us called them to stake out the ground, their marks were several feet off from where the cable actually was! Of course the repair of the TV cable was his (actually his insurance company's) financial responsibility, not ours, and he did not make it a big deal. So this really didn't impact us at all. It may have slowed down the work by a half hour. He also made a mistake hooking up the new line to our service box. I do fault him for this, but in his defense we have a very screwy circuit breaker setup. Not all circuits feed into the main breaker, and nothing in there was labeled. A half hour after he left, a circuit breaker blew. I called him and he came right back, explained his mistake, apologized, and fixed it. We've had no problems since then. I don't know if this sounds serious to others, but for me, I established a good enough rapport with him that I would use him again. I also liked the fact that he was personally here to supervise his assistant the whole time. My last electrician, now retired, was a really nice and knowledgeable fellow, but sometimes I would not see him when his people came out to do a job.
Description of Work: He dug a trench in our yard and placed a 220-volt electric line in PVC conduit from our house into the backyard for some heavy duty equipment connected with our pool.
