Herington Painting

We had a fantastic experience right from the start: - Customer service is definitely on the forefront of Kevin's mind. He promptly returned our initial phone call and was flexible with his work schedule, coming by our home both during evening and weekend hours at our convenience to provide an estimate and guidance on our final paint color selection. - The work itself was completed within the predicted time frame with timely arrivals each day to begin. The painting was largely completed while we were out of the house at work. Our floors, carpets and furniture were all protected by tarps they provided, and there wasn't a trace of anyone having been there besides the smell of fresh paint. What a great thing to come home to! - We're extremely happy with the quality of work and plan on rehiring Kevin early next month after some additional construction is completed.

They came on two occasions. The first time, they repainted the garage doors, which had paint flaking off -- and the frame of a window on the side of the garage which had extensive flaking.. The second time, they repainted the front porch -- lower and upper -- where bare wood was showing. In both cases, they went to great lengths to match the colors, and when finished, it was not possible to tell that the paint job was not the original. They were that good. The reason I wrote "No" to using them again is because I was in the process of selling the house which they worked on and moving out-of-state. So I am no longer "local" to them. If I were still in that area, I would use them again. They were the best painters I ever used.

They started on stated date and completed in a timely manner. Kevin worked with me on price and helped to keep cost within my budget. Kevin and his crew were professional.

He came promptly for estimate and painters focused on making sure every aspect of the work was done well for us. gave a guarantee for the house work for 5 years and stated will come to do cleaning as needed. didn't guarantee the deck due to the pain used was not what was recommended by required by our HOA. There was an area of the deck that was noted to be rotted, initially felt it could be painted over, but didn't look good afterwards, so they came back and replaced it. Not the cheapest, which they freely admit, but they are here to make it done right.

Kevin was very professional. We found he and his crew very polite and respectful of our home. He takes great pride in his work, and it shows. He cleaned up everything, and put everything back in its original place. I just wished that I had found him years before! Kevin and his crew are friendly, punctual, polite, and extremely professional, with great attention to detail. They worked quickly and quietly, and took care to not damage foundation plantings. When rotted wood in the facia and soffit was found Kevin referred us to a carpenter he works with who also was an excellent provider. Although our quote required that trim (painted only a few years ago) only be painted where there was an obvious need Kevin offered to face all trim (at no additional cost) to provide a uniform clean look. When our next painting need arises, Kevin Herington Painting will be our first choice.

Kevin and his team were fantastic! They worked diligently to get our house's interior painted within a very short timeframe, so it could go on the market looking its absolute best. The crew always showed up on time, prepared to work. They were polite and professional, friendly and personable. But of course those things don't matter unless the job gets done right...so more importantly, they were skilled at painting. Every room was attended to with care. Kevin was on site during the job, and checked in with us at every step to make sure we were pleased with the progress. He even surprised us by doing a few extra projects like repairing the frame around our laundry chute door (much appreciated!) The results are praiseworthy: the paint lines are crisp and clean, the drywall repair seamless. Our realtor was so impressed, she contacted Kevin to do work at her own house! We would 100% -- absolutely -- definitely -- hire Kevin Herington Painting again.

This was a rare experience: an honest, trustworthy guy with a no-holds-barred work ethic, proficiency at the top of his craft, a whiz at scheduling, and a talent for putting you at ease. I?m an elderly female maintaining two ancient small cottages, so I?ve hired a lot of workmen over the years, some fine, some not so fine. If I made a list, Kevin Herington would be Number One. Of everything that?s a stand-out about this team, I was most grateful that Kevin didn?t treat me with condescension for being an old lady -- that told me everything I needed to know about his character. His respect for his crew and concern for their welfare demonstrated the same impressive integrity. In response, they see the job through with enthusiasm and heart. I felt they gave my little house the same ?cadillac? treatment they give to East Avenue mansions. Kevin kept me posted about wood that needs replacing, and made sure the windows weren?t painted shut before he left. Some unusual prep included removing ivy vines that grow up the walls, which they did with diligence and without uprooting any. It turned out a stress-free experience, which is a first for me. I?ve never seen anyone work so clean. It was actually fun having them around, and I was sorry to see them go. The house looks better than it ever has; it positively sparkles. Because the prep was so thorough, and the paint top-notch quality, and the care lavished on the work so exquisite, I?m confident it will hold up.

The work went exactly as we expected: very well. It is important to know that this recommendation is not based upon a one-time job. In addition to the dock staining, Kevin Herington and his team have done exterior and interior painting of both of our homes since 2004. My husband and I have yet to be disappointed and we trust Kevin. He has a great attitude on the job, an easy going but professional nature with his clients, and most important, we are happy to attest that the reliability and the consistent quality of the work has stood the test of time. Lastly, we learned the hard way that Kevin's work versus others is superior. Several years back we made the mistake of looking for another vendor when Kevin was busy. We fired the painters mid-project and waited for Kevin to correct what had been done and complete the work. Since that time, we get on his pipeline of work. Sometimes we can be the next project, other times it can take 6 weeks, but he always tells us the truth and he always gets it done in the same consistent quality we expect.

We were having a party and needed several rooms in our house painted quickly. I called Kevin Herington on a Wednesday, he gave me a quote the very next day, and his team was at my house first thing Friday morning to get started. It was a huge relief to experience such a quick turnaround! Kevin and his painters are friendly, punctual and extremely professional, with great attention to detail. They worked quickly and quietly, and we fully trusted them to be in our home while we were at work. They left the house spotless at the end of the job. Kevin also did our exterior painting a few years ago (and did excellent work - it still looks freshly painted three years later). While he was at the house painting the interiors, he offered to touch up a few spots outside at no cost, which we really appreciated. We asked for a lot of quotes from different painters in town, and while many of them seemed like they'd do a good job, it was Kevin Herington who impressed us to most with his knowledge and expertise. He pointed out things in our house that other people never mentioned and he educated us about our house, the walls, the paint, etc, during his quote. It was really helpful. When it came time to paint, the Herington painters (one of which was Kevin himself) showed up on time and worked quickly, efficiently, and cleanly. I will definitely use Herington for any of my painting needs in the future, and I've already recommended them to multiple friends and family. Excellent service all around.

I contacted 3 painters from Angie's list. Kevin was responsive and provided a quote in a timely manner. His crew arrived on time and completed the job as quoted.

I had arranged in the spring to have the house painted in September. Because of the wet summer they started a week later than expected but once there worked until done. They were very careful not to paint if there was any question of too much moisture. They spent a lot of time in prep, which many painters don't do. The men working for Kevin were very nice. They were interested in having happy customers and asked if there was anything that needed more attention. They were careful with my property. One bush that was growing close to the house sustained some damage when they pulled it back with a bungee cord to be able to paint but I could see that it was a really difficult situation and would not fault them for that. They did anything they had to to have a good result and a satisfied customer. Kevin also has a 5 year guarantee on his paint work, which tells you something. Everyone who has seen the result has complimented me on what a good job was done. I would definitely recommend this company. It was a pleasant experience.

Beginning with the quotes we got from Kevin we felt we were dealing with a professional, who was more than willing to listen to us, and gave a very good going over of the property to see what he would need to do, and what would have to be repaired before he could start work. He suggested a handyman for that work, whom we are very happy with, but it was entirely our choice whom we went with to get that work done. Once he and his crew started working, they were onsite every day that weather allowed for the outdoor work, and early every day for the interior work. The work went well, and his crew cleaned up the site very well. Both the interior and exterior of the house look great.

After being pushed back twice from another painter (for bigger jobs I suspect), I contacted Kevin. His partner Clinton came right away and gave me an estimate. They both arrived as scheduled and discussed the best way to handle the falling glitter situation. Clinton sanded down the uneven high peaks and glitter and applied two coats of paint. The ceiling looked so much better just having the peaks of stucco knocked down, but with the fresh paint it looks like a million dollar renovation. Clinton also wiped down the existing paneling below that was beyond my reach. A very pleasant experience.

Kevin was contracted to stain our cedar-sided house and deck, utility shed, and driveway turnaround wall. Of all estimates collected, Kevin provided both the best description of tasks to complete and the best price. (Before initiating staining, Kevin also recommended that Seamus Langton of ANF Contracting repair damaged siding. We used him, and it worked out well.) Kevin and team did an excellent job. We are completely satisifed with the results. Due to a need to replace windows on the front of our house, Kevin's team had to wait two months to begin the job. Once the house was ready, Kevin immediately fit our job into his schedule, and the work was efficiently completed within five days. The work was done exactly as specified in the contract. Kevin's team worked extremely well with the carpenter (Seamus, see above) who replaced trim boards, siding, and panels. The team primed the new trim boards and panels before applying the 2 coats of stain. Kevin and crew were pleasant to work with, and provided a final review of the project and ensured that I was satisfied with the job. I would hire Kevin Herington Painting again.

Kevin and his team came and painted our house. They did a great job and the overall process of working with them was extremely easy. the whole thing took less than 10 days. One of his guys in fact broke a storm window, and I had a new one 2 days later. I would recommend them to anyone.
