They were here for an estimate. They just sent us a flat out e-mail and said this is your cost, and if we do this this is your cost. They also put in together an actual book with pictures and told us exactly what needed to be done on the roof and exactly what they were going to do as far as the windows and vents, and so on and so forth. They came out like three weeks ago and we got our estimate probably two weeks after that. They were able to do everything that we wanted. Basically I think we went with the other company because they are right here local, we are familiar with them and we did have them here may be 10 years ago to give us an estimate for some other work that we were doing. I never had any contact with their staff, other than with the guy that came in to do the estimate and then he e-mailed the quote and we have not had any contact with them before or after, no follow up or anything. The person who came out was very very friendly, nice, and seemed to be very knowledgeable, and very accommodating. I would recommend them to others.

We are waiting on the weather. We thought the price was reasonable and comparable to some of the other quotes we received. The quote was very comprehensive, it was line by line detail, it was exactly what they were going to do and how much everything was going to cost, it was very detailed. I cannot recall anything that my husband did not like. They were very good and professional. If we need for something else, we would definitely include them.

Steve visited our home to measure and go through various options with us. He was very thorough in his review of the roof. He was the only contractor to request to go into the attic and the only one to notice that we did not have adequate soffit venting. The proposal appeared to be a standard template for the company and was not to the level of other contractors although it seemed to cover everything. We selected a different contractor based on price.

We bought our house in June and when we had the inspection done, we were told the next time the roof would be replaced it would have to be a complete tear-off because there were too many layers. He followed it up with "but you have another 3-5 years on this one." Of course a few days of heavy rain and we noticed the roof leaking in several places into our attic, which caused great concern because once winter gets here, there could be snow piled up on the roof for months, so how much water would that bring? My finance's co-worker recommended Graves Brothers and after reading a few reviews on here I agreed we should call them. They came out and did the estimate and promised that we would have a new roof before the end of November (as long as it was above 32 degrees). Living in Rochester, I panicked and thought for sure we weren't going to have a new roof and were going to have to deal with leaks all winter, but I was wrong. The crew showed up on-time (early even) Monday morning and got right to work. They estimated it would be a one-day job, but once they started ripping things down they let us know it would be two. They were very courteous asking about parking their vehicles and our preference on where the dumpster should be placed. The lawn looked like a disaster as they tore apart the roof, but they cleaned it all up, even raking through the lawn and sweeping off the front and back porches. The owner himself came by to drop off the final invoice and to personally ask what we thought of the crew and the job they performed. I would definitely recommend.

Arrived on time, were professional, clean and efficient. Happy with the new windows. They even came back a year later at no cost to me when I called to say I couldn't open my window. Window was tight and they came and fixed.

He always does what he says he will do. He does high quality work and is dependable.

They promptly responded to my request for a quote. The quote was delayed as their satellite system couldn't see my roof thru the trees. But once they got the estimate completed they were able to start my job in about a week.

I decided I will be using them for the job. They have been good about developing a quote and contract for me. It was very thorough and the contract was very well done. The sales person was good about explaining the things that go into a good roofing job.

Graves Bros was very thorough. For example, some of our vents were pumping air into to our attic, and they made sure to resolve this issue. Overall, they were just a very professional and reliable company to work with.

They did an excellent job and I could barely tell they were even there, the only evidence was our gorgeous new roof. We live out of state and the gentleman who maintains our yard was very impressed by how quickly they performed the entire job, from start to clean up. They were very prompt, responsive, adaptive, trusting and down to earth. I just can not say enough good things about my experience with them.

I had a very good experience. There was no fudging around. They were in. They were efficient. They got it done. I have no complaints. Compared to a national advertiser, they were much more reasonable. They have all their own installers work for them, and they are not sub-contractors at all.

Overall, we were pleased. Their quote was the highest, but it also contained the most detail about everything that would be done. It included specific model numbers, size information, pricing, etc. that was glaringly missing from most of the other roofing quotes we had received. The work crew was generally professional and polite. The quality of the work was good. The only real issue we had was on the first day, when the crew had to quit early because of thunderstorms. They did a fine job of protecting the portion of the roof that had been torn off - we had no leaks, even with a significant downpour. However, they had left a ton of debris in our gutters, which rapidly overflowed and was in danger of coming into our basement until I climbed up on the roof during the storm to clear them out. After the work was completed, they inexplicably had re-installed one of our gutters so that it was offset a foot from the previous position, and again left substantial debris in the gutters, which I had to clean out again. The insulation crew, a separate set of guys, did their job quickly and efficiently. At any rate, other than the gutter issues, the quality of the actual roofing itself was fine, and we haven't had any problems at all in the year since it was installed.

Two bathrooms completed gutted and remodled. Kitchen completly gutted and remodeled.Steve and Frank worked very closely with us to ensure our remodeling needs were met.These are good guys. Hard working, honest and noble. For my wife and I it meant a great deal to us that the quality of the work was sound. It also meant just as much that we felt comfortable with the crew. Glad to report that we did. Were mistakes made? Yes. Were they immediately corrected? Absolutely. All I could ever ask is that a contractor be honest and make good on a promise. This was demonstrated continuously throughout the remodel and as a result we highly reccommend this firm. Steve sold the job. He spent hours with us determining the smartest way to use our remodeling dollars effectively.Frank did the work. We never once felt he was tired of us or late to an appointment. Our first consultation lasted several hours. Steve lives an hour away from us. He stayed till nearly 9:30pm. When you're spending 60k you want some dedicated attention. Steve provided that and more. Frank did the work. He is a great guy with loads of skill and talent. He's been doing this for several years so there is nothing that he uncovered that he wasn't able to deal with immediately. He uncovered a multitude of "issues". His words, "This was the most challanging job I've had in 10 years". He handled it. He knocked it out of the park. In the end our home is now one we can grow our family in (four kids). We went from one shower to two. We now have 2nd floor laundry and an absolutely beautiful kitchen. Look - these are construction guys. If you want refinement - go to the opera. If you want good quality work at a fair price - these are the guys you have to go to.

I was very pleased with them. They did good work. I thought the price was very good.

We ended up getting 5 estimates for our siding last fall. They ranged in price, for the exact same product, from $27,000 to $7,500. Yes, $7,500. Being from Wayne County originally, I knew (and still know) there are reputable outfits who will do a terrific job for a fair price. I went with Steven Blair Roofing and Siding and spent $7500 having my whole house Tyvek-ed and sided with premium, Mastic siding. By the way, the difference between the flimsy 42 siding and the premium 46 siding is only $28 per square. My house is 3000 sq. ft. and required roughly 20 square to side. The difference in supply cost between the 42 and the 46 came to just over $500. Call Steven Blair. Do yourself a favor.

They did a good job, and are very professional. They were prompt, and their pricing was good.

all went pretty well. Was a slow start because of unseen complications and weather.

The project was actually for our church. I didn’t have any work done by them. They quoted me about $2800. They were thorough and prompt. So, those were the two main things that stood out. The person who came out was professional too. I would consider using them again for another quote.

The guy came and talked to me about my kitchen and didn’t complete the estimate. He never got back to me with the estimate. It’s so annoying with contractors. I called and we set up an appointment. The salesman who came was very polite and we had a nice conversation. He looked around and we talked about where to possibly put a bathroom. He said that he would get back to me with an estimate and asked me to call him if I have any questions and he left. I never heard any more from him. That was the end of it. Talking with him was fine, but if he hasn’t given me the estimate it’s hard to be positive about him. He was on time to deliver the quote. He was professional while he was here, but I don’t think it’s professional to not get back and follow through on what he said he was going to do. I would not call him again in the future.

I liked their presentation. When they told me about the different types of roofs they had to offer, they also gave me a list of addresses where I could go and see the roofs for myself. They were very professional. I would use their services in the future also.

Roof was completed within a weeks time. You could tell they knew what they were doing and had experience at it. I was lucky it hadn't rained in weeks after they completed the job. Weather was hot, so it gave a chance for the shingles to settle. Have had a few heavy down pours within the last week or so and I didn't find any leaks. I am very pleased with Graves Bros. and would recommend them to anyone that needs roofing work done.

It cost us around $5000 for the windows, but we spent around $8000 for the roof. Their quote was definitely less than another company and we did shop around. They were professional. The workers came and cleaned. We didn’t have to touch anything after they left. They pulled our blinds and put the blinds back. Whatever they touched, they cleaned it and they left. We didn’t have to clean up after they left. That was one thing that I loved about them. They kept the furniture back that they had pulled. They did what they had to do. I would rate them highly. We did have some issues with the windows. One person died and we didn’t know about that; so they never responded to us for 15 days. They were supposed to come in the first week of March, but there was no response for a couple of weeks. I wouldn’t blame them. We saw him couple of months ago and we were fine, but I don’t know what went wrong. I wouldn’t penalize the company for that because that can happen to anybody. Some people might mind, but we had been dealing with Greg for over two years or so. However, we were very happy with their quality. We would use their services in the future too.
