They were clean, courteous, listened to our needs and performed all work in a professional manner. The owner came after the work was completed to review the job and asked if we were pleased with the job. Many neighbors commented on how great the roof looked. We sold the house shortly after that and one of the selling points was that the guarantee on the roof and gutters passed to the new owner. We were very pleased with Graves and would recommend them to anyone.

They've also done the roof and some windows for us. They cleaned up everything good and got it done quickly. We were happy with them. We got other bids and they were a little higher than some of the other ones, but we felt like they were more professional.

After a very leaky winter of 2013, I hired Graves Bros, the highest bidder, as they were going to do the most to address this problematic roof. I was assured that the ice damming and leaking would be solved by all the measures they were going to take. They were insistent that I would not even need heat cables. Winter of 2014, and the roof is still leaking in the same area as last winter, in both new spots and previously leaky spots. More interior damage to deal with. This is despite me raking what I could whenever I shoveled. Severe ice damming, especially in the cathedral section. I realize now that the edgevent (intake for when there are no soffit vents) is a terrible idea during the winter, especially when there are much better options available such as fascia vents. When ice damming occurs, the edgevent is completely cut off when you need it the most, by the very thing it is there to prevent. From there, the ice damming accelerates exponentially. To make matters worse, there is a slot cut in the decking underneath the edgevent for the air to enter - what a perfect place for water to also enter during ice damming. To be fair, the edgevent is covered by ice/water shield, but it also creates slight reduction of pitch in the already shallow slope of the roof - further accelerating damming and water backing up higher up the roof - to the point where it has to be getting under the edgevent and into the air intake slot. I am not a professional roofer. But it seems obvious that the edgevent creates more problems than it is worth - especially with alternatives available such as fascia venting. Since the leak is allegedly caused by ice damming (based on some new interior leak spots, this year it is also definitely the chimney flashing), Graves won't do anything about it until Spring. I had to pay them to come and break up the dams to stop the first series of leaking. The dams came back almost immediately and started leaking through the wood siding on the outside immediately. 3 weeks later, the leaks are back into the interior of the house. I either have to pay someone again to come break up the dam or live with a leak when I just paid 15,000 to solve this problem. Due to the extreme winter, I am one of many leaks Graves is hearing about this winter, and so I am not priority. I am not expecting a fix in the winter, I understand that cannot be done (not even sealing up the flashing?). But be forewarned that if you do have issues caused by ice, they will not assist you in battling the leak, or breaking the dams to stop it, as it would be impossible for them to do this for all of their customers. I understand due to extreme winters problems will happen. But for 15,000 on a residential, a brand new roof should not leak. On the positive side, the front (south facing) of the house has a great improvement from last year. No icicles, no ice damming. The back (north facing) is a totally different story - it is actually worse than last year. In summary, I feel like I was oversold. I was not informed ahead of time that the edgevents are useless and even harmful if there is ice damming. On a problematic roof that is prone to this, if I had known or realized ahead of time, I would have gone a different route. I was told all of the pros, none of the cons, left to learn them the hard way. Also dissapointed in responsiveness - left to deal with the leak on my own, since it is normal, due to the extreme winter, also everyone else apparently has the same problem - which is understandable. They have promised to look at the roof and make recommendations in the Spring.

I called their company and they called back the same day and I set up an appointment.. During the appointment one of their men came down and went on my roof and in my attic space. I told him my concerns and he told me what they could do to fix things for me. He called back later with a price. I agreed to the price and they set up a date for me.They called and reminded me the day before they were to start and a time they would be here. They were here on time and let me know what they were doing and how long it would take. It took only 2 and a half days. They again asked if I had any questions and explained every detail to me. When they completed the job they cleaned everything up and left without a trace of ever being here. I highly recommend this company. I would use them again for sure.

All the work was done in one day. Tarps were used to protect all the siding, of which I was very grateful. Tarps were also laid on the driveway and side yard to catch debris along with using a dumpster. The crew worked very diligently and were very professional. I am very pleased with the work that was done, and the new shingles look very nice.

Steve and Frank did an awesome job. Steve did the analysis (and quote) of what caused the water damage to the back half of my house including a recommendation to prevent future occurances. I added in some addtional projects to get several things done at the same time. Frank and the Graves Brothers crews were excellent and professional in all aspects. I would definitey hire them again for any future projects.

Ron was incredibly accommodating to the needs of the disabled customer.. The work done was of superb quality and it was never messy or inconvenient. We have used Graves before with superb results. We will likely use them again at some point in time.

What can I say, they kept their word on everything that they said they would do. They were on time, cleaned up the site every evening. Did their best to create as little mess as possible. The quality of the work was excellent. I can't say enough good things about Graves Bros.

The siding and gutter replacement people did an excellent job. They all worked right along to finish the job in a timely manner.

It was under warranty. They are a local company and they have been around for almost forty years. They are accessible if you feel that something is not right. I did not expect perfection when they had so much to do. They are reputable. It was not cheap but, it was a fair price.

I could not have been MORE HAPPY with Graves Bros! Graves was actually my third estimate and I was truly grateful I called them. Steve Kline was the only one that actually took pictures, measured, went up to the attic, all to ensure an accurate estimate. When I received their quote there was no question who I was using and I have not regretted my decision at all!!! I will always recommend Graves: Great price...professionalism of ALL the crews.... to the clean-up every day.... their attention to detail....reliability....amazing how quick they are. On top of my great experience with Graves, I have been told by many neighbors that I NOW have the best looking house in the neighborhood!!!

Their presentation was awesome and they came in with folders full of information and samples of things. They took their time to explain everything and answer my questions.

Very professional. A little slow getting back to us but it was spring - so contractors very busy.

A very pleasant woman answered the phone and listened to my concern that the roof has a small leak which was active during this spring's freeze/thaw cycle. She asked me how old the roof is. When I said that I thought it was about 9 years old, she explained that they do not do roof repairs but would give me the number of another person who could look at it. If that person felt it needed a new roof, he would refer me back to Graves Bros, or would give me a quote for him to do the work if it needed a repair. The woman was cheerful and remembered my name. So, all in all very professional and I would call them again based upon her manner. I gave an overall B as it seemed strange to give an A when they weren't providing ALL roofing services including repair. I did try to leave a message with Bob (the number she supplied) but the mail box was full. But this is clearly not a reflection on Graves Bros.

I had 5 estimates from local reputable contractors and Graves Brothers was one of the lower bids. I was very pleased with the service. The crew showed up early and stayed late. They cleaned up every day before leaving. I would definitely use them again

Graves brothers was very professional and did a great job with all the installations. There was a quality problem with the glass in the doors and Graves Brothers went to bat with the manufacturer and distributor. They made the problem right without any impact to us as the customer. They were exceptional, trustworthy and affordable.

Steve was with the 4th company we contacted to give us an estimate. He was right on-time, and very thorough on his inspection and explanation of the services to be provided and the material to be used. All question were answered and we were very happy with the quote. It was one of the lowest we received from all of the companies. Dave, the job planner called us with a one week window that they would start the job. We had a very rainy week leading up to the end of the quoted week. There was a window in time for them to deliver the material on a Saturday. I was told that the work would begin Monday at 7:30 am. The workers arrived right at 7:30, the haul-out container came next, and we had a crew of 5 men up on the roof tearing it off. They made sure to protect my wife's gardens, and worked all day installing the new roofing. They performed a beautiful job and had everything cleaned up and gone by 5 pm. I would recommend Graves Brothers and did so when a neighbor stopped by asking questions.

This was a big job. Old house with all the old house challenges. The roof looks great. They were very responsive to all my concerns. I am very picky and they took it all in stride. They came up with the right solution for this old house. They paid a lot of attention to detail, quality and aestetics. I would not hesitate to use them again. The going was a bit slow but only due to the weather challenges. They did make sure all was also well covered as they worked between the rain storms. A truly quality company. I am very happy with the work performed as well as the solutions they came up with. Note that they were not the cheapest bid (I had one higher and two lower)but the price for the scope of the work was fair.

compleI was very happy with our initial talks with John at Graves Bros. He did a great job of explaining what they would be doing and the options we had. It didn't hurt that they came in with the lowest estimate of all the companies we had contacted. A few weeks later we got a call to schedule the roofing job, but we were going out of town for a few days so I was told they would call us the next week to give us a definite date. We were a bit surprised when they showed up the day after we returned to do the roof as we did not receive any word that they would be coming that day. However, they did a great job and were able to remove the old roof and complete the new one within the day! The did a pretty good job of cleaning up afterwards though there was still some debris around the yard. A few days later they repaired a gutter we were having a issue with and a few days after that came to install the windows. It took them about an hour to remove/install the windows and they look/work great! Also they took my Angie's List coupon even though I did not present it at the time of contract signing(which it says on the coupon, oops). In all they were very responsive, affordable, and did a quality job! I would definitely hire them again for any home improvement projects we have.

This was A+ service from the beginning of the process, when estimator Steven Caamano came to the site to look at the job. Steve was a great salesperson who listened, answered questions, made suggestions and patiently explained the reasons for his recommendations. Steve was responsive, called when he said he would and was there for questions and concerns. In short, a 100% professional who always made us feel like we made the right decision. The roofing crew was also excellent. Throughout the process, they cleaned up as they went so well that we never saw debris around the house. Moreover, extensive plantings made it difficult for them to work efficiently, however, they progressed quickly and with little disruption to the planting beds. Very hard working, respectful group. Since the job's completion, we have gone through a heavy period of rain, with no leaks detected. And the roof looks beautiful! We would enthusiastically recommend Graves Brothers for your roofing job. We also would put Graves Brothers on a short list for other home improvements projects.

Called for an estimate, left my name and phone number and never heard from them. I chose another company. My roof is over a $10,000.00 job. Their loss.

I loved the crew so much that I found out that this specific crew does kitchens and will be checking into having that crew back for my kitchen.

Very professional. Jobs were coordinated impressively. No time was wasted. Jobs progressed in an efficient and logical manner. People were trustworthy, very friendly. Respectful. Project was finished in the time frame they indicated. Everything looks and works great. Extremely happy with this company.
