Great. They were prompt and professional. Post work, I received a detailed explanation of what was done and what would be required in the future (inspection of the additional pump since it connects to the water supply.
Description of Work: Purpose of visit: To dig underground and insert pipe for a standard existing sump pump. Prior to putting the pipe underground, the sump pump had an attached hose that ran from a pipe to the middle of the back yard. Also, installed a water-pressure pump that is a fail-safe pump in lieu of the standard pump failing.

I chose Gatti right off of Angie's List so I didn't even call anyone else. I was very happy with the experience. 1. Receptionist was very friendly, helpful and thorough, great job. 2. Brian showed up 15 minutes after I called. 3. He clearly wasn't trying to replace parts that didn't need to be replaced or do anything else to inflate the bill. He was quick and efficient. I was very pleased with the job. I highly recommend Gatti Plumbing and will use them next time I need a plumber.

I was having my bathroom remodeled by another contractor and needed my toilet moved slightly. The old waste drain pipe for the toilet was cast iron and rusty. Although it was not leaking, I decided to replace it anyway to avoid future problems. The contractor suggested a plumber since the house is old and it could get complicated. I called Gatti since I have used them in the past and have been satisfied with their work. The representative was supposed to meet me at home on a particular day and never showed up. He had gone to the wrong house. We set up another appointment and he came on time and estimated the job to be 2-4hrs at approximately $400. I asked them to call the bathroom contractor directly to discuss the job, which they did, though it took a couple of reminders for the Gatti rep to call the contractor. Two plumbers, Dan and Charlie, came on time and completed the work efficiently and professionally. They replaced the waste pipe, which also joined to the bathtub drain pipe and the main cast iron house drain pipe. It was a small area in which to work between floor joists and in my opinion, somewhat complicated. My contractor confirmed that the job was well done. Though it was slightly more than the estimate, considering the age of the house (built 1926) and the complexity of the job, I believe it was a fair price.

My basement had flooded 4 or 5 times with me trying every possible thing I could think of to remedy the situation myself before I turned to Angie's List. After pouring over the listing, I chose Gatti because of all the positive reviews left by their past customers. I was not disappointed. Brian showed up within the time frame given me by the Gatti secretary. (On a very hot, humid day.) He was pleasant, knowledgeable, and completely not bothered by my incessant questions. I explained to him what I had tried already, and he told me what he was going to do. He went back out to his truck, hauled in a rather large, noisy, electric router, and proceeded to clean out the main drain of plant roots. He then ran the water to make sure everything was clear. He explained to me why the roots get in the main drain of old houses, and why it would probably need to be done every year (I've been here 5 years without having any problems; so we'll see). He cleaned up the floor even though I told him he did not need to because I still needed to clean out the whole basement from the last deep flood. I am so happy this headache is all over! (I waited this long to write a review because I wanted to make sure that it was indeed over.)

Gatti plumbing was very prompt and assessed the work that was needed to fix the issue. Gus maticulously removed the bath tile and dry wall to get to the root of the problem. He did an outstanding job fixing the faucet threads and replaced the fixtures. He removed all debris and thoroughly cleaned the area. We will definitely call on Gatti Plumbing for any future plumbing needs.

I called Gatti Saturday morning and got a nice young man at the answering service. I was told he would get a message to the repairman who should be calling me shortly. An hour later, I called the answering service back, since I hadn't heard from anyone. The same man said he send out the message again. This time, a repairman called me shortly afterward. He said he could be at my house in about two hours, which would be around 1:00. At 1:00, he called me, very apologetic, and said he needed about another hour, because the job he was on was more complex than he realized. I heard nothing from him or anyone until 4:30 when another repairman called, He said he was on the next shift and was helping the first repairman finish up his shift. He said he could be at my house in 20-25 minutes. I said no, since I had to go out at 5:15. I told him what had transpired during the day with regard to the original repairman. He was very, very apologetic and asked if he could come later that evening or if someone could come Sunday morning. I said we could try Sunday morning and we agreed on 8:00. By 8:35, nobody had showed up or called, so I called the answering service and told them to forget it. The man I spoke with this time was neither friendly nor apologetic and didn't seem to care very much. At 8:47, the repairman called, asking why I had cancelled. I told him. He said he was 15 minutes away and would still come if I liked. I asked what sort of discount I would get for having wasted my Saturday waiting for him and he offered to not charge me for the service call. I agreed to let him come. He called back a few minutes later to tell me his GPS said it would take him closer to 25 minutes. He arrived when he said he would and although he was very quiet and rather uncommunicative, he did the job professionally, explained to me what he had done, and apologized for the disaster the previous day. I was sufficiently satisfied that I would consider using Gatti again.

On Sunday afternoon I noticed a leak in the basement coming from next to the soil stack under the first floor toilet. I joined Angie's List and found Gatti Plumbing. I called, got an answering service. Within 15 minutes I got a call back, and in another hour or so I had a plumber at my house. He diagnosed the problem and went right to work, no nonsense. In another hour I was all set. Gatti Plumbing told me up front there would be a trip charge of $52 to come outside Monroe County, and that it would be overtime on a Sunday to come out, at $52 per half hour. With tax, the bill was $170. Worth every cent. The plumber who came out, Brian, was polite and professional, and even put a tarp down to protect the floor. I'm pleased with the work and the price to come out on a Sunday. I'd recommend them to anyone. Thanks Angie!

Overall, I was happy with the outcome. I was told it would be a flat fee of $200. Apparently, that only covered the first hour, and it took them several hours. They started charging me extra without telling me until the final bill was produced got $500. When I complained, it was reduced somewhat. I then wrote a review here expressing my displeasure, and they agreed to only charge me the originally-quoted price. Chalk it up to a misunderstanding, though I am quite sure I did not misunderstand. Because they eventually agreed to give me a refund, I changed my overall grade to a 'B'.

Easy to schedule an appointment, arrived on time, and did the work for less than $100 in less than an hour. Reasonable priced and efficient with no frustration points at all.
Description of Work: Washing machine waste water tub was draining very slowly and then had a slow leak. The plumber came and installed new PVC piping for the drain to replace the worn out, rusty, and clogged 'elbow' piping that was underneath the tub. He also explained how to clean the drain in the future and the dangers of trying to use a snake to unclogged the pipes.

The sump pump failed again this week. This really had me ready to give this company another bad review, but the owner Mr. Gatti came out personally. He reviewed the situation gave me the apology for the mess and brought a serviceman with him to fix the issues that caused me to call the plumber in the first place. He also did this without charge. Like any business there are going to be problems, it is how you deal with them that determines the customer experience. To Mr. Gatti, I thank him for personally handling the issues are getting this under control. I wil be using them again, because at least I know the owner has integrity. Thank you, FYI: The original expereince I am leaving as it describes what happened and my impression of the company after spending an hour cleaning up the plumber's mess. This goes to show how effective the owner is; however, because if the owner can turn this around like he has . Then you know either he has integrrity, is an amazing salesperson, I am a fool or some combination therein. I won't know the answer until I can say I have gone at least a year without issues with this pump. Original Experience Poor: I have a set up with a jet pump that acts as a back up to prevent water in the basement. There are two other sump pumps as well, the main, and a battery backup unit that includes an alarm system that tells me when the main pump fails. This alarm activated last night and the jet pump was running most of the night until I could call the plumber this morning. I waited hoping that the water would be pumped out and the pump would stop on its own. When I called at 7:15am the answering service told me they would fax a message about my situation to the Gatti and then they would call me back. Responsiveness, I had to call them back at 7:45 and they had to look up the fax to know what I was talking about. It also took over an hour for the plumber to arrive. (One positive point is that he called ahead of time) Please note that I installed the original pump with backup, I only used the plumber because of the jet pump). I couldn't repair this, because when the jet pump was installed the plumber put holes in the cistern cover and ran the pipe through it. I couldn't remove the cover without undoing the plumbing. This was also Gatti who installed the Jet Pump. I called them again because the reviews on Angie's list appears to be good, and although I couldn't do my own maintenance the system has worked fine for a number of years. Quality: When I pay for someone to work at $80 an hour I expect the job to be complete and restored to prior conditions. This was not the case. As it turned out the main pump was only clogged. Unfortunately the plumber forgot to unplug it and while he had the outgoing pipe disengaged he managed to clear the float so the pump activated and basically water (and very red clay) exploded everywhere. At that point I left to take a call for work. When I returned about 30 minutes later there was even more water. Punctuality: Neutral not ETA was given, but they did show up around 8:55. I had a 9:00am meeting so I know what time it was. Professionalism: The gentleman didn't wear booties in the house and tracked water through the upstairs and the basement. He never cleaned up his mess. I don't consider wiping a couple areas with a rag with your foot cleaning. The spare drop down ceiling tiles I kept in that closet were ruined, the walls, floor and door were covered with water and clay. Even the exercise equipment outside the room was covered with water and clay. Never wiped off. He left with the pump alarm not activated. This is partially excusable as the battery back up needed distilled water, but that alarm wasn't going off before he arrived, so I suspect it may have something to do with all the water that was spread over the battery. I would think that it would be part of his job to restore the system to previous working order. That may have cost extra time, but would have been more professional. Price: He charged me for an hour in a half and he finished work at 9:50. So I understand some contractors claim that they can charge for the time they take to go to and from their dispatch location to the client. I disagree. In my understanding, the travel time has always been the cost of doing business. The customer should only have to pay for the work that is actually performed. Plus, if part of that time is driving, I don't know any drivers that get $80 an hour! As a new parent with our first child on the way our budget is tight. So I appreciate he didn't charge me for cleaning, but he didn't even apologize for the mess and explain why he left it. I would have been more accepting with an apology. Accidents happen, but professionals with integrity fix their mistakes. Thank you,

I had some issues with the hose being installed and functioning like it had befopre it needed to be replaced, and it did take 3 visits to get it all taken care of. Everytime the plumber came he/they were always pleasant, courteous and neat. When Mr. Gatti heard about my dissatisfaction with the number of visits it took to make everything right, he called me to ammends and let me know how sorry he was for the inconvenience. I am very impressed with his tenacity for making everything right and can understand why he has such a thriving local business. I would use them again because they stood behind their work and truly wanted to make everything right to my satisfaction..
Description of Work: I came home late from work and found that the hose for my pull out faucet was leaking beneath the sink. I called Gatti in the morning to see if they could come out and they were there quickly to look at the leaking hose. I was told it was just the hose that was leaking, was asked how old the fixture was ( @3 years old) and told that was not unusual for this type of hose to have leaks at this point in it's lifespan and that the new hoses were being made of different material because of this problem. I guess I have a diferent frame of reference for how long things should last than the manufacturers, unfortunately.

We had a mess on our hands trying to remove old rusted faucets from our '50's house to install new ones. I called Gatti and theyhad someone here within a couple hours of our call. The service man was knowledgable and professional. It was a terribly hardjob removing the old hardware but it was done with success and our new faucets installed with only one problem-a broken pipe which was repaired as well. The man wore slippers over his shoes without complaint. On the plus side and for a very reasonable up-charge, the plumber installed shut-offs under our 2 sinks. We were pleased to have this work done promptlyand well.

I was able to get a service appointment within 2 days of calling Gatti, and received the requested first appointment of the day. Chuck arrived after calling to let me know he was on his way, and we walked through the three projects he would be working on. He replaced our garbage disposal with one in stock on his truck, then moved on to the bathroom faucet replacement, which I had supplied. Unfortunately that project turned out to take much longer than expected, thanks to my vintage 50s plumbing. Chuck kept me updated on progress throughout, cheerfully telling me this was the hardest faucet replacement he'd ever done! Old knobs had to be sawed off at sink level, the pipes underneath the sink were corroding and crumbling, and the water shut-off valves were not functiioning. Needless to say, the faucet replacement turned into an entire sink plumbing replacement. I was so glad to know that he was fixing what was a ticking time bomb in terms of a major leak. The final pipe repair in our basement was a quick fix, but Chuck was still at the appointment much longer than he had anticipated - through on fault of his own. He was as efficient as possible given the unknowns of the faucet replacement, and kept me in the loop on his progress. He was neat and tidy, replacing everything under the sinks he worked on, and cleaning up all work debris. He was also great with our dog! The total cost was actually less than I had expected once the faucet project turned into a much larger one. I would highly recommend Gatti Plumbing and will use them again.

Initially, Gatti responded on the same day and fixed the issue within about 45 minutes. The corrected issue later sprung a leak about two weeks later, and it appeared that the new trap was installed incorrectly. I called Gatti back and they agreed to send someone right away. When the day appeared to close with no one arriving, I called again and they had sent someone to our old address and only had our old phone on file (even though they had been at our new house just two weeks earlier). We worked together to correct their clerical errors, and they then sent someone to the new address right away. After some on-the-phone negotiations, Gatti apologized for the clerical error and indeed only charged $13 in parts for the second visit, essentially fixing their prior error in full. While the whole experience was a bit frustrating, Gatti acted professionally and made good on their end by providing the second service free of any labor charges. The repair has been solid to this day.
Description of Work: Gatti Plumbing replaced the P-trap under the kitchen sink, requiring some expertise to correctly connect it to the old-fashioned plumbing in the surrounding area.
