Empire Today - Rochester

I had a carpet installed in my living room and dining room in November 2013. The warranty was 1 year. After 2 years the carpet started to bunch up in places. I didn't think too much of it but as time went on the bunches became more obvious so I finally contacted them last week. (3/2017). I described the issue and was told that it was out of warranty but they can have the carpet re-stretched to take the bunching out for $150. I figured okay and scheduled the work with them for the following Friday. A couple of days later, while on a business trip, I received a call at 8:30 PM from a person contracted by Empire Today. He asked what the issue was, I described the problem and told him that the girl at Empire Today scheduled me for a Friday appt. At that point, the man laughed and said that he wouldn't possibly be able to do it Friday and who did I talk to at Empire Today. I did not have the papers with me and told him so. I also told him that it was not right to call a person at 8:30 PM to discuss such things and the fact that he laughed at me was downright RUDE. He changed his tune immediately and began apologizing. I was not happy and told him that I would be in touch the following day. I texted him the next day and told him that I was not interested in his services. I called Tiara at Empire Today this morning and told her that I am no longer interested in Empire Today fixing their installation issues. I also told her that its quite a situation that a 3 year old carpet installation needs to be stretched to fix the bunching. To me its either a low quality carpet or it was improperly installed to start with. I had very good things to say about this company until this issue. I would NOT recommend them to install carpeting in your house. Shame on you Empire Today.
