Not sure why I give giving this guy another chance. He had no people skills, is very rude. But I'm done with him now. Was on vacation for the month of March, got back April 2. Called April 3rd to tell him we needed repairs done to the lawn because of the plow. He said it's in the contract that we have to send in a request by April 1st. Not being home to notice the damage meant nothing to him. He said we should know what the contract says because we've been customers for years. Really? He was also rude to our elderly neighbor. Don't know what his problem is but he won't have the business from this neighborhood anymore. Maybe he just has so much work that he doesn't care.

He came recommended by a neighbor and since he lives in my neighborhood, I decided to go with him. What I found is that generally he showed up and plowed the driveway as expected. A few times he didn't show up until mid afternoon. On one of these occasions I took it upon myself to clear the driveway myself and he then showed up about ten minutes afterward. I was confused so I called him. He insisted that there wasn't 3 inches of snow and he was only coming around to do some cleanup making some snide remark that he would come over and measure it etc. Of course by then it was a mute point because I had already cleared it myself. During the winter he or the others he used plowed the snow six or eight feet onto the lawn area near the street. In doing so he ripped up hugh patches of grass on both sides of the driveway and fractured the driveway near the street part of the apron. I called him to find out if he had any plans of repairing the lawn area and asked if he would take a look at the area of the driveway that I thought he had damaged. His response was that all of that is just part of what happens when you get your driveway plowed. I don't think so. Several neighbors had their driveways done by other contractors and that was not the case. What I did notice about Empire/ Stavalone 7233315was that the goal seemed to be getting the driveway plawed in as short a time as possible. Sometimes it took less that a minute. I think in doing thigs so quickly little attention was paid to the consequences and the results.

They had originally scheduled for Labor Day, and when I realized that it was a holiday, I called to check if they meant to do that and if they would still be coming. They never returned my call and didn't come either. They called later in the week to reschedule. The overall application was good but they got quite a bit on the cinder blocks of my home in one section. They didn't take any off the bill to make up for it, just left me with an "I'm sorry about that".

Waited all day, ready to meet and assist. Sealing team arrived late, before a rain storm. I gave team a monetary tip and overpaid the estimated cost of sealing the driveway $10.00 by check. After a rainy night I had this company back to repair washed out areas. They brushed some areas, but, missed others. This sealing work continued to erode because of lack of durablity of sealing product. I sent a certified letter expressing my dissatifaction with Empire Sealers. I ask for my $10.00 overpayment. That was in 2011. I have not recieved any refund. I used Magic Sealers of Hilton, NY this summer (2012) and the comparison between Magic and Empire is stunning! I will alway have Magic Sealers come back to my home again and again. I wish Empire Sealer well, but, they are not welcomed on my property.

I called for an estimate on a Thursday afternoon. On Saturday morning, he called me up and told me that he could seal my driveway, but today was the only day that he would do it. He quoted me 200 dollars. I told him that I had a few cracks that needed to be filled and he told me that would cost me an extra $250 dollars bringing my total to $450 dollars to seal my driveway and fill a few cracks. I told him that I needed time to think about. He told me that I had a half hour to decide before he would be gone. As luck would have it, another company called and sealed and filled the cracks in my driveway for $130.

I saw their card that one of their employees was putting in the doors and thought that their estimate was good so I called them right away. Their estimate was lower than the others who came by but their job was good. Our driveway looked very good when they were done.
Description of Work: Empire State Sealers came out and did work on our driveway. They trimmed the hedges, cleaned with a blower, provided a barricade and they primed the grease stains.

ESS left a flyer for driveway sealing for a reasonable price. I had it sealed a few years before by Baughman's magic seal and was satisfied, but lazily decided to go with whoever left a flyer with the price estimate. My mistake. These guys jerked me around for several weeks with no-shows, sad excuses, and eventually a bad attitude. I decided to forget them and call Magic Seal again... Wow. Service, punctuality and fair price! DO NOT bother with this company.

I hired these guys to plow my driveway for the "season". This was to include unlimited trips and multiple trips in a day. At first things were fine- they came early and cleaned the driveway to the pavement. Recently after several inches of snow they did not come at all and needed to be called. When I did call they were rude- stopped me in mid sentance and asked me to please hold, then placed me on hold for several minutes until I finally hung up. They eventually called back and finally came! Today they did a horrible job... After 16 inches of snow I was totally snowed in. When they did come (about 3pm) they left several places where there was about 6 or more inches... they managed to plow over the stakes that marked the grass (which were still visible when they were plowing) but left a ton of snow in the driveway. After several hours of attempting to call (nobody answered and voicemail was full of course!) I just gave up... Will never even think of using these people again-

Very poor. Will never use again or recommend. It is now very late in the year to get this important job done. A telephyone message expressing my dis-satisfaction was never returned. If they had at first said the price would be that high, I would simply had used someone else. In fairness, they had been good in the past.
Description of Work: Empire was to seal my driveway on 8/10/2006 for $49. At that time I explained that the driveway, which they had sealed before, was new but had been sealed once. They felt the $49 fee was still acceptable. They asked to cancel just before 8/10 as they had no additional business in the area. I agreed. They canceled on the new date, 8/29/2006, when it rained. No problem. They finally came on 9/7 and refused to do the job claiming it was too little as the driveway was new and wanted at least $80. The employee was very rude. I refused service at $80 as I had other flyer offers in the $55-$65 range.
