I have worked with DTN Security for over 30+ years. Over those years I’ve had two homes protected by them and they never failed to be responsive and professional. Their pricing for installation and for monthly monitoring is very competitive and much lower than their competition. I would highly recommend them. I now live full-time in Florida and wish they were here to meet my security needs.

I can not sing the praises on DTN Security high enough. The security system on my house was installed when the house was built in 1977. I picked out the things that I wanted and had an electrician install them during construction. It was a 6 volt wired system that consisted among other things of under carpet detectors which eventually stopped working. In 1999, after attending a home show, I contacted Guardian Protection (home office Pittsburgh) to upgrade the system. They installed motion detectors, a heat sensor, a sensor that alerts if the temperature goes below 40 degrees and set things up so that if the system is set off, a phone call is made to a central station which calls me and if they can't get through, calls the police or fire dept. All went well until the back up battery stopped working and the system begin making beeping noises every few minutes. I called Guardian and they mailed out a new battery, but it was not the right one. Before sending it back, I goggled Security Systems and found DTN Security. As it turns out, I got Lililan, the wife of the owner. I asked her if they sold batteries, she said no, but gave me the name of a battery store on Jefferson that she thought would have it (which I thought was very nice since I was not a customer of hers) She also inquired about how much I was paying each month to have the system monitored, and when I told her the price, she said that she thought that she could beat it by about 1/3 and offered to send someone out who was familiar with "old systems" to check it out. I went ahead and bought the new battery, but thought why not have someone come out particularly since my 2 outdoor sirens were not working. She sent Tony out to inspect my system and after looking at all the components, they gave me a quote of $350 to install the new sirens and smoke detector and $284.47 per year to switch the monitoring of my system over to a local company here in Rochester. I decided to accept their offer and on May 24 Tony came over at about 10 AM, and very professionally and methodically, began to remove the old components and install the new ones. He also checked out all the wiring and made some changes to the system that now allows us to arm the perimeter, while disconnecting the motion detectors so we can move in the house with out setting off the system. Tony was here from about 10 AM until 5 PM and I cannot say enough about how pleased I was with what he did. What a "find" to have a technician who understands both 12 and 6 volt systems and can integrate them and make them work. Part of the installation was crawling under our deck in a very confined area to remove the old siren and install the new one. When he left at the end of the day, I asked him if I could stop by the office and pick up a new yard sign to replace the old Guardian sign. He said no need, he would drop one off the next time he was in the neighborhood, and sure enough about a week later, the new sign arrived. The bottom line is that I got a repaired and upgraded system (and given the cost of the materials and the time to install them I thought was a real bargain), and will be paying substantially lower monitoring costs each year, while supporting 2 local businesses.
Description of Work: Came to my house at no charge to evaluate what I wanted to have done. Gave me a quote, which I accepted. Returned and did the work which consisted of: Replacing 2 old outdoor sirens from a previous 6 Volt system which were no longer working with new sirens on a 12 volt system. Replaced a 16 year old smoke detector Checked all wiring and systems

Although I have not purchased any service yet, I still wanted to offer my opinion to potential customers to make clear, that in a world of deceit, their are companies out there that will put the customer first. I will definitely recommend his service to others.
Description of Work: Don Noga, owner of DTN Security really impressed me. He is very compassionate about what he does and any suggestions of his service he offers is in the best interest of his customers and their families.

Description of Work: I 've used DTN Security before on several occasions. This last time I wanted a thorough security consultation prior to the holidays regarding a residence in Pittsford, NY where I was spending some time working on an assignment. As always, Don Noga and his firm DTN were on the spot right away, polite, professional expert in every way, and left the premises far more secure than before. I can't recommend them highly enough. Five stars and beyond.

I was concerned about home security where I live, and asked Donald Noga of DTN Security to come and insect my home to check for any vulnerabilities, to see if I might get a security system installed. The service was free, prompt, professional, and not only did I not get a "hard sell," Donald, who according to his website has been licensed as an electrician, pointed out weaknesses in the heating and electrical system, and even mentioned a few quick and easy non-technical things I could do to make my home safer. We're still working out the details of a home installation, but I was really impressed by his evident knowledge and his practical suggestions on how to make my house safer. Impressed enough to want to share my experience.
Description of Work: The provider made an on-the-spot home security assessment for possibly installation of a full security system.
