I called Garfield after spending two months trying to get something out of the walls -- we didn't know what it was, but could hear it every night (very noisy!). A prior company suggested it was rodents (because nocturnal) and suggested, first, Ramik poison, and when that didn't work, mouse snap traps in the basement, cautioning that if it was a rat, it could take time before it would approach a trap. All in all, I spent two months with poisons and traps in vain. Finally I called Garfield in desperation and he tackled it head-on. With his expertise sealing up holes and placing both live and rat-size snap traps, we began right away catching what turned out to be a "community" of flying squirrels -- 15 all told. The sealing-up appears to have been thorough, as there hasn't been a repeat invasion (after several weeks). Although some confusion occurred about the fee for the work, the company was very easy to communicate with in regard to my concerns, and they offered a compromise that worked for us both. So, they're not only experienced and effective, but also a reasonable and ethical outfit. The next time I have an animal nuisance problem, I will call Diamond.

Description of Work: I use them every year for carpenter bee spraying on the house. I pre-pay which saves money. Also one year, I had some other work done on the house which effectively removed the spray. They came out and resprayed the area for free. Very prompt replies when you get the answering service.

Garfield is the best! I have had him to my apartment and home for a bat at 2am, for wasps and now for mice. He's quick to respond and can make time to come out quickly even for non-emergency issues. He's thorough and helpful and very reasonably priced. For today's mouse issue, he told me I probably only have a few mice rather than a big infestation. He located the entry point and told me what to do and gave me the option of doing it myself or having him do it for a fee. I'm so happy with his service!
Description of Work: Evaluated mouse problem.

Description of Work: I had a spider infestation in my basement when I moved into my house a year ago. The exterminating company I hired categorized the spiders as wolf spiders. The exterminating company treated the basement by spraying the baseboards and sprayed the perimeter of the first floor and sprayed the whole outside perimeter and under the deck. Low and behold a month later the wold spiders were appearing again in the basement. I called the exterminating company and they were hesitant to come back out but did and retreated. The representative that returned my call claimed he would leave A sticky trap, but never follwed through. A month later the spiders started reappearing in the basement. This time I was instant the owner come out to address the issue. The owner retreated but this time used dusting powder for the basement. A few spiders appeared here and there inI the months to come, but I figured the worst was over. The beginning of April I noticed a black spider in the kitchen that was similar to the black spiders in the basement. This is the first time I noticed black spiiders on the first level. A few days later I noticed three more black spiders in the basement. My fear had come true, the spiders were back! This time if I was going to hire an exterminator I wanted to go with the best. I had four different companies come out (mostly all A rated on angies list) to give me an estimate and explain how they would treat the problem. I asked each company if having my basement partly finished had anything to do with then spiders coming back. Only one of the exterminating companies addressees the part of the basement with the wall to be an issue, the other companies claimed it wouldn't having any effect. The first company that came out, the gentleman called the black spiders garden spiders and said he would treat the basement using a baseboard treatment and would treat the outside perimeter of the house and spray under the deck. The next company the gentleman categorized the spiders as wolf spiders and said he would only spray the basement, the outside would be extra, and the garage would be extra as well. The third company the guy wasn't certain but thought the spiders were wolf spiders but claimed his sprayer wouldn't reach under the deck, so he would only treat the baseboards in the basement and the perimeter outside. garfield, from Diamond Pest Control came out and said the problem I'm having and the reason the spiders didn't go away the first time was because the wolf spiders burrow in the floating slab, seeing part of the basement is finished off he would need to get in behind the wall to spray, spraying the baseboard wouldn't be enough. Garfield spent a great deal of time trying to locate the source. Yes, I understand there isn't one source, but he went out of his way to check possibilities of where the spiders could be entering. Garfield went as far to take the insulation out of the rafters and noticed spider eggs. The spider eggs were that of the tan house spider, he recommended I vacuum the eggs and when he came to treat he would spray the rafters and insulation. Garfield even noticed rat,, squirrel, and chipmunk dropping in the rafters. Garfield proceeded to crawl under the deck and find where the whole was. Garfield also said he would spray the interior first and second level along with the outside, under the deck and garage. When Garfield performed the service he did exactly as he said he would. He even sprayed the pipe ways and bathroom fan! Garfield is available 24/7 and told me not to hesitate to call. I have yet to see one spider since garfield has come sprayed. Garfield was professional, observant and if it wasn't for him I would still be fearful to live in my house because of the spiders. For those taking the time to read this don't jump into hiring a company, get as many estimates as possible, and have them explain how they will treat the issue. Just because some companies have a big name doesn't mean they are the best...you would be surprised! Give Garfield a try, I promise you won't be disappointed. If you want an honest exterminator who knows what they are doing and has over 30 years experience, you want to go with Diamond Pest Control,

.I had heard rustling noises in a shared bedroom wall and an exterior wall one evening. Although we didn't have a persistent mouse problem, we do live in a rural subdivision and have seen mice outdoors as well as chipmunks. I called Diamond on a Saturday, expecting to leave a message for a visit for Monday, and the phone was answered by someone immediately. They paged Mr. Kyle and he called me back within the hour, making an appointment for Monday. On Monday, we did a walk-through and walk-around and he discovered an opening underneath our bedroom window bump-out, from which he pulled insulation and seeds. Within an hour and a half he had used building materials we had on hand and were going to throw out in the next day's garbage with his own that he carried on his truck and adapted them for use in closing the gap, working in a bit of drizzly rain and wedging himself between spiky barberry bushes in an awkward space to do the work without complaint. Mr. Kyle is very personable, cheerful, and reassuring, and goes out of his way to get the job done. I found the price quite reasonable. I had had him do work for me before... a carpenter bee problem that was solved after one visit, and a false alarm when we thought we had an animal in an upstairs bedroom (which he solved by climbing into a second story window, and didn't charge us for).
Description of Work: Mr. Kyle investigated wall noises, identified an entry point, and sealed it off.

There is nobody better than them as far as I am concerned. My impressions of the company were excellent. I liked the overall professionalism. The guy's name was Garfield Kyte. He really knew what he was doing and how to pinpoint where the problems were. He did a great job. I didn't have any problems with pavement ants after he left and very few with bees. They are no more nests on my house. The pricing was very good. He was very responsive. He showed up on time. I will use him again, but I hope I won't need to.

I am not positive of the date that I called Garfield, but I do believe it was sometime in July; he returned my phone call immediately.. Garfield was punctual, polite, and did not even charge me for his time spent at our home, but Garfield told us we did not have an ant problem. As time progressed I was still seeing what were carpenter ants in our family room and two of those ants were queens; I placed another call to Garfield; he still didn't think we had a problem. When conditions changed again I placed a third call to Garfield; this time no return call. I finally called another company who discovered two well established carpenter ant nests in the family room. In all fairness to Garfield, he may have thought we were a form of pest, but we did have a real problem and it was solved in less than an hour by another company.

It went great. The phone calls were promptly returned. Everything that was being done was explained. Any chemicals were also explained. I was able to watch from a distance. Mr. Kyte had a bee suit on. The whole process was interesting to watch and I'm glad the nest proved as big as I thought and larger than I was comfortable handling.
Description of Work: Evaluated the hornet's nest. Scoped out deck underneath for additional nests. Removed nest.

The guy that runs the place is Garfield Kite. If you call the guy with a problem, it is basically fixed the next day. We've only used them for getting rid of squirrels. He has been successful both times we have worked with him. He seems humane and has been here when he said he would be. His price is reasonable. He does follow-up and rudimentary repairs, so if the squirrel chewed through your house, he will fix it. The last time was around Christmas Eve and he had to come back several times to get rid of squirrels. The squirrels are gone. My wife called him the day before yesterday and the squirrels are gone now. I will use him as long as I get squirrels in my neighborhood.

Garfield was very personable and said that he would return to fill any bait traps that I found to be empty. 3 months later, the tenants were still seeing mice. I called and left messages several times to get him to come back but my calls have not been returned.
