Corrigan Moving Systems

Quite well. No damage, houses on both ends left spotless. A little more expensive than other quotes (can't say what the actual would have been) but worth it. A great value.

Gave an estimate once looked over apartment for items in apartment with limited packing for movers. Higher estimate than 2 other companies, but this estimatator seemed most professional. When I went to office to sign the estimate , it had been changed and was higher in cost. I guess this was because they had to use a smaller truck to get near the building doorway. The move was from Rochester, Ny to Youngstown, Ohio, (5 hours) However, I know we were over charged for weight because another persons stuff was on the truck as well, yet the truck was not even rated for as much weight as our estimate. The movers were very through, wrapping all the furniture. They were a bit late getting to the storage unit in Ohio because they got lost, but they called and kept in touch until they arrived. They packed the storage unit very neatly. One dinning room chair leg got broken when they unloaded the other guy's stuff

Awful! We were stood up the two times we made a scheduled appointment. No shows both times. The 3rd time they did manage to arrive, but had to deal with rude employee who did nothing but bad mouth his competition, defend the guy who didn't show up the two previous times, talked incessantly about defending their high price point, and basically told me I must not care about my furnishings and home if we were getting quotes from smaller competitors! All of this within 5 MINUTES of walking through the door! Never even made it past the living room before I asked him to leave. Guess what Corrigan? I choose your much smaller competitor and happy I did.

This was somewhat of a rush job (< 1 week notice) and had to take place on a Sunday. Several movers I called don't work on Sundays. Corrigan was up for the job, charging an elevated rate (which I expected). I paid their weekend rate for the minimum size job - 4hr, medium truck and two guys. I'd say the price was high but fair considering the unavoidable timing. The move was excellent. The lead mover communicated early, often, and well, and both guys worked really fast. I had everything ready for them, but the driver, Toby especially is just fast. Everything was packed well and handled carefully, no damage to anything. Toby was even careful with the truck, he never let a tire stray even an inch off the pavement when maneuvering at the origin and destination. Some additional tasks we lined up, like moving a few pieces of furniture from room to room at both origin and destination were handled cheerfully. When the job ended before the 4-hr minimum, Toby asked at least three times if there was anything else the crew could do for us. All throughout a great experience, I would use Corrigan again, especially with Toby in charge. His work ethic and professionalism took a lot of the stress out of moving day. I'll add that I've never hired movers before, I've always moved my own stuff, so I wasn't sure what to expect. These guys are pros.

The move was more difficult than usual as we lived in an upper condo with a minimum of two long staircases and sometimes three. We had the normal furniture for a 3 bedroom condo (1950 square feet) but had some heavy pieces and some large. The estimate was completed by Nicholas Leadford who was very knowledgeable and professional. Compared to another major moving company he was realistic about how to ship a large painting the 1/2 mile and helped to bring the price down. We walked through and talked about any special issues or concerns. One of my main issues in choosing a reputable company like Corrigan was the fact that our newly purchased home had refinished floors and freshly painted walls. We have used local companies in the past and they did a decent job but weren't as careful to prepare the floors and ensure there wasn't damage to the walls. The move took about 6 hours due to the stairs and the amount of furniture. The home we moved into is a 1938 build and had narrow stairs to the second floor and the basement. Getting one large cabinet in the basement was a challenge but they managed. The crew was excellent and communicated with us throughout the day about where to place the furniture and any other issues. They took apart on fold-out couch and put it back together. There were issues with a stripped screw but they stuck with it. They didn't stop working except to take very appropriate short rests due to the temperatures in the high 80's. This was a tough job but they remained positive and very helpful throughout the move.
