We were extremely disappointed with the overall quality of workmanship and materials provided by Comfort Windows and Doors. Here are a few examples: We discovered after the first year of having our windows replaced, that the majority of the windows were installed with standard drywall screws instead of the Zinc screws which were supplied and recommended by the manufacturer. As a result of using the incorrect installation screws, the white vinyl sills had rust stains. I took the initiative to investigate the matter myself and discovered that standard interior drywall screws were used to install our windows instead of the Zinc. We had to arrange an appointment with Comfort and have them remove all of the incorrect installation hardware and install the correct screws. There were also problems with many of the window screens, either not fitting properly or damaged. We found that many of the new Comfort windows were installed damaged. Therefore, new windows had to be ordered and another appointment had to be set-up with Comfort to replace all of the defective windows. One of the windows originally replaced was a large bay window, and after the Comfort Installation crew left we noticed multiple large hand-prints on the glass. We attempted to clean the glass the next day and discovered that the hand-prints were between the glass panels of the window assembly, a problem that occurred during manufacturing. We had to set-up yet another appointment with Comfort to have this window replaced. We ordered an expensive front door assembly and after the first year the door had warped and buckled. There were very distinctive ripples on the surface of our new metal door. This door has been replaced three times so far and it is still rippled as of this date. We have basically given up, our front door looks terrible. Comfort installed a new front storm door that turned out to be defective as well and had to be replaced. In addition, we discovered that the striker jam was very loose when you closed the door due to improper installation. We had to arrange another appointment to have Comfort repair the door. The new vinyl siding faded so quickly, about four years in total, that we hired another contractor to remove it and install another manufacturer's product.

We were very happy with them. They are a well known window replacement company in the area and that’s how we got to know about them. We don’t remember how much we spent on their services, but my husband researched a lot and it was a very fair price. They did a great job and their prices are fair. The people that we interacted with were really good. We did have a slight problem with one window, and they came down right away and took care of it. If we had more windows, we would have definitely used them again.

It was not a good experience. I went through hell. I wouldn’t go there and I won’t recommend them. Some people were real nice but the others were not. The guy who told me that I was imaging it was told to leave the house immediately and to send somebody else out here. I was talking to the management at that time. I resolved it myself.

I was happy with them. It was not cheap. Though they are expensive, they do good work. I liked that they are a family owned company. They were very exceptional and did a great job. I wanted very high quality windows because if which they turned out to be expensive.

They worked in the rain to and did a very nice job putting it together.

Overall I am pleased with the job. We got three estimates, one was considerably higher and was eliminated quickly. The second was very close to Comfort's and the only reason we went with Comfort was because I liked the texture of the siding Comfort used better. The initial contact with Comfort was through the salesman. he was prompt, professional, friendly and did a thorough job of estimating our project. He provided an all-in-one estimate that gave us the peace of mind of knowing we wouldn't be charged for any additional work that might be needed as this was an old house with many areas in need of repair. He also followed up after the job was started to make sure things were going as we expected. Our job was scheduled for about 8 weeks after we signed the contract and Comfort kept us updated as we got closer to the start date. When it was time to start they called and told us who would be doing our job and what to expect. When the crew started I spoke to the installer in charge of our job and was comfortable with his expertise and attitude. I felt confident that they would do a good job for us. They did cause a small problem that could have turned into a bigger problem though and I wasn't really happy with how it was handled. When they were installing the insulation board over the old siding they covered up the dryer vent and forgot to cut it open. They did this on a Saturday and left at around noon. Our tenant started a load of clothes in the dryer and noticed that the vent was not working properly, filling the house with moist exhaust. Fortunately she was smart enough to stop the dryer and call me. I immediately called Comfort and was told the person I needed to talk to was off until Monday and was sent to his voice mail. I left a message asking for a return call on Monday morning. I never got a return call until after I got home from work on Monday and had already spoken to the crew. They fixed it after I told them about it but they failed to acknowledge the seriousness of the issue and the installer acted a little annoyed at my explaining that they could have cause either a fire or a carbon monoxide incident if the tenant hadn't been aware of it. The siding installation looks great and I am impressed by the appearance of the house now compared to what it used to look like. There are many areas where it took some creativity to finish it in a way that would look good but they pulled it off. The new doors were installed on the first day and they look good and work smoothly and seal tight. I do think they were a bit overpriced but I wanted to have them installed as part of the whole job. The gutters were installed by a subcontractor after the siding was completed. I am happy with the appearance of the gutter installation as well. One other concern I had was how the final payment was handled. We paid 1/3 of the price when the contract was signed and it was stated in the contract that we would pay the balance when the job was completed. I was on my way home from work when I got a call from the installer telling me that they were finished and he had to get a check for the balance before he left. I told him the gutters weren't installed yet and he said that the gutters weren't part of his job and he had to get the money for the siding and doors. I told him to wait until I got there so we could talk face to face. When I got there I explained that we signed a contract for a job that included the gutters and I didn't care who did them but the job wasn't done until the gutters were on and I wasn't paying the balance until the job was done as stated in the contract. He responded by saying OK and that he always gets caught in the middle but the office tells him to get the balance. Comfort needs to straighten this out, it's not professional as far as I'm concerned. They ended up sending an invoice by mail after the gutters were done. That's the way it should be.

I received an energy credit from this project and they handled so that it was hassle free for me. The salesman was very honest and advised me the best avenues to take with this project instead of being focused on his companies profit. I am happy with their services and I would hire them again in the future.

It was fine and perfect. It was easy and they made it clear on what they were going to do. They told us what all our options were and we got to choose what we wanted to do and not do. They are coming today to give me another estimate on a different house.

The entire process was fine. No problems. All up front and informative during the sale. Installation was done very well and the crew was very professional.

Project went well, they showed up on time, cleaned up after themselves inside and outside. workers were great! we asked that they didnot smoke while here and they reskpected our wishes. the aluminum trim outside looks great.

.They send people that did seem to know what they were doing. They kept telling me that their foreman was out because his wife has had a baby. So these guys were on their own and they kept leaning the widows up against my furniture and it could break. I was not thrilled with them. It was supposed to take two days they took four days to complete the work. They put some of the windows then with the wrong finger I had ordered and I had to re-order. So my biggest problem was while I was waiting for the re-order and for the job to be done I was always been told not to pay in full until the job is to your satisfaction. So I held off on the final payment and their manager called and left behind very nasty and profane message because I had not paid in full since the job was not done. He ended up coming to my house and apologising but it was not enough. I would not use them nor will I recommend them. Price wise I had received a couple of quotes and they were all close. Quality wise I am happy with the windows. They were punctual. But I will not use them again.

The installers were awesome , friendly professional, diligent and did a BEAUTIFUL job especially the outside flashing! for the price I paid I couldn't have done nearly as good a job myself or had a cheaper company do the job! I will have them come out for the rest of our windows and would recommend them to anyone looking for windows

sales person was knowledgeable and asked about income etc. he got my some extra grant money for the job. the installation went well but they left debrey on the lawn which also has snowed on it. I called them and they sent out another crew immediately to take care of it.

They were very quick and efficient. The quality of work was good. I will use them again in the future.
