Clark and Wolcott

After a storm, my back deck was damaged, I decided to change it for a patio, clark and wolcott did a great job on the removal of the old deck, in addition to the new patio stonework done on my new patio, surpassed my expectations and was done in a few days. Highly Recommended!

Absolutely terrible. Horrendous. He never showed up to do the work. He never had a ride to work thanks to his DWI. He always had an excuse that was everyone's fault but his own. He is working on other jobs in order to pay his workers for my job and did the same with my funds. He said that he didn't have competent workers. He would drop off materials one day and not show up until weeks later. We missed out on extra square footage and caused us to lose the amount of stone we had due to a closeout deal. We had to use a different cut of stone completely messing up the whole side of the patio. We covered the extra cost of gravel, grout,glue and seal-coat which isn't being done until next year which has already been paid for. This was not covered in the initial cost of $6,500 which should have included all parts and labor. I would give him rides to get the materials and he would make completely inappropriate sexual comments to me during these runs to get materials.

The work was not done by the owner Jeff, but by two of his helpers..nick and tony. They did a fantastic job of finishing up work that had been started by my dad years ago before he passed on. It' s not easy to pick up a job already started but they finished it beautifully. They were a joy to be around. Friendly, considerate, polite and hard workers. I am very happy with the job they did and would have this company again. It was a deal offered by Angie's and they did more work than anticipated but the owner still kept it at the price for the deal. I really appreciated this as we are retired. Thank you Jeff, Nick and Tony.

Jeff and his team did an outstanding job. There was some work (unexpected), as old homes often require, and all was handled professionally. Jeff's input and design ideas were great. Work was completed in a timely fashion and I was kept informed with progress updates. They were very patient with my changing mind and addressing any concerns I had at the time. A very good experience with my first major house renovations. Price was worth every penny. Thanks Jeff!! Job well done!

Did a good job however left gutter full of concrete rubble. Otherwise was a good job.

I bought the Clark & Wolcott Big Deal on Oct. 10, and got a message via Angie's List from Jeff Clark on 10/11. We set one date for him to stop over and assess the work, and he called to push it back by a day, I think, because of a time crunch. On Oct. 22, when Jeff Clark came to our home, he, my husband, and I discussed the masonry work that was needed on the side of our house. The work was going to be more expensive, Jeff was sure, than what the $149 would cover. We agreed that he would send us two quotes: - One quote would be for a temporary patch-up job that the $149 Big Deal would cover. It would seal the area where bricks had begun to crumble under the siding, letting cool air into the back of our kitchen cabinets.and - A second quote for the cost of a more substantial, more permanent job Jeff explained that he had been swamped (14 work requests) as a result of the Big Deal posting, so he didn't know if he'd be able to get to us in a timely manner, given his reliance on good weather. We agreed that he would send us the quotes and we would play it by ear as to when he could possibly do the job. He took my email address so he could email us the quotes. When we hadn't received the quotes by 10/28, almost a week later, I emailed Jeff. I didn't get a response so I phoned him later that week. He said that the more extensive work would cost $1800. I told him that we were not in a position to pay that right now, so we would just have him do the temporary patch-up job. He thought he could get to it in the next week (the week of 11/4). I explained that we would be away toward the end of that week, and he said that as long as we had a supply of water on the outside of the house (we did), he could get the work done. We returned home on Friday, 11/8, to find that nothing had been done. I felt like I had to pursue Clark and Wolcott to honor the Big Deal. Jeff was courteous and informative, but our experience with his company was disappointing, so we emailed Jeff on Monday, 11/11 to cancel the arrangement. My husband and I have since researched another contractor whose work looks VERY good from the pix on Angie's List. He has come out to look at and discuss the job and will do the work, for almost half the price, when we are in a position to cover the cost in the spring.

This provider was pleasant to work with, on time, polite and flexible. Two workers removed the brick, cement blocks and mortar making multiple trips to take the materials off site. They worked steadily and well together. They worked carefully and didn't damage the walls or floor despite using some power tools to drill out the concrete. They also didn't damage my wood floors moving the materials out of the house. I had some idea of the dust and Jeff Clark also warned me about it as well, so I had plastic up over the doorways and everything I couldn't move out of the room well covered, which helped a lot with clean up after, but they did a super job removing as much of the dust as was reasonable, and finished, what I think was a very big job, in one day. Given that this was in our living room, this was really appreciated. This work involved heavy lifting and reaching above the head to work, the men worked very hard without complaining to get it done and I recommend them highly.

We were very excited to get this deal because it looked terrific. It took a while to schedule with them. They showed up for a couple of minutes and said they would come out in a couple of weeks. They never called or showed up. I called them and they said they would come on a Monday but never showed up. They didn't bother in calling us. I felt that they were not excited to have my business.

Placed order on October 6, 2013 for masonry work ($149 for $300 worth of repair). Jeff Clark came to look at what was needed on October 9th, which included repair to front steps. He was friendly and indicated he could complete the job within a couple of weeks. After 3 weeks, he had not called or appeared, so we called him (Oct. 31). He promised to be here the following week (Nov. 4-8). Again, he did not appear or call. On November 15, 2013, we respectfully requested a refund.

I've made three phone calls and sent three emails with no response of any kind. I want a refund of my fee for failure to provide any service.

Jeff was a pleasure to meet and work with. He was thorough and explained all of our options (concrete vs paver) in perspective of price and pros/cons. His price was a bit higher than some others (they ranged from 5300 upwards), but we ended up not doing the project because its significantly out of budget. We also checked out some of his previous paver work, and it looked great. I would definitely recommend him, he knew what he was talking about and what he was doing.

They were very responsive. Jeff Clark came and gave an estimate the day we contacted him. His start time got a bit delayed due to weather, but he kept us informed. His crew was great, they tried to reuse some existing bricks for color matching, but when they proved too damaged and wet, they bought some bricks that matched as well as possible. I used my Angie's List coupon and it all went well. They cleaned our yard of all mortar chunks before they left. We would be interested to use them for some carpentry jobs in the future.

The work itself was great but the timing was not so good. They come to the door and inspected. I'm very pleased with the work, it was very good. He is a very nice person and they listened to what we had to say.

Never returned initial phone call: to Jeff 261-3180. Left VM. No response. Apparently uninterested.

Jeff and his team did a great job on a hard project. He was able to match the original bricks from our 1939 house and blend the mortar to match. When he removed the original porch roof, we discovered there was no brick behind it! Jeff charged us for the additional bricks, but not the labor. He was able to blend it together so it isn't noticable that work was done 75 years after the original construction.This was his second project with us and he did another outstanding job, we may do another.

They were personable and timely. They produced beautiful, high quality work. They offered good suggestions, and returned my calls promptly. The weather was very bad around this time and prevented us from sticking strictly to the original schedule. I thought this was going to hold the project up, but he actually completed the work sooner than I expected. He was very honest and professional. I was very pleased with the end result and would highly recommend Clark and Wolcott.

Exceptional service from the first phone call. Very Personal, honest and up front. Took the time to sit down and talk about the job and options of what can be done. Made me feel like my time and business was important. Didn't try to talk me into work that other companies quoted me for that did not need to be performed. Professionalism can be seen in the work performed. I have a busy schedule and work long hours, the job was completed over a few days and time was taken in his schedule to either come and talk to me or call me to keep me up to date on the project. Went above and beyond what was expected. I would highly recommend and if another project comes up, this will be my first and only phone call.

I spoke with Jeff Clark, he gave me the estimate and worked on the job. Clark&Wolcott handled the whole thing very well. From quoting to the cleanup at the end of the job. They were prompt on arrival and was a good value. I quoted other contractors and they wanted $13-$17 / sq foot. They were less expensive and did a great job. I'll have them do more work in the future.
