Canterbury Chimney Sweeps

Requested a quote through Angie's List but never heard back.

Punctual, tidy, expert, and professional. Would recommend this company any day, and hope to see them at least annually for years to come.

The service was great. Canterbury was responsive and the chimney professional that serviced us was very knowledgeable about his trade. I felt very comfortable having him in my home and the service he performed. Only wish I remembered his name in the event we needed to hire them again.

I got a call 30 minutes before the scheduled service to say they had truck battery problems and needed to reschedule. We rescheduled and service person called and came a little early that day. Service person did the chimney sweeping, but did not have equipment to do the listed safety inspection. Since my chimney was slanted at an angle he could only do a visual inspection of the fireplace basically without a camera. He also did not have a ladder to reach the chimney cap which also was listed on the invoice from Angie's List. So I did not get the written safety inspection also listed. This should just be called a sweep, not a chimney inspection. The company said they've asked Angie's List to change the listing without result. However, the company did not inform me ahead of time that I would not get most of the services I paid for. They did not offer any other resolution.

Everything went great. The tech showed up on time and was very knowledgeable. He took a look a the fireplace and determined there were a few minor issues that would need to be addressed. He noticed a crack in the chimney for the furnace and mentioned that I'd need to get the fireplace sealed to make the fireplace up to code. The tech did a great job. He was knowledgeable, polite and explained everything he was doing. The tech even gave me a name of someone that could seal the fireplace.

chimney was inspected but needed no cleaning, so no work was done. I paid 99 dollars for an inspection.

Everything went as promised. Tech showed up on time, cleaned and inspected the chimney and gave us some advice for further use. I had a side question about replacing a fireplace insert and was given good advice on what to look for, what to expect for installation and several local company recommendations.

Job was completed to my satisfaction.

I purchased the service ahead using a coupon through Angie’s List. When the tech arrived and looked at the chimney, he told me that it was in good shape and didn’t even need a cleaning. He provided me with a receipt that showed no charge and I was able to have money refunded by Angie’s List in a couple of days.

He did a fine job. He was busy for about an hour cleaning out the chimney. He gave us a very detailed report about what he would recommend we do. We'd give him all "A's". The price was reasonable. They were on time. Very professional. I would use him again.

Great. Chimney was clean, needed no work with the exception of some caulk to seal up some cracks. Brian was very nice, very professional. I will certainly recommend Canterbury to others and use them again when needed.

It hasn't "gone." I have not had a response from Canterbury yet. I really can't answer the question as to whether I would hire them again. I just hope nothing serious has happened to the staff which is preventing them from responding to me. I am in need of chimney inspection/cleaning. If anyone has any recommendations please advise. Thank you so much.

Took 2 trips, they did not have correct equipment either time

Guys were great! Very professional. Had to have some minor repair work done to the flue, which they took care of on the spot. Left no trace of themselves behind.

Brian was on time, in fact, slightly early, and texted me to ask if that was ok. He not only cleaned the chimney, he gave me advice on possible future repairs.

Very quick cleaning - 15 minutes. Didn't say goodbye.
