Steve was to come in November to service our furnace. He texted the day before to say he had the flu. We waited 2 weeks and contacted him to set up another date, he said he was very busy. We waited a month contacted him again, he made an appointment in 2 days at 8:30am. At 8:25 I get a text that he is at the door. There is no one at my door. I ask where he is.....he texted back that he hurt his back and can't walk. First he is at my door and then he can't walk! All the texts made no sense at all. I am very frustrated that he made and appointment and did not contact us to cancel. I would not recommend him to anyone. He is very unprofessional. I can not speak for his work because he never showed up nor was he courteous enough to cancel. I would advise you not to waste your time waiting for him to come, he is very unreliable.

Showed up for service ready with full Van to complement any needs. Booked after hours service to accommodate my schedule. Fast and through inspection instructing me on gas supply valves operation and use. My furnace was older model so he wanted to make sure it was structure sound and safe because he cares about your health and safety. Found everything operating above efficient. Did NOT recommended replacement. Only the cost effective safty service I asked for.

Steve is very meticulous and professional in his work. He personally sees to it that you get the best possible deal. He explains and teaches you why you need the items he quotes and projects your possible needs for the future. He has been in the business for many years and always is taking training to keep up with the latest technology and standards. He may take a bit longer than some other contractors but quality work is worth the wait. He cleans up the work space when the job is finished and makes sure you are satisfied with the job before he leaves. I'm looking to have Steve come back and set up a new AC system for us in the Spring! Steve's specialty is Geothermal systems.....well knowledged and one of the best in Rochester. It took nearly 8 months to complete.. We had an open trench in our front yard for 6 months. He rarely came when he said he would, took many jobs after we paid in full, neglecting our unfinished install. He was unprofessional, rude, and should be avoided at all cost. Absolutely the worst contract experience we've ever encountered, and I've had bipolar carpenters, and roofing a roofing company that totally messed up a gutter install.

I have used Berkshire and Steve for over twenty years on numerous houses. He's installed furnaces, boilers.... He's a master mechanic but will only sell you a system that is sized appropriately for your house or business. He doesn't try to over sell and over charge you for equipment that you don't need. He also designs and installs geothermal HVAC systems that can't be beat! If you are looking for real BIG savings on your heating bill check out his geothermal systems. They are number one in Rochester and he has many customers who are saving 1000's of dollars a year on their heating bill.

We have used Steve for all the work we have needed on our A/C and Furnace. Even though we probably need a new Furnace and A/C unit Steve never pressured us to get a new one or to make repairs that were not necessary. He is always available and we never hesitate to recommend to friends, family, or even strangers. He is reasonable with his prices and always looks for ways to get us the best deal possible. I don't know why anyone would go to another company to have any A/C or furnace work done.

Steve was professional when he came into my home for an estimate. He was clean, had a professional attitude and I felt confident he would do the job without difficulty. He gave me all my options and helped me choose the furnace that would meet my needs. The day of the install went smoothly. He did not leave any mess behind and taught me how to use a digital thermostat. He returned one year later and checked everything over and changed my filter. I would definitely recommend Steve from Berkshire Heating and cooling. His price was better than the other estimates I received and work was done timely.

The company that we got the water heater went out of business, Steve purchased the warranties so that we wouldn't have any issues with it and installed it. This geo-thermal system was installed in 2008, and it has worked to perfection. While working on this job, he checked our dryer vent. The lint build up was so severe we were at high risk for a flammable situation. He found and removed this due to a hole in the filter we weren't aware of. Steve is awesome, and has gone above and beyond. He seems to care about more than just the profits, I would say he is passionate about his work.

We couldn't be more pleased. Services were provided by the company owner, Steve Ouriel. He was prompt, courteous, and extremely knowledgeable. We found his prices to be very reasonable. He explained everything clearly and fully in non-technical language. He gave us several options, clearly explaining the advantages and disadvantages of each option. He has become certified in and kept abreast of the latest technology in the field, so we felt we were getting state-of-the-art equipment and first-rate service, at an inexpensive price. The work was done properly the first time. He was considerate of our time and our space. He did exactly what he said he would do. He worked around our schedule. He removed his shoes before walking through our house to the basement. His final bill was exactly what he originally estimated. He followed up a few days after our service was completed to make sure we were pleased. We feel the quality of the air in our house has dramatically improved. We no longer wake up with sore throats or suffer from extremely dry skin, despite a rather intense and relentless heating season here in Rochester this winter.

Steve repaired the ignition system, recharged pressure tanks,and cleaned and inspected components. I have used Berkshire for many years at multiple locations. They have installed furnaces and boilers for me and with regular maintenance their systems always worked well when others failed. Steve doesn't try to over or under sell you a system like other companies. He offers you the right system sized correctly for your house or business and charges a very fair price for the work that is involved.

It went great! Since the install was being done in the summer and Steve had a few other jobs going at the same time, we had flexibility as to how quickly the job needed to be completed. Steve fired up the AC unit on July 4th, right as we were hitting some really hot weather. Now that we're in mid winter, we're enjoying our ultra low heating bills compared to sweating out the crazy oil bills we would have been getting, based on past history.

Steve is a amazing! He, and several other companies, came out for a look when I bought my first house because I was interested in upgrading the old furnace and installing central air (and all the things that went along with it). In less than 24 hours I had a quote and description of several AC and furnace options. I had explained to him that I was worried about cost and he was so honest with me and my needs. Not once did I feel pressured to buy anything I didn't need or want. His prices were fantastic so I was able to get the best equipment. He was passionate about his work and is a serious perfectionist! I have recommended him to everyone I know who needs work done. I definitely got the best service in Rochester with Berkshire! The price was amazing and my house is cool in the summer and warm in the winter :) I truly can't say enough good things about this company!
