On October 9, 2023 I purchased a Dora cell battery from batteries plus with a three year warranty. The battery only lasted six months and they refuse the warranty because the battery only had 1.5 V of energy. This is clearly warranty fraud.
Description of Work: With only six months use on a battery that had a three-year warranty. When I brought it into the store, the warranty was rejected because the battery only had 1.5 V of course it only had 1.5 V because the battery is bad but that’s what their excuse was.

I ordered a cell phone battery in late April, I was told if I ordered the battery by Tuesday it would arrive on Friday and I would not be charged until I received the battery. I went in the following Saturday and the battery was not there. A woman called a week or two later to say it was on back order until June 4th. I went into the store on June 12th to check, they had a battery there but it was for another customer. He gave me that battery and when I asked why I hadnt received a call to say the battery was in he simply shrugged his shoulders. As he was ringing it up he asked if I noticed that I had been charged for the battery on 4/29 and I told him yes. An overall lousy experience and I would imagine the other customer who had been called to pick up the battery that they gave me would say similar.
Description of Work: Provider ordered a new cell phone battery for me.

My experience started out very bad as I found my vehicle dead and needed a jump start to get running. I called Batteries Plus and asked them when I bought my battery and verified the warranty. They said they needed to do a load test to see if the battery was no longer any good. This sounded like a reasonable thing until they said they would have to put it on a charge overnight to do the load test. This meant that I had no use of my vehicle that day and now into the next day. I asked if they could give me a battery to use but was told they did not have a loaner battery program. Frustrated but without options other than buying a new battery I left my battery with them. The next day I called them at 10:30 am only to find out the battery was still charging and was only at 80%. I told them I would call later. At 5:30 I called to find out what was going on. I was told the battery was at 80% charge still. This battery has now been on their charger for well over 24 hours and still did not come up to charge. My thinking was this is clearly a defective battery and I should have no problem getting a new one. Not the case. I was told that if the battery was not coming up to charge it would be deemed as a non-maintained battery that was abused and therefore would not be warrantied. I went in and met with the owner and heard him out. He suggested I buy a new battery and would give me a discount to sell it to me at cost. I told him that if the battery was not covered under warranty I would absolutely not buy another battery from them and would take my business elsewhere. The owner asked if I could wait until the end of the evening and he would give it one last try in a different battery charger to get it up to full charge. It never did reach full charge. The load test proved the 880 amp battery tested out at 97 amps after being on the charger for roughly 30 hours. They did call me that evening before closing and informed me that he would be giving me a new battery under warranty. My overall experience was quite awful until the final outcome. Honestly, I would do business with them again simply because in the end they made good on the warranty but it was a real frustrating process to deal with a simple warranty issue. I just assumed if the battery died during the warranty period it would be a simple replacement. I suggest to anyone to always get clarification of warranty limitations before assuming you are covered. In all Batteries Plus made good on the deal but it took a day and a half as well as three trips into the store. I feel obligated to give them a good rating for overall experience as well as professionalism but both were "F" ratings until the end result.
Description of Work: I bought a car battery in December of 2011 that had subsequently died. The battery came with a 2 year full replacement and 5 year pro-rated warranty.

Terrible!! They cannot do the service they are in business to do, and if you confront them with this they will just refund your money, having screwed up what you brought in to get fixed , not acknowledge their mistake and insult you on the way out the door.
Description of Work: Brought a Dremel tool battery pack in to have it rebuilt. It holds 4 small (aprox. AA sized ) rechargeable Ni-Cad batteries. When I went to pick it up it was non functional . Before I brought it in it was partially functional. When I immediately brought it back the person there started messing around with it, trying to get it to work. At this point he was not only messing with the battery pack but started poking around with the tool itself (the contacts) bending them to try to make contact with the battery terminals. None of this worked. Then they eventually put my original batteries back in but at this point the tool did not operate even as well as when I brought it in. When I told the (?) store manager that I wanted a replacement tool he absolutely refused to even consider the idea that they were responsible for damaging the tool and stated that all they would do was refund what I had paid for the battery pack repair. So I left the store with the original batteries still in it, only now they are loose and rattle in the case. These people are totally incompetent. I would not trust them to change the batteries in a flashlight. To cap the day off, as I was leaving quite annoyed by their inability to fix my battery pack, and refusal to acknowledge that they had damaged my Dremel Tool, the manager (EDAVIES) sarcastically said "have a good day".Avoid this place like the plague. They don't know how to repair a simple battery pack and if you have any problem with them they will treat you disrespectfully.
