ACES Heating and Cooling

They got it done. I just needed it done.

First Rob asked what my concerns were. Once he had a clear understanding of the issue, he went (with me tagging along) looking for likely causes. First he asked about my dehumidifier (which was sitting there full and therefor not running) and explained that would be essential. He even showed me that it had a filter(!) that needed regular cleaning and the optimum location for it to give best service and longest life. Next back to the issue at hand. Rob looked for, found and fixed several large and small leaks on the return side which meant sources of basement air to be drawn into the system, hence my primary complaint. It wasn't until my complaint was addressed and corrected did he even begin to assess the operation of the A/C unit. I emphasize this because in these days we try to stretch our dollars as far as they can go. Often this means jumping on "deals" which means I might have assumed I needed an "A/C service" alone and looked for the lowest cost service, missing the real problem. In my case, the real issue was not the A/C unit but the ducting. Now Rob didn't just rush through the service and move on to the next job. He actually tested the system and found that it was over-filled since installation 10 years ago! He did his best to explain what he saw that tipped him off and what the potential harm is and affect on performance. Once he finished correcting the levels he moved onto cleaning it and gave tips of surrounding maintenance to keep it working properly. I have to say that it sounded a little quieter when he turned it back on! To summarize, Rob listened to my complaint, found the real cause and fixed it in prompt, professional manner. I would not hesitate to use ACES Heating and Cooling again!
