I hired Marty to correct my leaky roof created by another contractor after I paid for a re-roofing job. The contractor would not own up to his over site of forgetting to caulk all areas. Marty was the only contractor that I didn't need a complete tear off. He fixed my roof and even accompanied me to small claims court hoping the contractor would own up to his mistake. He didn't. Marty took time out of his day to stand up for what he thought was the right thing to do. Very honest and I would definitely recommend.

He thoroughly inspected the roof in detail and spent considerate amount of time making sure all of my questions were answered and I felt totally clear about the job and all the options involved. I have yet to received estimate from other companies before I make my decision.

They were wonderful. The owner was very personable and understood what our vision was and made it happen. The crew that came was spectacular and solved any minor glitch that came up. They were very competitive on the price especially for the quality of work they did. They were always prompt.

Great job. Very prompt responses. Gave a window of time and stuck to it. Fast work and cleaned up better than it was to begin with. They came on Easter weekend to my surprise. Highly recommend.

It was okay. It was a little more expensive than it should have been but I didn’t make that much effort. I just wanted the job done but they did it and they did a good job. The person who owns the company is a good individual to work with, and he is a local. He used one of his construction people, just one, because it was a smaller project. They finished it in four days. The only negative was that I thought it might have been a little too expensive but I should have argued that at the time. I would tell people to make sure that they get a pretty good idea what it should cost and make sure that it is all that they want to talk about when they are talking with him. He is a good, open individual to talk with. I thought we could have argued it down if I had a better idea of what it should have been. I didn’t know that until afterward. They were good. He didn’t make any mistakes or anything. He actually got here a little quicker than he thought he might be able to and was able to take care of it a little quicker. He is a very knowledgeable individual.

I was truly impressed with the quality of work and professionalism of the two men from A-Best Construction: Nick and Chris were knowledgeable , prompt, and did exceptional work, They cleaned up every night when done , they were courteous and kind. They were helpful in many ways . they would let the dog in and out, brought my garbage cans back after emptied, shoveled walk when I expected a delivery. They are truly gentleman , with great work ethic's that you seldom see these days: They take pride in there work and it shows: Every one who sees the kitchen is impressed and wants the name of my contractor : I will hire A-Best construction for all future work:

It went very well! I was pretty sure I knew what I wanted them both to look like and everyone helped me make that happen. They helped with picking out all the things that go into a bathroom x2, made suggestions on how I could do something a little different and visually show me how it would look. They adjusted there start time to what would be convenient for me, cleaned up every day. Marty Hill, owner, kept in touch to see how things were going. Frank and Chad were not only great at their jobs but fun to work with. For both bathrooms it took about 2 weeks. I love my bathrooms!

Marty was great to work with, his team showed up on time and completed the work in a shorter time frame then estimated.

Took about two weeks from start to finish. Professional attitudes. Very friendly and responsive to options desired. They were very helpful in addressing existing issues and fixing them (old plumbing that needed to be replaced and upgraded, labeling all new shut-off valves, suggesting fixes and upgrades during the process. For example, while they were redoing some of the bathroom plumbing they noticed that I had an older outdoor faucet. They suggested that, if I were to buy a new, freeze-proof faucet for my back yard, they would install it for me because they were already replacing the existing plumbing in that area). They did a great job in trying to minimize the dust and dirt in the house as well. The tear out was very messy (this was the original bathroom from the 1950's) and they helped to tape off rooms and put up plastic to minimize the dust that would deposit around the house. They showed up promptly in the morning and asked that I be there every day or whenever possible to check every detail to be sure that I was getting exactly what I wanted. The Approximate Cost provided was for labor only. I purchased all of the materials myself (excluding drywall, any adhesives or thin set, screws/nails/etc., and the dumpster used to hold all of the debris) I would use A Best Construction again and I would recommend them to people I know as well.

Marty, the company's President explained the process and was very true to his word. His crew was punctual and very respectful. They did a beautiful job and cleaned up the yard meticulously each day. You don't always get what you pay for but I can honestly say I got what I paid for and some. I'd recommend A Best Construction to anyone that asked me about my new roof. They told me they'd be done, with good weather, in 2 1/2 days and they were right on the money. I wish every contractor I hired was like A Best Construction. They're the best out there.

Marty was very responsive and provided a good price during the quoting process, however he never followed up with a written quote/contact as requested. I called and left a voice message to get the quote and references because he was the best contractor I had spoken to. Marty finally responded with an email quote and explained that he doesn't do a great job with the paperwork. We agreed to the work and his roofer came over to complete the work as scheduled on a Saturday morning. Steve did a good job and the roof leak was repaired. We had an issue with one downspout overflowing and I was unable to reach Marty on the phone. His voice mailbox was full. I followed up via email which he responded to by sending Steve back to look at the gutter/downspout. The return visit wasn't scheduled ahead of time, so I wasn't home when he returned. After he used the hose to push water thru the downspout, the back gutter has been handling the heavy rainfall without overflowing. Steve did recommend that we get a bigger gutter along the back of the house or consider gutter covers. Marty never followed up with a quote and this time I didn't call or email. Overall, the work was done for a fair price, however it took too much follow-up from me and Marty was difficult to reach. I wouldn't hire for a bigger job even though you don't pay anything until the job is done. I am more comfortable with written quotes, contracts and a contractor that is easier to reach.

very well. The workers were all very courteous and nice. Marty, as well as each worker, did a very good job explaining exactly what they were planning on doing so there were no surprises. They made some suggestions, but weren't pushy. They cleaned up after themselves and didn't make a lot of noise. I felt very comfortable with them at our house. The work they did was very professional and the price was reasonable.

Met with Marty the owner at 8 am on a Wednesday to sign the order. He said his crew could start that morning. This was surprising given that most roofers are booked a few weeks out. He explained he had a big job starting the following week and wanted to get ours in while there was a stretch of good weather forecast. I was okay with that so his crew showed up a half hour later and went right to work. They had a dumpster placed in our driveway for all the debris and the shinles we wanted delivered that morning as well. The project manager Paul introduced himself and the crew. Paul advised me every step of the way on what was being done and their progress. The crew worked quickly, cleaned up thoroughly at the end of each day, and were polite and respectful to me and my family. Paul had a great suggestion in using shingles on the front part of the garage to match the house and using a sheet material for the back part of it.

They started promptly at what ever hour was convient for me. Mostly it was 8 am, they cleaned the working area before going to lunch and again before leaving for the day. Very considerate of me and tried to keep the dust and mess at a minimum. The work went smoothly even with some minor changes to the original plan. Nick and Chris did a very professional job. Their attention to detail was outstanding. The job had been estimated at 15 days and they finished in 13.5. Marty Hill, the owner, stopped by and called me often to make sure that thing were going well. No complaints at all. I am very happy the project.

We have known Marty, the owner, for over 25 years. His company built our deck, put vinyl siding on our home and most recently, remodeled our kitchen. Excellent workmanship! His crew is very skilled and they have a wealth of experience. They were very good about cleaning up at the end of each day. I trusted them in our home when we weren't there. The guys set up a sink hook up for us and put plywood down for countertops during the construction phase so we were never without a "working" kitchen. That was really great. We were very satisfied with how the kitchen turned out. I was so nervous during the planning stages and Marty was very good about sharing ideas and putting me at ease. I really trusted his advice. When you spend this amount of money you want things done right and on time.

They were very good and friendly. They were on time and they got the work done. This company did more than what I’d asked and their demeanor was very nice. They were late by a couple of days; but not terribly late.

After giving us a good price on the job we wanted to have done, he never showed up, even after we called a couple of times to remind him.

The price was reasonable but the problem was they were not dependable. They were never here when they said they would be. So, I would never call them again.

Marty was easy to work with. He checked the roof from the attic for possible water damage. Went up on the roof himself and found many layers of roofing. He recommended a complete tear off and I agreed with that. The crew showed up at 6:30 am on the day he said they would. All the guys were very polite and took very good care in protecting my new windows and bushes all around the house. They finished the whole job in 2 days and cleaned up after themselves very well. It has been many years since they did the work and I have never had a problem with the new roof. It still looks as if it were put on yesterday. I would recommend, A Best construction and have recomended them to every one that I know needs work done.

Arrived as scheduled and completed job exactly as scheduled. Great communications.

Marty was a pleasure to talk to and he spent almost a hour at our home going through the project. He also provided some ideas and information on another project we were considering. Admittedly, Marty was late to our home as he did not have the time correct on his schedule. I also had to call him to get his price for the project and he has still not sent the hard copy of the proposal after a few weeks. He seemed very busy and distracted most of the times we spoke but he was always willing to take the time and make sure all of our questions were answered. Based on the quote he provided over the phone, he was the highest of 5 quotes we requested. I would recommend Marty to others as I believe he cares about what he does and think he would to a good job. We will get quotes from him in the future if we have other projects are our home.

After calling and texting him 4 time, he left a verbal quote on my voice mail, double the price of the other two contractors. Quote took over a week, which was ok, but not even on paper, no details

Estimation visit went well; Marty was friendly and professional. Roofers came when they were supposed to. Minimal debris left behind. A few corrections were needed. The problems came after the main work. It became very hard to get a hold of Marty. I heard he had some kind of medical emergency. I was given a contact, supposedly someone who works for him, someone I never met. Communication was difficult. However, someone came out to to take care of the corrections in a reasonable period of time. After that, communication remained pretty much impossible. Since I got a 50-year shingle, I had wanted some kind of document verifying the warranty, but I never got one. A colleague of mine called A Best the next year, on my recommendation. They never called him back. The web site appears to no longer be active. The work done for me, however, appears to be top-notch.

Marty does great work and provides great advice. I have used him for other work, I would use him again, and I have recommended him to friends. He was recommended by another friend who had a kitchen done; one of the best kitchens I have seen recently. Excellent quality, workmanship, attention to detail, and pleasant to work with.

Things went as well as they could. Not only was the leaking problem solved, ABest found some other issues and fixed them as well. Howie was very careful to check out the entire roof, not just the area that had a problem. He did not push for a much more expensive reroofing. He fixed the problem for minimum cost to me. So problem fixed with least money paid. I'm happy with that and will call them again when I DO have to do a tear off and reroof.
