The workmanship is impeccable! I was consulted as each step of installation took place as to my options and work was performed as I chose. Coordination of multiple contractors was handled with the utmost calmness. Their "I'll take care of it attitude" kept me calm and at ease.

Marty Hill was energetic, thorough and fun to deal with. His crew worked rapidly, neatly and professionally. The work was done in a timely and craftsman-like fashion. This intrinsically dirty job was accomplished with minimal residual mess. The workers were cheerful and worked as a really tight-knit team. I would readily work with A Best Construction again.

We obtained 4 estimates for the roof replacement, and A Best Construction's estimate was around the mid-point. Marty Hill came to our home, made a detailed evaluation of the roof, and prepared the estimate. The work was completed within the requested time frame, while working around a few days of wet weather conditions. A rainy day interrupted the work, but the roof was securely covered to avoid any water problems. The work was completed efficiently and the crew was professional and courteous. We were given phone numbers for the crew leader and Marty, in the event that we had questions as to the progress. The clean up was good, with only a few stray shingle pieces, nails, etc. around the yard. Shrubbery around the house was covered during the job and well protected. The original estimate included ridge vents, but the crew leader noted that there was a sufficient number of box vents such that the new ridge vent was not required. Marty notified us of this proposed change, gave us the option of installing the vents, or crediting the change on the estimate. A week after the job was completed, Marty came to our house to check the job and confirm our satisfaction.

Everything went fine. The roof was in horrible shape, so he fixed it. We also had some water damage in the garage and basement to some drywall which was fixed. Everything on the estimate was done without any surprises. One thing overlooked had to be changed, and that was done right away.

They were very good and punctual. I would give this company A's all the way through. They did not include the painting of the room in the bill. They went over and above what the estimate said and didn't get paid for it.

The plumber came and said that he wasn't sure what was going on. He told us to call him if the problem happened again at any time of the day. I can't say anything bad about him. He is very fair. He only charged twenty dollars for the hour and a half he was here to look at it.

A little higher priced, but wanted a quality job and felt they were the best we interviewed. They were punctual, completed the job very quickly, and cleaned up after themselves. The only complaint we have is that there was damage done to the side of the roof where it meets the house. We were told this is typical and they would not fix it.

Update as of 6/5/09: roof leaked. Am trying to work it out with the contractor. Will update when the matter is fully resolved. Marty Hill's crew showed up on time, worked diligently over three days, treated me with courtesy and respect, were mindful of the plantings around my house and detached garage, and at the end of each day, cleaned up the debris generated by this incredibly messy job. In addition, when the roof's removal revealed some insulation deficiencies, Marty was able to call in an insulation expert on the spot to address them. His crew also went above and beyond by, for instance, reshingling the top of a garage bump-out, which probably isn't even visible to the neighbors behind me.

The crew was punctual and very diligent. A Best uses all their own employees, no subcontractors. On the second day they were short staffed, and the three men who were there stayed until 9:00 pm. I was concerned for them because they were out there in the dark sawing and hammering. That was the only worrisome moment for me. Then they came out the next morning at 7:15 am! That's dedication. They finished the job just in time for a big windstorm. The roof came through with absolutely no damage. I would use this company again for any major remodeling projects.

I needed work done to close out a home inspection report item for the buyer of my home. Marty discussed it with me, and made sure what he was doing would meet what was specified by the buyer. He measured the house and calculated the number of vents needed. The crew was one day late due to rain delaying existing jobs, but the work was completed within the agreed time.

The crew of six worked for six days and were on time, worked neatly, cleaned up after themselves every day, and went out of their way to protect our flowers and plants. Marty kept us regularly apprised of their status.

A Best did a fantastic job. Everything looks great, and they performed all tasks in the quote exactly as described. They had a large crew on the roof, and all work was finished in 2 days; 1 day for the soffits and 1 day for the gutters. All work was completed in 1 week. Marty was a great communicator, and we were able to get a hold of him whenever we needed to.

Out of five companies interviewed, A Best owner gave most honest assessment of the job when he came for estimate. Work was well done, exceptional cleanup. Estimate was not the cheapest for the job, but the best value for my money.

We have heard horror stories about roofing jobs. The A Best people kept their word about everything they promised. Marty Hill believes communication is important to make sure the costumer is satisfied. I found this very refreshing. The crew was very good with clean up. This is one of the messiest jobs you'll ever have done. They even came after the job was done and swept up the attic. Marty Hill has been in the business for a long time and is very knowledgeable. We had other quotes that were priced lower but we went with A Best because of the amount of experience this company had. Wouldn't everyone want a great job at a lower price.

Great! Marty matched the price of a competitor and was able to get on the job within a week. The work was done in a day and the dumpster was gone within hours of completion. Great job, overall.

A Best uses its own roofing crew, rather than subcontractors, which was a plus to me. The estimate was higher than the other two roofers, but the actual cost came in $100 lower than the estimate(about the same as one estimate and $100 higher than another estimate). Marty is knowledgeable, reputable, fair and honest. He explained the problems with how my roof was installed and with the shingles the builder used, which the other roofers also told me. Even though my house is only seven years old, the roof is starting to deteriorate. Neighbors with the same roofing and builder also have had problems. When I have to replace the roof, I will hire Marty's company to do it. His company does a complete tear-off, rather than putting new shingles over the old shingles, which matches my philosophy. It's more expensive that way, but I'd rather have a flat surface for the new shingles and problems with the wood fixed or wood replaced, as needed.

A Best Construction was very professional and courteous. They did a great job, and I am very satisfied. I will use them again and recommend them.

I have had A Best Construction do other work for me and have always been pleased with their work. I would recommend them to other people.
