Description of Work: I had a nightmare with a previous contractor who tried to double the price of the project on the day they were supposed to begin. I fired them and made many frantic calls to find another contractor as the drywall installation was delaying other parts of the project. Darick with 3D was the last of several contractors I met with and I ended up selecting him. His price was pretty good, though not the lowest. I went with him because I felt like he was a straight shooter and told me what the issues were that i was facing without making it seem impossible. There were several issues with the structure that made the project a bit more difficult, which i won't get into here. | |Something to note here. He gave me a price, then when i called him to say we were selecting him and go over the schedule, he said I had to pay for materials with another company. In essence, his quote was only labor and I didn't feel he was clear about that. However, we were so far behind, i needed to get going and went ahead as it was just a few hundred dollars more. Darick handled ordering the material, i just had to call up and pay the company directly. Pleasantly, it was about $100 less than Darick estimated. | |The crew started exactly when they said they would and it was estimated that it would take five days. They were done in three and a half. The job site was left clean each day and the crew were very nice and professional. | |When Darick called me at completion to get paid, he said he had good news, the job tool less than he expected and it was almost $500 less than his estimate. He mentioned at the beginning that the quote he was giving me was a "worst case" and that he would charge me an hourly rate. I guess i hadn't anticipated that he would be that honest, I was in and out of town and had no idea how many people he had on site working most of the time. | |While priming and paining, i noticed two screw holes had popped and were noticeable. I called Darrick the next day, he sent two guys out to fix it immediately. I get consistent comments on how good it looks,especially since we painted it with a semi-gloss that shows everything. You can't see one seam or screw hole. Really well done. | |Darick is definitely a talker, and his specialty is actually "Ceiling Art" and textured ceilings. We simply wanted a flat ceiling, but he puts the full court press on to get you to do textured, almost to the point of annoyance. But they did as we requested, and did it fantastically. I really can't say enough about them. It was a great experience, and I'll be using them when we do another project next year. | |If you use them, definitely talk to him about his "hourly" rate, and don't let him push you into something you don't want. He really pushed hard for a textured ceiling (which his work did look great in pictures), but we wanted flat and had to tell him so repeatedly. Aside from that, it was a great experience.

Description of Work: Kitchen walls and ceiling patched where soffits were removed, and ceiling scraped and textured. Work area was draped in plastic to contain dust and debris, and tarps covered affected flooring. Crew was on time for both days, worked diligently, and very respectful of family members. After completion of work floors swept and debris removed. Job completed within requested time, for fair price, and quality exceeded expectations.

Description of Work: Our upstairs bathroom ceiling plaster surface was cracked and had started to separate from the underlying plaster in a 4" x 4" area. Cracks ran from there around the edge of the shower enclosure, and in the other direction about 2 feet. Darick ruled out a roof leak and said it was probably due to condensation from 3 people using the shower every morning. |The polite friendly workmen showed up on time both the first day, when they removed the separating plaster as well as the loose stuff shown by the cracking and put a new plaster coat on, and the second day a couple of days later, when they sanded and primed the repair. They were careful to keep the house clean, running dropcloths up the stairs and across the floor. Good job, and we'd certainly have them back.

Description of Work: They repaired a wall over a window that had been ruined due to a leak in the roof. They also fixed area's on all of the walls that had been poorly repaired by previous owners. Everything went very well, everyone that came into my house was very professional. They were quick and made sure to clean up after. The room looks wonderful now.
