Description of Work: Needed to replace our water main and connection to the city water. Balkan advised us on the process, got all the permits and had the work done over the course of a week. They originally estimated it would take 2 days but they encountered some issues while they were digging out the pipes. To dig out the pipes they had to make 3 holes in the street and sidewalk and through our foundation. They closed all of those up with relative speed. They also moved our interior water meter and re-connected the inside pipes (for a small up-charge since they normally only handle outside pipes). Overall they were reliable and did a good job. As with all contractors you do have to ask a lot of questions and demand answers along the way but they were fairly responsive and even came back to check the water meter installation a few weeks later when we were finding pebbles in our faucet filter.

Description of Work: Balkan Sewer & Water Main cleaned our main house line, as well as all the outdoor drains, which were backing up whenever it rained. The day after our service call it rained a lot, and all the lines drained perfectly. The plumber they dispatched services our neighborhood regularly and was familiar with the plumbing configuration of our home, which saved time. He also recommended a maintenance schedule to avoid future issues.

Description of Work: Balkan replaced the sewer main to the house. They did a very good job. They were a little later than they said they would be getting to the job, but they did the job efficiently. The price was a bit higher than other firms but I chose them because they seemed the most professional. Their communication was lacking -- I had to call them about several minor issues which were resolved but they did not communicate promptly or effectively.

Description of Work: They dug up the clay pipeline and replaced the outdoor sewer line for my home from the house to the main sewer line in the street. It went quite well. As checked above, they explained the process and the time line which they kept to, very punctual; if any issue, I was consulted or advised; quality of work and finishing was excellent. Very professional. The price was high but the work was complex and extensive.

Description of Work: I have a drain under my stoop that has being giving me trouble for a while. I called Balkan Plumbing and they responded very quickly. Frank Marte came to the appointment on time and took a look at my problem. I could see that this was not the type of job that his company does, but Frank spent 1/2 hour with me explaining what my problem was and giving me names of people that could help me. He even went to my neighbours house to take a look at his drain lay-out just to understand mine better, even if he knew he was not going to make any money out of this visit.

Description of Work: Balkan replaced a leaking main water supply to our 4-unit building in Borough Park, Brooklyn. They were punctual, professional, and by our observation performed the necessary work and cleanup properly. They returned a few days later to complete filling in the asphalt holes in the street they had to dig and did a good job. They took great pains to preserve some landscaping we had in the front of the house where they had to excavate, so we appreciated that. All in all, an excellent experience...
