Description of Work: Structural consultation Some major issues had been overlooked. Overall he arrived on time was very pleasant and professional. Pointed out some areas I had not been aware of but also missed some big concerns. I thought it was expensive for the time spent .

Response from Architecture & Engineering Consulting LLC
It is unfortunate that there was clearly some misunderstanding with [Member Name Removed]. We were not made aware of any major issues or concerns or given the opportunity to discuss them prior to this review. When reached on the phone, she did not recall any negative feedback. We are always willing to discuss any client concerns and if anything is missed we welcome the opportunity to re-evaluate any recommendations given.

Red Hook Engineering was recommended to us by our house inspector Bob Newkirk. We were purchasing a very old house (pre-1800) that had a lot of quirks and we wanted to make sure we weren't buying something unsound. Tim Lynch spent a few hours at the house with us in order to complete a structural report. He was very thorough, clear in his communication, and he even made arrangements to meet us on a Saturday because we couldn't do any other day. His report of findings was detailed and explained things very clearly. During our negotiating process with the seller Tim then provided an "engineer's estimate" in which he detailed all the recommended repairs (everything from new posts and beams to re-grading the house) and estimated the cost of completing the repairs. This was really helpful during our negotiating. After we bought the house we worked with Tim to create a plan for house repairs and renovations. He created drawings and worked closely with us and with the company doing the work. This was done over the course of a few months. He offered really sensible advice, didn't pressure us into doing extra work, and just overall took a very smart and practical approach to the job. He was easy to work with - very friendly and professional. He was also very patient in explaining everything to us - we are first-time home owners so we were probably a bit more nervous than most - and always made himself available for phone calls. Because he is both an architect and an engineer we were confident in his experience and felt like we were getting a well-rounded perspective. We were really happy with the overall experience of working with Tim and if we ever embark on any other projects we'll absolutely work with him again.
