Sears

It was one of the larger ones they offer for a one family home. They did not install it properly, whoever the installation people were. There is an important pipe that is supposed to come off of it for discharging gas or something, as they did not even put that on there. And it also leaked and they had to fix that. They were fast, took the old one with them and they came when they said they were going to come so there were some good things, but there also were some bad things. I don't think I paid for the installation because I think it was part of the purchase I made from Sears. These contractors were sent from Sears to do the work. The quality was not good; they made a couple of errors. The responsiveness was good. The sent another contractor to fix what the first one did.

They had to come out several times to repair it. It seems to be working after the last time they were here. To do better I think he could have given us a phone number so we could have contacted him because we've had so many different techs come so many times, and it was just like one thing after another. I don't really trust any of them now. I don't know for how long it will continue working. They said that if you have a Sears tech come more than three times within a 12 month period I can say no, do not come a fourth time, and they will give you a whole new appliance. The tech told me I did not really want that because the new appliances are worse than the old ones. So even if you get a new one it probably is not going to last very long. The quality of the new Sears washing machines are pretty low. So they talked me pretty much into just calling them instead of getting a new washing machine for free because the new ones are such bad quality. It was kind of nightmare to tell you the truth -- the whole Sears. We paid for a warranty and they are quite expensive but you have to have them. Their warranty covers all of my major appliances including the hot water heater, dishwasher, refrigerator, washer and dryer. I did not have to pay for this repair. They were nice and it was always a different tech that came back and he did not know what the previous guy did. It was not always the same problem, it was different problems. It was just one thing after another with that washer.

They were definitely on time and provided a good service.

I've used them multiple times in the past. It has probably been 3 or 4 times in the last couple of years. The price was lower when I first started using them and it kind of went up and up and up so I might not use them again. The main reason I used them was because of the price. They did a pretty good job. I had a couple of stains on my carpet that I had tried cleaning before and couldn't get them out. They were able to get them out so I was really impressed with that. I would consider using them again if the price was right.

I liked this service because they alerted me to an issue in my suspension, that was not dangerous, but needed attention eventually. They were not pushy about having to get the issue in my suspension fixed "that day". I like the no-pressure attitude. That is unusual in chain mechanic dealerships, in my experience. I have had one free tire rotation since I purchased the tires, and they are wearing well.

Very pushy to sign contract on first visit for estimate of siding job. Told us how others had wasted their time, implying that if we did not sign the contact we would be wasting their time, on the NO obligation estimate. After we said we needed other estimates from other contractors they offered to reduce price by $1000.00 if we signed the contract that day. Very Pushy ! We will NOT deal with Sears home services.
