Kenny and his crew did an excellent job! He was punctual and always just a phone call away if I had any questions or suggestions. The job took approximately 3 weeks to complete and I couldn't be any happier.
Description of Work: Removed wallpaper from 1 bedroom, hallway, and kitchen; also painted all those rooms. He also removed the popcorn ceiling in the hallway. Remodeled my kitchen including installing new cabinets and backsplash and running plumbing line to my refrigerator.

There are patches on the walls in the living room that he has not repaired. He put a hole in my entry door, placed a metal plate over it and has yet to repair it. The tiles are uneven and have plaster all over them that they can't get off. The floors are uneven. The outlets in the basement are behind the walls he put up which is against code. We found out, after we hired him, that he was not licensed in our county, so he had to get licensed before he could start the work. He was supposed to come back to fix the cabinets in the kitchen, but has not been back in over a month. He created an entry way between my garage and basement and threw the debris under my pool deck. My husband finally talked to him and he said he'd be back three days ago. We've not heard back from him and cannot reach him.
Description of Work: We hired him to do remodeling on a home we were purchasing that had been foreclosed. We brought him into the home before we placed the offer on it to make sure he could do the work needed. This included replacing tile in the bathroom, the fixtures, putting down floors in the TV room and living room, refinishing the floors in the living and bedrooms, and painting. He also put up sheetrock on the basement walls.

Response from Moken Home Improvement
I am surprised and taken back by this negative comment from this client. I'd like to start off by saying that this client's husband is a friend of mine. He asked me to complete the work on his home, as he was familiar with the quality of my work. I initially declined, and tried to find another contractor to do the work for them, as I was not licensed in Nassau county at the time. However, I couldn't find a contractor who would do all of the work required for such a low price. Therefore, I applied for, and obtained my Nassau county contractor's license, prior to starting the job. This job was done under a 203k bank loan, as such, there is no way the bank would have allowed me to conduct the work on the house without being licensed in Nassau county. My friend, the stated clients husband, was aware of this. There were several requests made of me and my workers that were not part of the bank approved work, however, as a favor for a friend, I performed the work, at no extra charge. The bank inspected the work upon completion and it was to their satisfaction. On completion I was paid in full by the bank for the work that was done. To address the accusation of the patches on the wall, these patches were the result of cracks in the wall that occurred long after we completed the work on the house. They were not a result of our work. We did, however, agree to remedy the issue, again, at no extra cost to said client. We asked the client to purchase the matching paint, however, they failed to do so, therefore we were unable to complete the task. In response to the door issue, I will admit that one of our workers did place a small screw hole where the lock goes, in the door. I advised the client that we would both repair the door AND compensate her, which we did. The client didn't seem to take issue with this proposal, therefore it's surprising that its being brought up on this forum. We take pride in our contracting company, and customer satisfaction is key to our business. To view our work, please visit our website: mokenhomeimprovement.com.
