Emphatically do not recommend. Lance came out to our place in the Hudson Valley to quote on a radon mitigation solution before we bought our house. We engaged him to do the work, and on the day of the service (I was not on site), he called to say that he actually thought a different system might work better, though it would cost significantly more (note we had already factored the cost he quoted on into our house purchase negotiations). When I pushed him on this, he backpedaled and said the system he first suggested would work fine, and if it did not, we could move to plan B, paying only the difference. It did not work. When I followed up to move to plan B, he refused to honor his word, tried to weasel out of his contract by saying that the Airthings Air Monitor (that he recommended) was not accurate and tested high, and then ultimately quoted me a cost far exceeding the original work, without any offset for the amount we already paid.

Lance and his crew showed up right on time, explained clearly what they were going to do, and answered all of my questions. After the installation was completed, they cleaned everything up, so there was nothing I needed to do afterwards. I realize that every house is different, and radon mitigation results will vary from house to house. Also, my house had ideal conditions for a good radon mitigation outcome - a 4 inch gravel bed under a basement concrete slab with no cracks or other places radon gas could enter from below. Having said that, my radon levels before mitigation averaged 4-6 pCi/L, with occasional peaks to 10-12 pCi/L on some days. After mitigation, the levels have been below 1.0 pCi/L since installation 2 weeks ago. Needless to say, I am very pleased with the result. I would not hesitate to recommend Lance and his crew for any work you might need for your home.
